Hehe, if anyone has a better name, it would be great, but since the main villain is Xieas, I think it suits it.

Anyway, I plan on editing the main role play by adding grammar and extra details into it to make it easier to understand for new people and hopefully entertain everyone else.

5 pages in the role play will hopefully be 1 chapter of story.

Yeah... Hopefully wont fail.

Each chapter will probably be released in two parts, one with basic grammar and spelling added, and a slight re ordering of posts so it makes more sense, and then a second one, with more detail and paragraphs.

Chapter 1

The blond women stepped around the corner and noticed the man in the tan overcoat. Nodding to him, she said "Detective... may I have the pleasure of asking were you’re going?”
“I'm taking Valkyrie here to see an old friend," replied Skulduggery as he nodded to Valkyrie, adding, “This is Amlith,” Valkyrie smiled and said “Hi” before sticking her hands into her coat pockets.

Amlith glanced at Valkyrie and raised an eyebrow before turning back to Skulduggery. "...bit young isn’t she? I wouldn't have thought she could defend herself," Pfft… she is too young to have my appreciation, let alone attention… Amlith thought as she turned away, her eyes opening wide as she noticed someone in the street. "Hmm…" Amlith mumbled before stepping back and removing her coat and revealing wings before opening them and flying into the air, “I think I’ve found him” She stated as she left. Skulduggery and Valkyrie watched for a moment, their coats billowing in the wind, before continuing to walk towards their destination.
Amlith landed on a tree branch overlooking a road. Folding her wings behind her, she sat on a branch and watched the people for a bit, seeking out her target.

After a while, she spotted her victim and glided out of sight, hidden from view in the dim light of dusk. Morphing her wings back into her body, Amlith slipped he coat back on and quietly walked onto the street. She weaved through the crowds and soon caught up with her target, a middle-aged man. Discreetly flipping open a dagger, Amlith stepped behind the man, pressing the dagger into his back. "Hey." she said cheerfully. The man went pale, and took an unsteady step before continuing to walk slowly. "Listen" she muttered, "just go along with it." the man nodded then tried to smile "Oh, hey, d-didn’t see you t-there." He stammered, aware that going online with it was his only choice. "Alright" Amlith said, pressing the dagger harder "if you be quiet, and come with me, you might just get out of this... alive," She muttered in a dangerous, but quiet tone. The man hesitated for a moment before nodding, and Amlith quickly slid the dagger back into her pocket before guiding the man off the street. The man, fear clearly etched on his face, walked down the alley that Amlith had indicated, passing through a deserted looking area before being stopped by his captor in front of an old warehouse. Amlith pushed him through the door and into a cellar and locked the door behind them. The man was quivering. Amlith pulled out a battered chair and pushed the man into it. Grabbing a piece of rope, she tied him to the chair and stepped back. "W..." the man started "w...what do you w-want with m-me?" Amlith walked over to a desk and started rummaging around "You'll see soon enough" she said, finding what she was looking for. A syringe. Amlith grinned in a way that could only be described as evil. The man went pale.

A distant cry echoed through the streets, "Stop! Stay there!" shouted Taleyah Skyle as she chased after a bank robber, her blond hair billowing out behind her as she ran.
"Why should I?" shouted back the criminal before he ducked into a side alley and dashed away. Taleyah went silent and focused, using her magic to run faster, until she blurred, cutting in front of the robber, she blocked off his exit and backed him into a corner. "Who are you?" she asked.
"I'm not saying." He said, his head quickly twisting around as he searched for a way to escape. Now that she had him captured, Taleyah noticed he had long, dark hair and had many scars that looked as if they were from battle and a sack, bulging with money.
"Fine," Taleyah said before grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back painfully. The criminal yelped. "Now," She asked again, "Will you tell me who you are?"
“Make me,” He snarled, Taleyah twisted his arm, there was an audible crack.
"You're coming with me," She said, the robber whimpered in pain as he dropped to the ground, clutching his arm.

