Considering our band (350 people) makes up more than ten percent of the student body (3,000 people), we're not really labeled as "geeks."
We sort of ostracize ourselves from everybody else, though. Not as bad as the Cult crew/rowing, though.
The performing arts all hate each other, because we're all convinced that we own the stage. (Mainly, it's the drama department that doesn't like the others; but we reciprocate.)
But within the band, we have cliques: + ALTO SAXES - the hands-down coolest section + TENOR SAXES - think they're as cool as the altos + TRUMPETS - rivals to the alto saxes, and just as egotistical + FLUTES - the competitive ones + TUBAS - the gods of band (after the BD); everyone loves the tubas + CLARINETS - the boring group/the ones that don't care + DOUBLE-REEDS - the nerds
And so on.
