Since their formation in 1997, Dir en Grey has come a long way musically.
With each album a new sound has emerged,
gaining and losing fans in the process,
all the while becoming more and more well known.
Over the years their music has evolved from a more catchy rock/pop based sound into a heavier darker style of metal, hitting everything in between on their way to what they are today.
What's your favorite era of Dir en Grey career Wish?
Personally I prefer their more recent works,
but I'm a fan of all their stuff.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the name before, and maybe something about them. Sounds interesting. I'll check it out for sure.

OH, MY GOD. HOLY HOLY HOOOOOOLY.
You have no idea how much I love Dir En Grey! I was about to make a thread for them here... O___O
I'm drawing a kick a** picture of Kyo currently too. >:3
I'd have to say I like their more recent stuff... Uroboros is so good. e.e
Eeeerg I can't really pick a specific era of them though. ;__;
Have you seen that one live performance of Garden? Lol, like that's not vague... it's the only 10 minute one on YouTube I think. There are a few duplicates but the first one when you type in Dir En Grey Live Garden is the one I'm talking about, back when they were in the VK fad. ^^
Sorry for rambling, ha ha, I'm just so effing excited SOMEONE here listens to them. Ugh. It's not even funny how good Kyo's voice is. o.o;
Even though sometimes, I won't lie, it sounds bad-- like at the Concert For Hide, his voice sounded bad in Obscure... but I still love him. Can't wait for their new stuff. C:<
