Rue sighed heavily as she trudged home from a unsuccessful day. Titan had found much better things to do than help her find their daughter. The only thing she felt more strongly than her depression, was sheer rage. He didn't know how to be a father, nor a mate!
He assumed that all their were to being mates were saying you were. Nothing else to it. The same going as a father. He'd never cared about the children, ever. Snorting at her rolling thoughts, Rue caught sight of were Titan and her had been spending their nights for the passed few days.
She had a feeling someone would be moving on tonight.

 Titan snorted, his claws absently tearing at the grass beneath, as his eyes and ears flickered constantly. He was practically a ball of stress and unreleased rage. He had thought that Rue and he were doing the right thing, raising their pups together in supportive ways, yet still remaning strict. But still... still... their little daughter, Trinity, had ran off, been kidnapped, eaten, possibly, or, well, something. She had made a friend, which had raised his spirits some. He didn't know much about raising pups, but it was a good thing, right?
He supposed he had gotten careless. Perhaps concieted, thinking himself to be a natural father. He didn't spend as much time secretly stalking watching over his children (Victoria seemed pleased) and then, just like that, Trinity had gone. Axel was still here, thank the gods, and Titan wasn't too worried. Really, it was obvious, even to him, that Axel wouldn't just leave without telling anybody.
But that didn't change the fact that his daughter was gone, was still gone, as she had been for the past few days. Really, he wouldn't just be sitting around if he wasn't at such a loss of what to do. He wondered if it was his fault, Rue's fault, both of their fault. Was it something else? Axel? Her new friend which she had ceased speaking about? Who? What?
The thoughts still on his stressed mind, he stood, having caught scent of his mate, Rue. He padded over to her and spoke, his voice low. "No sign of her, again?" he said, a bit more angry and slightly sarcastic than he had intended.

Rue shook her head solemnly. "No.." her voice croaked, anger flooding beneath her whisper. "She hasn't been seen by anyone I've spoken to.." shaking her head in dismal, Rue passed Titan.
Accidentally she bumped shoulders with him, her fur bristling. With out turning around or meeting his eyes, a growl rumbling in her chest. She didn't want to fight him - or at least consciously she didn't. She kept walking, forcing each step she took as to not turn around and attack her 'mate.'

"I see." Titan said, disappointment obvious in his voice. He looked away solemnly, an action which could easily be mistake as one of disgust, and sighed. He was about to speak again when he felt his mate bump against him. Having been too busy looking away, he thought it was intentional, and couldn't help but to snarl.
During the times he spent with her, he had gotten more used to being so close with another, but old habits were hard to break, and her sudden contact, along with her agressive growl, were taken the wrong way.
"It's not my fault she's suddenly left." he growled suddenly. It was a fear of his, one he tried to keep secret, that he was disliked enough by his own pup for her to have run off.

She swung around and snarled madly, "No one said it was!" Her lips pulled back and her teeth shone in the setting sun's bright rays. "I didn't say anyone was at fault! The tone you used seem to make me think you blame me!" She stomped her front paw down on the dirt ground, her muscles shaking and quivering under her silver pelt.
"She is gone Titan! GONE. Gods only know where she may be!" Shaking her head roughly, her eyes watered with tears. "You can't even leave this damn area to help me find her!" She paused, her breathing shuddering and out of control. Squinting her eyes to clear the tears, they opened narrowed to look Titan in the eye. Her voice low but dark Rue whispered, "I am through with you. Until you can show some caring for me and your other children besides Victoria, don't think I'll be coming back..."
Before Rue could hear his response, or even a noise of his, she darted into the surrounding trees, crying and panting. Her legs burned as they worked harder for every second, she felt he stomach heavy at the thought of being near that male.
At first.. she thought Titan was trying to catch up with her. There was a figure chasing her down that looked a lot like Titan but the voice that called out wasn't his. It was his brothers.

"I... I wasn't--" Titan started defensively, but was cut off by his angered mate. He flattened his ears with reluctant shame. She was right, and he knew it. He kept thinking that if both of them left, and Trinity returned, she would leave again if she discovered both her parents gone. He also knew that if either he, Rue, or both of them were the cause of her disappearance, him staying around wouldn't help, but that didn't change the fact that he was still unwilling to leave.
Rue's next comment surprised him, and he looked up at her, startled. He was too bewildered to say anything, and when he found his voice, it was too late.

Ark called again, hoping to get her to slow down, "Rue! Please stop!" He'd been wandering around the area when he'd heard her yell. Coming to see what was the trouble, he'd only caught a glance of her hasty retreat. She certainly was easier talking to than his brother. He followed her for a little while, seeing when she'd stopped. When she didn't... he went with his next course of action.
He pushed his well toned body harder, his legs easily catching up to pace with her. "Rue, stop it and tell me what's wrong," he yelled to her, having to dive over a log as she kept running forward, not looking to him. She shook her head, barely even that much. Ark knew how stubborn she could be and he didn't have the time. It was almost nightfall. Ark sighed and leaped in front of her, causing Rue to coming barreling into Ark full speed.
They rolled to the ground, in a very awkward position. Ark was male... he had male needs and urges. He tried to hold himself steady but the adrenaline rush he was getting held to much for him to bare. He stared down at Rue with very intense eyes... "Rue.." he said, in a much more deep and huskier voice than that he had been using when he was trying to catch up with her.