Skulduggery and Valkyrie were wandering down the street; Skulduggery’s Bentley needing repairs once more, when they saw Taleyah carrying someone on her back, the person was twitching. Stopping next to her, Skulduggery began, "Hello Taleyah" then noticed the man on her back was handcuffed, "Ah, you’re busy…” He said before adding, “You don’t recognise me? I’m Skulduggery, here take my number call when you have the time, we haven’t seen each other in ages." As they left Taleyah to carry away her prisoner, Skulduggery walked off once more, his goal now apparent to Valkyrie, who was hurrying behind him to keep up with his long strides. They were going to Gordon’s house.

Valkyrie was being trained in water magic. It had taken her some time to get used to it, and it wasn’t as fancy as fire, or as powerful as air, yet she couldn’t deny it had its uses. There was a knock on the door, the loud sound disturbing the calm of the room. This was the main reason why Valkyrie was trained in magic here. Then, a bright light illuminated the room, filling the house with an unearthly glow before the door exploded, shards of hardened wood spraying everywhere. A large man stepped into the room, ducking under the doorframe as he strode in. He must have been at least 7ft, his bald head brushing against the ceiling and his long leather coat billowed out behind him as he stepped towards Valkyrie. The man raised his hand and a beam of purple light streaked towards Valkyrie, catching her in the chest and knocking her into the far wall. Skulduggery clicked his fingers, conjuring a fireball in his right hand as he grabbed his gun in his left. There was a bang and the tall man shouted in pain as a bullet shot through his right hand, spraying blood against the wall, he turned and spotted Skulduggery, eyes widening slightly as he saw the Skeleton Detective throw a fire ball at him. The man fled the house. His long coat on fire.

Taleyah was lying on the couch in front of her TV, after dropping off the burglar at a nearby police station; she had gone home for the day. Who had that strange man in the coat been? She thought to herself. He said his name was Skulduggery, could it be? The Skulduggery I knew is dead...
She sighed and reached into the pocket of her jeans removing the card that had been given to her earlier. "Should I ring them?" She muttered to herself, it might be a stalker, or worse… A telemarketer… "What the hell is there to be afraid of?" She said and dialled the number.
The phone rang three times before it was answered, "Hello?" She said nervously.

Only hearing grunts and exclaims of pain through the phone, Taleyah frowned and disconnected the call, before closing her eyes and focusing. Her mind blank, Taleyah traced the mental patterns of the person who had given the number to her. She sensed a fight, and pain.
Running across the rooftops so she wasn’t spotted, Taleyah sought out the mind she was looking for. After reaching a bridge, Taleyah dropped down from the rooftops and dashed towards a large house, almost a mansion really. Finally, she had dashed the last hundred metres, her magic making her blur as she ran. The door was destroyed, pieces of it now lay smoking in the entranceway, a few still burning as Taleyah walked in, holding her blade.

Skulduggery saw Taleyah enter through the destroyed doorway and simply said, "How nice of you to come I'm Skulduggery." He took of his coat and jacket and used air magic to put the shards of wood next to each other grunting as he tried to rearrange the wood before using water magic to make the wood swell and expand before saying "That should hold it for now… Taleyah please take a seat old friend"
"I prefer to stand thank you," Taleyah said. "And who may this be?" She said nodding towards a girl on the couch, dressed only in black.
“Me?” Asked the girl, “I’m Valkyrie Cain.”
"Well, it is nice to see that one as young as you, Valkyrie is not afraid to speak for yourself."
"So Skulduggery, do I have to ask the question?"
Skulduggery cocked his skull "what question?" Skulduggery asked trying to add puzzlement to his voice… but failing.
"I think you know the one I mean Skulduggery"
When Skulduggery continued to act confused, she thought he had lost his brain when he came back to life.
After a small pause, Taleyah sighed and asked, "How the hell are you still alive?"
"…I'm not sure myself but when I died I willed myself to stay… So instead of moving on my 'soul' stayed behind and eventually returned to my body… or what was left of it. After the war, I went into hiding for years then came back after turning my anger and hatred into the personality I have now then I carried on fighting," he smiled "Where have you been? I’m famous in the magic world I’ve killed Vengeous and Serpine."
Valkyrie glared at him, and Skulduggery added “… With some help.”
"I have mostly been working in other countries for police, I especially enjoyed Italy"
She turned to Valkyrie "You are quite young Valkyrie; I hope Skulduggery hasn't been putting you in any danger?" Valkyrie struggled to stifle a laugh "What?" asked Taleyah "Did I say something funny?"
"It depends on what you mean by danger" said Skulduggery scratching his skull, Valkyrie laughed and said "Is fighting vampires, giant demi-gods, and powerful magicians dangerous?"
"I'm not sure."
Taleyah looked worried and Valkyrie burst out laughing.

