Sooo...My band camp starts tomorrow and im looking forward to it!
But it is kinda like boot camp...we cant talk, move, sneeze, itch and last year he even told us not to breath
I love our band director but sometimes he can go alittle overboard at camp
What i have to ask is is ur band camp or band itself like boot camp or military style?

Nah, we get pushups for punishments and stuff, but other wise it is pretty relaxed. Except for when we are setting drill. People try to mess around but because of the heat tempers get pretty short pretty quick.

My BD is like that too, for our punishment though we get push-ups. It's serioulsy like a boot-camp. My Band Camp Already started, last Monday. We still have this coming week, and three days the week after that. :3 I hate it. >.>

The BD at my school doesn't encourage exercises to be punishment, he mainly just encourages us to memorize our music and stay fit.

We do lot's of 825's for punishment.
our drum major is strict this year.
(btw... 825's is basically a marching exersize.)

ours is pretty chill... i mean, my director danced for us everyday this year and he sings for us in the morning

People try to mess around but because of the heat tempers get pretty short pretty quick. Dang. That sounds like MY band camp. xD Where'd you go for yours? o.o ----- Band camp wasn't so bad. It was my first time there, though. The camp was pretty relaxed. Wake-up call was at 7 (lots of us got up at 6 for showers), and breakfast was at 8. We had to be on the field by 9 for stretches and setting drill. We usually did that with water breaks periodically until lunchtime. After lunch we had sectionals, and then we went back into the cafeteria for a show-and-tell (show everyone what we did and play through the show...). And then we went to the field until dinner, and after dinner we set drill again, had a drill down, and went to bed. It wasn't so bad. I wouldn't say it was boot-camp or military. o.o

I camp from camp that's like that just a few weeks ago! sea Cadet Summer camp Training facility. It's both military and boot camp style I guess.

PuNISHMENTS:
1.talk -- 10 pushups
2.talk back-- 10 laps
3.cuss--5 laps
4. dont hussle-- 50 pushups
eh its not that bad, not that its that enforced

Ours is pretty relaxed until the last two days. Then everyone is tired and achy and sweaty, including the directors, so we get yelled at for moving a little before he tells us to relax from our set position. And you even get in trouble for sitting out for an injury, like I was. Also we had to run a lap a few times for not counting loud enough. But nothing too extreme.

PRIDE!
Our Band camp was Military Style. Usually camp is pretty relaxed though. last year about 3 people brought their Xbox 360's and Halo 3 and most of the band played Halo most of the break time. The worse part was our Director was playing too and he was Pwning ALL of us!

But my BD/Drum major will make ya go 2 825 forward and 2 825's backwards. Dx We're pretty relaxed.. I mean we got away with dumping a whole cooler of water on our BD. XD