Rue had been consumed with pain so the sudden impact of a blunt force she hadn't seen coming knocked her back a little. She was pinned under a larger body but the way her head was lodged, she could easily recognize it. It was Ark, for Christ's sake. What was with this family? Like you can't loose them.
Rue was feeling her own rush. With twilight so close, Ark looked so much more attractive. She'd always found Ark that way. Just now her need for love and her lust was enhancing all that. Especially the look in his eyes. She felt waves of emotions drowning her in the moment. All of her instincts were calling for what nature intended. And that's when the last bit of sun set and the animal instincts were uncaged.

Titan huffed, his pace slow with regret. His head and tail were low as he thought over what happened, and he realizied he shouldn't have been so harsh. They were both stressed from the recent event. They had tried their best. It wasn't their fault... as far as he knew.
Sighing sadly, he sat in his previous spot, lying his head down on his paws.
[Fast Forward]
It had been a while since the incident. He had started moving around more, actively searching, just for an excuse to avoid his mate. But he had found nothing, and he was getting lonely. Axel was getting older, and liked to travel. Victoria had found a mate, and was taking care of her new family. He knew he was easily irritated around his brother, so he didn't bother looking for him, and he was still too stubborn to apoligize to Rue.
Things weren't going so well.

Rue rested in the shade of a large pine tree, her thoughts running around rampant. She was expecting... again. By the brother of the father of her first surviving litter. She still hadn't found her daughter. And Ark was starting to stick to her a little more. She knew he was fearing what she already knew, and she appreciated it that he wasn't going to bail. She knew she had to tell Titan. She had to at least see him.
Standing shakily, Rue trotted in the direction for her probably soon to be ex mate.. the father of her 2 kids. Her stomach clenched at the thought of it being only on kid... She heaved a sigh and slunk towards the direction she assumed he'd be.

Ark, who had been resting beside Rue stirred when she stood. Yawning quietly, he stood with her. "Where are we headed," he asked and the serious face he saw on her told him that he should remain quiet and only follow. Nodding, that she was looking at him, Ark kept a slower pace than Rue as she made her way towards Titan's scent.
Mentally, Ark was a wreck. He wouldn't fight Titan today. Not ever, so long as his drive was because he'd impregnated his mate. Titan didn't know how to treat a woman, that enough was clear. It was his own fault that Rue was pushed into Ark's arms... At least that's what Ark had told him self. Titan may love Rue.. he just didn't know how to show it.

Titan, taking a short break from his search, was resting beside a fallen tree. He was despairing at the thought of never seeing his daughter again. Would he always be cursed to lose a pup, in every litter? he thought, teeth clenched, brows furrowed.
Shaking himself, and the thoughts away, he stood, preparing to start again, when the familiar sounds of Rue's pawsteps reached him. He paused, ears lowering slightly in anticipation of another fight.

It wasn't long before she saw Titan standing alone.. and stoney. His ice cold stare felt like knives in her chest as she kept walking towards him. She was waiting for the reaction she was sure Ark would incite. Titan probably will never see coming the news she had that would change them for the rest of their lives. Including Ark's.
She paused, a few yards in front of him and sat. She kept her face serious. She was sure it looked aged. She didn't have to have anyone tell her that. Her tail was limp and her body motionless. "..Titan. I'm going to have a litter of pups with Ark." There. Out in the open. It was over. Rue closed her eyes, bracing herself for the attack she was positive Titen would do.

Ark had locked eyes with Titan just as soon as he could see his figure. Ark walked steady and strong, not wanting to seem weak. He watched out of the corner of his eyes as Rue sat quietly and so still. She looked... radient but weathered. Pausing with her, Ark waited.
His stomach dropped when she had put it so bluntly. Well.. she really wanted to see Titan set off didn't she? He didn't let the shock or wariness show on his face. It stayed neutral as he kept in eye contact with Titan. As much as he could.

Titan, upon notcing Ark, raised his lips. What, were they ganging up on him, now? he wondered angrily, tail lashing. Even if he knew it was dangerous around his growing pups -- or, pup -- he couldn't bring himself to take off his armor, and the barbs on his tail glared menacingly when it caught in a ray of sunlight through the trees.
When Rue spoke, though, her words caught him completely off guard. He was silent for a long while, too shocked to register what he had just heard. He had expected a fight; verbal, physical, both, possibly, but a quarrel nonetheless; not this. More pups? A litter? With his brother, of all helixes? Was she mad? He would have understood if the loss of Trinity had hurt her that much, but... Ark?
"What?" he gasped out. But he didn't wait for an answer, because soon, he was charging straight for Ark.