"Oh, well, you seem to be able to take care of yourself then" She smiled, "You remind me of myself when I was your age and Skulduggery took me on board."
"Really?" asked Valkyrie
"Yes, but I was no good with the elements so he could not teach me much. We would travel through thick and thin together in search of a teacher, then there was the war." She paused, "I take it you already know about the war?" She asked.
Valkyrie looked at Taleyah as if she was stupid, "Yes… so how much control over the elements do you have?"
"I can do a little bit of air and a teeny bit of flame." She smiled
Skulduggery coughed, "Taleyah, may I ask if you are able to join myself and Valkyrie? We shall be meeting Tanith Low along the way."
"Ah...yes...I remember Tanith, she taught me the basics of fighting. Yes, I shall come with you."

The man stared helplessly at the syringe, his eyes widened and he started to squirm, Amlith frowned and kicked him in the stomach "Be still!" she shouted, the man let out a cry as the breath whooshed out of him, he gasped, trying to get oxygen. Amlith inspected the syringe and stared at the black liquid inside, she then glanced at the man who was to busy trying to re-gain his breath. She walked over and quickly stabbed the syringe into his neck and pushing on the plunger, forcing the liquid into his body. He yelped and tried to squirm away, but Amlith held him still. She then stepped back, the man twisted his head to look at her, stared blankly, and opened his mouth to say something, and then he slumped over...unconscious...or dead?

Amlith untied the body and was about to drag it into a cage, when she suddenly felt him twitch. He was waking. Amlith let him slum to and stepped back as he slowly rubbed his head and came to his knees. He suddenly made a low guttural growl causing Amlith to raise an eyebrow. The man opened his eyes, they were wild and blood red, seeming to glow from within, he opened his mouth revealing once dull ordinary teeth, now sharp as daggers. Amlith stared at him, the man...if not creature, was now dangerous. ...note to self, she thought, test something small first...
The man, now creature, stared at Amlith, eyeing her wearily, its red eyes glowing in the dim light. Amlith stared back, and eventually started moving backwards very slowly towards the worktop. She felt the surface meet her back and she fumbled around, not loosing eye contact with the beast. Her hand come into contact with the handle of a dagger, she smirked. Then without warning, she threw it. It would of been a direct hit to the throughout if the best hadn't merely nocked it out the way as if it was a needle. The best gave a roar, and then jumped at Amlith with incredible speed.
Amlith’s eyes widened as her dagger was battered away and quickly rolled to the side as the creature lunged, barely ducking the creature’s attack. It landed perfectly and Amlith quickly rolled to her knees, readying herself for the next pounce. She noticed that the creature had now grown claws and pointy ears, what the...? She thought. The creature pounced again, but this time it was too close to dodge. The creature landed on top of Amlith, roared and bit into her shoulder. Amlith screamed and desperately forced the jaws off her, leaving great teeth marks and blood on her collarbone.
Amlith quickly kicked the creature away from her, wincing at the pain in her shoulder. The creature spun around and jumped again, when Amlith held out her hand. Flames appeared on it and she hurled a fireball at the creature, catching it squarely in its chest. The creature gave a roar of pain and was flung backwards into a wall, where is fell to the ground, smoking. Amlith quickly grabbed the nearest dagger and threw it while the fire distracted the creature; the dagger struck the creature in the throat. The creature eyes widened and it collapsed roaring and howling until it hit the floor with a dull thump, falling silent at last.
Amlith stood there, breathing rapidly. She looked at the misshapen form of the man and sighed. It was lying on the floor, not moving. Amlith walked over and grabbed it under the arms. She winced at the pain, but started to drag it to a large cage into the corner, and then its eyes flicked open. Amlith’s heart beating hart, she had mealy stunned it. She quickly hauled it the rest of the way and flung it into the cage, slamming the door shut behind. She breathed a sigh, then unlocked the door and ran out into the daylight and snapped out her wings, jumped and flew. She spotted the building she was looking for and flew down to the door were she flung it open and ran inside, blood dripping to the ground below her.

