Sexual Orientation: Strange and complex and really not even understood by Alstor himself. Physically he is attracted to women, but he finds that emotionally men are easier to connect to. However, his relationships with men never go past a platonic sort of deep, brotherly love so let's just say straight.

Physical Description: Pretty, not handsome, and almost to a girlish degree. Alstor is of average height - about 5'7" - but seems smaller on account of his wiry build. His muscle mass is not, nor will it ever be, particularly what he wants it to be; while not flabby by any means, he simply hasn't got the physical ability to develop the toned physique that some riders sport.

His skin is a medium brownish color, evenly toned, with no major blemishes and only a few scattered scars. His hair is very dark brown, basically black, and he wears it in dreadlocks. They are about shoulder length but he usually pulls them back into something of a ponytail. The only actually striking thing about Alstor's coloration, actually, are his eyes. They are large, light gray, and have a tendency to make him look younger than he is.

He is in the habit of squinting when trying to get people to take him more seriously.

That said, Alstor does not look like a girl. Effeminate, yes, but he is still decidedly male.

Personality: Simply put, Alstor does not have time for your bullshit.

A focused and serious young man, Alstor does what is asked and expected of him and does it well. He comes off as aloof and humorless to most who know him, which is a pretty accurate description. He is stoic, and some degree of a good leader in a pinch, but is much more keen to follow the orders of someone he deems competent than to try to control a meandering band of fools.

Honesty, according to Alstor, is the best policy. He is straightforward with others and expects others to be straightforward with him. He finds lying to be abhorrent and intentionally omitting portions of the truth only slightly less so. Some of this comes from his experience as a healing apprentice - he understands that you cannot fully treat the patient unless the patient tells you exactly what is wrong. In choosing friends and companions, Alstor values those who he knows will be honest and loyal. He is hesitant to trust anyone who he has not known and tested for quite some time.

History: The middle child of five, and the only boy. Both of Alstor's parents work as healers, and so it was only natural that their children follow them into the craft. Alstor grew up in a disciplined family unit, following orders and generally trying not to get in the way. While his sisters were lighthearted, giggly children who could not be deterred by punishments, Alstor learned quickly that a serious demeanor could get you places.

Over the following years, Alstor's cheerfulness and laughter were slowly drained away, leaving a restrained young man of rare smiles and dedicated work ethic. He entered into the healer craft as an official apprentice and worked diligently to learn as much as he could.

He was searched and brought to Ista Weyr only recently and has taken it as something of a surprise, although not an unwelcome one. He approaches candidacy as he approaches everything else in his life - with determination to succeed.