What to do, what to do? Might as well visit the cafe, even though I'm not working today.

A woman who seemed to be in her late 20's or perhaps early 30's walked down the city streets, humming cheerfully to herself, eyes hidden behind her sunglasses. She stopped at an intersection and looked both ways before running across the street to a small cafe. She walked inside, the bell above the door ringing, and put on a big grin. "Hey everybody! I came for a visit!" She called, but was met with complete silence, not one reply.
Luci blinked, a little worried. "Guys . . .?”

It's just like them to go missing, too. Such ditzes, they are. . .
Luci sighed and shook her head, closing her eyes. She cleared her mind and didn't feel any different, but when she opened her eyes and looked down at her body, she was transparent enough to sneak around the cafe without being noticed too much--that is, until someone looked directly at her, if anyone looked in. Quietly, Luci made her way to the back room of the cafe. Her sights fell immediately onto a broken window, glass all over the floor. She looked closer, at the wall. "Oh God no. . . Is that blood?" she muttered, backing away slowly. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Indeed, it is."
"I am so sick and tired of people sneaking up on me!" She shouted before throwing a punch at the man who had snuck up on her, catching him square in the jaw. There was an unpleasant cracking noise, but Luci didn't stay to gloat. Instead, her eyes grew wide and she turned, running quickly out of the back room of the cafe and then out of the cafe altogether. Her heart racing, she tore down the sidewalk, now completely transparent, avoiding people as she passed. She turned down a dark alley and stopped, hiding behind a large dumpster, and made herself visible once again. "Oh my God. . . Where are they? They weren't even magic; why would someone take them?"
"All right. . . Just stay calm. Not that you aren't trying to already, but. . ."

With shaking hands, she pulled out her cell phone and was about to dial the police, but stopped at the first number. Do I really want to do this? Could I do this? They don't know about the magical world; how could I explain why my co-workers were taken? She thought numbly, her hand limp. She gripped the phone and dialled the number.

"Hello, police? Yes, I just walked into the cafe that I work at and I think my co-workers have been kidnapped. . ."

"So you're sure you don't know who did this?"
"Mon Dieu. Listen, not to be rude, officer, but I've said it so many times already! No, I do not know who did it!"
Luci sighed, rubbing her temples. "Okay, officer, I'm sorry, but you're not much help. I am sort of a detective; I'll figure it out on my own. Goodbye." she hung up, and shook her head. Checking to see if the coast was clear, she stood, slinking out of the alley and onto the sidewalk, sticking near a group of tourists in order to keep hidden.
Safe place, safe place. . . Um. . . Kenspeckle's place! Yeah. That works. Have to go there...

Luci was a quarter of the way to see Kenspeckle before she stopped at the corner of a street, blinking. Wouldn't they expect that, though? I mean, Kenspeckle is the best at magical maladies and the like. Wouldn't it be just like me to see him first, just in case? Her shoulders drooped in defeat before she suddenly perked up again. "Duh! China's Library!" she muttered to herself, refraining from slapping herself on the forehead.

China might know what's going on. After that, then I will visit Kenspeckle.
"I'm sorry my dear, but I don't have any information for you regarding these kidnappings."

Luci looked completely downtrodden. "Oh. . . Well, thanks anyways, China." she brushed her bangs back behind her ears and sighed. "I guess I'll go visit Kenspeckle. Maybe I'm just imagining things or something. See ya." After a brief wave good-bye, Luci shuffled out of the Library and down the stairs, exiting the building and heading to Kenspeckle's place.

I hope that Kenspeckle can help me. Somehow. . .

Valkyrie was on the motorbike with Tanith and Skulduggery was driving Taleyah. They were heading for China's library. Skulduggery asked Taleyah "I'm solving a murder and also teaching Valkyrie so I’m in need of help." "I've got Tanith who is like a sister to Valkyrie, teaching her how to fight, I'm teaching her magic, and so I need someone that can follow clues. How have you been since the war? Did you find that guy that killed your friend?"

"I do believe that I can help you with any detective work that you need doing." She said to Skulduggery, "No, I have not yet found him, I have not had the time. There are too many other criminals to catch and never enough clues about that guy."
They reached the Library and headed for the building. "So, Tanith. How have you been? I have not seen you in a long time."
"Oh I’ve been great, except I almost had my guts pulled out because of Mr Skeleton over there! Multiple times." She said loudly, Skulduggery sighed.
"Hmm, what happened?"
"Oh, you know those Cleavers? Well Serpine had turned one of them bad and I was left with a massive hole in my back."
"Ouch. Hello China, long time, no see" She greeted China with a wary smile as they walked into the library.
"Hello Taleyah."
Last time Taleyah had seen China was in the war, she whispered to Skulduggery, "Are you sure it is safe to be with her?

Footsteps echoed through the building, with the occasional curse as someone bumped into a wall as Amlith raced up the flights of stairs. She eventually made the final dash into the library and spotted who she was looking for, before running to them. The pain in her shoulder gave a great throb and she was loosing blood rapidly, she tried to open her mouth to say something. However, she collapsed on the ground in front of Valkyrie, Skulduggery, Taleyah, Tanith, and China.

Skulduggery pointed out the obvious "We need a doctor" Valkyrie whipped out her phone but Skulduggery stopped her. "We need a doctor that knows about this world, can I use your phone?"
"Here" said Valkyrie. Skulduggery was hopeless so Valkyrie just took the phone back and said, "What's the number?"
Skulduggery told her the number as China chimed in, “She’s got blood on my carpet… You’re paying to remove that Skulduggery…”

Taleyah's own phone beeped "I'm sorry everybody, I would stay to help but I have to go. I have just received a text message saying that the Police have need of my services. I will be back as soon as possible though." Taleyah waved to the group as she left, carefully avoiding a small pool of blood outside the library as she walked out.

Alruvian turned on his cell, and was just about to make an important call to the Sanctuary, when he received a text from a person of the name of Valkyrie Cain. She had claimed to know Skulduggery, his old friend from before the war, he had been tracking him for a while now, but he had heard reports that Skulduggery had died in the war. "Hello" "Hello, Mr. Alruvian" "Umm just call me Alruvian, it is my first name, who are you to be texting me saying you know my dead friend," "I do know your friend, yes," "But you sound too young to know him" "and…?" “My friend died years ago." "Yeah, yeah, enough of that, just get to the Library of Woodelme Street" "You mean China's library" "Yeah… Stop stalling."
30 minutes later Alruvian was at China's library standing outside wondering wether to go in or to dismiss it as a prank.
When Alruvian finally decided to go in to China's library, Skulduggery was looking at him with a giant smirk on his face, and whispered to Valkyrie "Hmm... reminds me a little of someone we know, now only if he had a straight razor and a pair of sunglasses…" "What the hell are you saying about me? You old… Oh my god you’re a skeleton!”

“Get back I know magic, China, call up the damn security there’s a skeleton in the building." "Well Taleyah certainly reacted better," Skulduggery said, dumbfounded.

Ξ

Amlith's eyes flickered open, and she found herself staring at a white room. She glanced over at someone who was standing over her, Kenspeckle, "what..." Amlith started, Kenspeckle raised an eyebrow. "What happened..." she said unsteadily.
“ I was hoping you would be able to answer that for me, you have a large open wound on your shoulder... I had someone patch it up, and they seem to be teeth-marks...human teeth marks." Amlith stared at him uncertainly and tried to sit up but she gasped as a searing pain flooded her system, then she jolted up, crying out at the pain but at the same time remembering something. Kenspeckle stared at her. "Lay back down" he commanded, "you have to be rested, There’s no way your going to get better like that."
"No!" Amlith gasped, Kenspeckle tilted his head "no? Listen here young lady, I am a doctor, I know these types of things and if your going to-"
"No!" Amlith interrupted, making him go silent. "It’s important, I remember were my wound came from now!"
Kenspeckle just sighed and walked out, closing the door behind him, despite Amlith’s shouts of protest.

"Kenspeckle is she awake?" asked Skulduggery as the old doctor closed the door.
“ You can see her," Kenspeckle said with a sigh, reopening the door.
Everyone was there Taleyah, Valkyrie, Tanith and Alruvian. Alruvian approached Skulduggery.
"Oh my god, what the hell is this, you're telling me you’re Skulduggery?"
Alruvian wondered what could have happened to make Skulduggery possibly be this skeleton, how was it that he was only bone, but still talking and moving.

"I died, didn't move to the next life, and came back near the end of the war then when into hiding" Said Skulduggery "What has happened to you?"

"…Oh you know killed a few guys, killed one of Melvolent's commanders, and then ran away from the war, kinda cowardly but who gives a damn, Sometimes the cowards live. Besides, I had business to attend too, such as chasing down a few leads that would assist to the winning of the war. I took out the enemies food supply by myself for a whole 2 months, I hear they resorted to cannibalism, and the ones that were in our Jails were thankful when they heard. Then when I was on my way back to war, we had won and I heard you had died and your wife and children with you..."
"Anyway what’s with you taking on an apprentice? It’s not like you at all, and quite an ingenious name she came up with... 'The Troublesome Hero'" He said with a look of immense admiration. Shaking his head slightly, Skulduggery entered the room, the others following behind him.

Amlith looked up as the door opened and noticed Skulduggery.
"Hello...detective." Amlith said, clearing her throat. "Listen, I’ll get straight to the point, I seem to have a little trouble on my hands. I’m stuck in a hospital bed and have been told to rest" She said, an annoyed look passing over her face, '' and I know I never ask for favours, but, I have something I "accidentally" made and since it is dangerous, I’m going to need you to dispose of it. It’s in the old warehouse in the cellar in a cadge, keys are in a small box on the table." there was silence for a second then,
"Yeah...but I’m a dete-"
"just do it!" she snapped.

Ξ

Skulduggery was in the warehouse with Valkyrie. Skulduggery was complaining, "Why ask a fully trained detective who has important work like learning about the internet. To destroy an experiment...." Valkyrie found the keys opened the cage and took the syringe lying on the ground near it. Out of the cage strode a huge beast, its large claws clicking on the concrete ground. It jumped at Valkyrie and swung at her with a claw, but because of the coat from Ghastly, it did not manage to draw blood, though she was knocked a metre back, right into a wall. Skulduggery pushed the beast against the wall with a wave of air and slammed him to the floor head first knocking the beast out Skulduggery lifted the beast up and put him in the cage.

Alruvian watched the work of Skulduggery from the warehouse entrance still unnoticed as he hid in the shadows. He started to contemplate how shoddy Skulduggery’s fighting had gotten, there was simply no thought in these attacks, he'd completely forgotten he was a flimsy skeleton, and that the monster had bone cracking claws, but yet it worked, if he had tried it himself he'd be in Kenspeckle’s within the hour, but Skulduggery was coming out of it unscratched. He noticed the syringe had been knocked out of Valkyrie's hand; stealthily walking towards it, Alruvian grabbed the syringe then rolled into the corner.
He took the syringe point facing behind him, safety first, and then leaped up, yet another time he had wished he were an adept to simply walk on the walls, but he caught the lighting pole and scurried his way to window at the opposite side of the warehouse and landed on the window sill.
“Ah, Skulduggery, you were here to destroy this weren’t you?” Alruvian said whilst snapping the syringe in half with an aggressive look on his face.

Luci opened the door and walked in, finally finding Kenspeckle eating a sandwich in a small room near the patients.
"Hey Kenspeckle, I need some help."
"You don't look like it."
"I'm not hurt; I need to know if you've heard anything about kidnappings lately."
"And why would I hear anything like that? I spend most of my time here, not out in the world."
"Well, two of my co-workers were kidnapped from work. I only noticed when I went in earlier to visit them. Some man tried to attack me, but I managed to escape. I was hoping somebody would know who did It." she sighed. "I guess not, though."
"Why not ask that skeleton? He's always out doing something dangerous, maybe he knows."
"Who? Skulduggery? That is true, but you know my past; do you really think he would trust me? I was with Serpine's side after all."
"You never know until you try. And you won't know who took your friends until you ask someone who's been out in the world more than I have." Kenspeckle smiled, and Luci smiled as well.
"See you later, Kenspeckle."

Wait... was that Skulduggery?

No sooner had Luci stepped out of the old theater then she caught sight of a group of people. Luci recognized Tanith Low and Skulduggery, but there were people with them who she didn't recognise. Ignoring that, as she was sure she would probably meet them later, she waited a second before following them inside. Acting as if she had just arrived, she came over to Kenspeckle.

"Hey, what happened?" she asked, giving him a look that told him to play along.
"Valkyrie here got hurt doing some obviously dangerous job." Kenspeckle replied, with a disapproving look at Skulduggery.
"Ouch." Luci stated when she saw the wound.

Amlith came out of her room as she herd the new arrivals come in, she walked over and clapped "well done." she said sarcastically coming to a stop at skulduggery. "It wasn’t that hard you know, I told you Valkyrie wasn’t worthy of fighting, but did you listen? Nooo..."
Skulduggery tilted his head slightly.
"Well you could have done it...,” he grumbled, Amlith raised an eyebrow.
“Yes, I could of, but Kenspeckle wont let me leave until my wound has healed." she scowled. "In fact, I would of carried on fighting with it until it was dead if I hadn’t known that I was going to faint and be a target." Skulduggery raised his hands in defence.
"Alright, alright...I’ll do a better job next time." Amlith nodded, than turned to Alruvian and stuck out her hand.
"I heard about it all; news gets around fast these days. Well done."

"It was nothing, “Alruvian said, finishing with a big victory smile.
“ So I suppose ill see you all again some time soon, I hope!"
"Don’t worry you will" Skulduggery answered with a face of admiration, although that’s difficult with his face locked in a perpetual grin, "Is that supposed to be an encouragement face?" Alruvian questioned.
"Sure make fun of the skeleton," Skulduggery answered with his head tilted down towards the ground.
"Well at least you still have body language, except face that is… yeah I’m going to go before I end having to spend the night here due to a broken skull."

Skulduggery turned to Amlith. "Who left a beast in the room?"

"Eh..." Amlith coughed uneasily "...me, I was experimenting, the guy was innocent, I had no idea it was going to go wrong, but now I know what happened I wont use it again." her head drooped slightly.
"If I wasn't such a nice guy I would report you." said Skulduggery "But I don't know about anyone else, if someone finds out, be prepared to go and see the elders."
Amlith’s head tilted "Hey, you cant blame me, I was under Serpine’s control for a long time... you cant just expect me to come out all fine and dandy straight away, but in any case-" she suddenly went quiet and sighed "...thank-you," she mumbled almost silently, staring down at the floor. Amlith paused for a moment then looked back up and raised an eyebrow, acting as if she had not said anything. "Anyway, I was experimenting; I didn't think anyone would miss the guy."

"Ok I’ll let you off" he paused "This time."
Amlith nodded and shrugged "Alright...I was only thinking about people getting hurt when I got you lot to kill it, so at least I have some good in me, right?" she stepped back and crouched slightly "but you have to ask yourself something, detective." Her wings snapped open. "Will you get me next time?" she smirked, jumped and shot upwards.
Skulduggery called after her "And what’s that meant to mean?" he got no reply though, only the draft of her beatings wings.

Luci had to fight back the chuckle that wanted to escape her lips.

"Um, no offense, Detective, but you kind of totally just got burned." She paused. "Well, at least, it seemed like it. I don't know... Meh." she gave a shrug, and gave an apologetic grin.
"Hey, I was wondering if you heard of anyone kidnapping people for anything. Cause two friends of mine were kidnapped some time today, just before I went to visit them at work."
"Burned…? Young people these days,” Skulduggery said with a sigh, “I’ve heard of a kidnapping though. What do they look like?"

Luci paused, looking thoughtful. "Well, they're both blond, although one of them is more reddish-blond. The blond one's name is Nanette and the other is Juliette, and they’re cousins. Juliette is about five feet; Nanette is about five foot seven. Both of them have blue eyes and pale-ish skin." she tilted her head to the side, thinking still. "I don't know what they were wearing today, though, because the cafe had just opened about five or ten minutes before I visited." She blinked, remembering something else.

"I think I was attacked by the kidnapper, too; some man came after me when I came into the back room."

Alruvian snorted, "Have you questioned on the fact that Amlith may have taken them for her experiments, I mean she took one innocent, she could take plenty more." Skulduggery tilted his head in confusion.

"Was the man tall with a long leather coat, bald and had purple tinted skin?"

"So were sure it’s a man then… Amlith must be a cross dresser... That was a joke,” Alruvian added as the other two stared at him. “So yeah was it? We kinda need to know, because he doesn't want to do the fun stuff without knowing some of the details."
"Have you also noticed her rabbit teeth?" He said, making a goofy face before adding, "I’m sorry that was mean"
"Ok Alruvian you've made your point you don't like Amlith… Unless it’s the opposite"
“We’ll you’re leaving you’re options open…”

“… What are you going with the purple skin thing? It just doesn't sound right," Questioned Alruvian.
"Oh in the war there were a few people that got magically enhanced and made a slave, a bit like White Cleaver that attacked Tanith." As an afterthought, Skulduggery added "But the enchantment makes their skin purple and they use purple coloured magic… Which is actually quite similar to Serpine’s…"
"What the hell? It was that chemical science stuff that did it, I told them damn higher ups that it was a bad idea showing the non-magical people chemical sciences..."
"This is no science." Claimed Skulduggery, "I've got nothing against science, but it isn't strong enough for the power that these people use…"

Luci frowned lightly, but instead busied herself with helping Kenspeckle with a few things. "You know, sometimes I worry about the side I chose. . ." she said, half truthfully, half joking.
"Sometimes I worry the same thing about you. It's hard to keep ones sanity around the skeleton." Kenspeckle shook his head, though a small grin was on his face.
Luci chuckled. "Kenspeckle, that's so mean!" she gently nudged his shoulder, and continued stacking some boxes on a shelf.

Once Skulduggery finally stopped talking Alruvian walked back to Luci and Skulduggery followed, like a lap dog, "So yeah, he has some strange suspicion that someone was using some magical substance that turned people purple, I said it’s a science magic, he wouldn't believe that. After a long discussion, we remembered some scientist during the war discovered a substance that gives mortals, magic. Although it drives them insane and makes them completely obedient to who ever turned them that way, it also makes them purplish..." Alruvian finished with a proud smile at Skulduggery as if to say, see I am not dumb. "And yes this was around the time of the war. We believe that a user of this substance may have taken your friends" Alruvian finished with a sympathetic apologetic face.

Luci stared at Alruvian and paused, a stack of manila folders in her hands before blinking and saying "I see. . ."

She put the folders on a bookshelf and turned to them, head tilted to the side. "That's good that we know who might have done it, but my question is why they did it. Is there any known reason as to why?" she asked, brushing her bangs out of her eyes.

Alruvian paused, opened his mouth to speak and then stopped. Luci sighed and turned back to the shelf.

“Sacrifices. They’re probably going to be sacrifices.” Stated Skulduggery.

[End Of Chapter 1]

((Ye Gods, some major inconsistencies in some of these posts… Stalker Turtles character in the Introduction section is apparently 14, yet in one of his posts, it says that he knew Skulduggery when he was alive… Over 100 years ago. So there have been edits to peoples words. The major story stays the same, but now makes more sense.))
