Can someone explain to me something about Fleur Delecour? I heard that she was half Vela. I basically don't remember anything about the fourth book. (I read it five years ago.) So can someone explain to me what a Vela is, it couldn't be too far from a human because she looked more than perfect in the movie.
Thanks!

ok then since the movie lacked the fact she IS part veela ill tell you.
Veela (noun) ve-la
a woman shaped creature, hair that glows and skin that shines like the moon, very beautiful and has a power to make men overreact to the point of death. Men would do anything for her. When mad, a veela'a head turns into that of a hawk and gose on a rampage. Considered very Dangerous.
just made the dictionary enrty format up but the info was true

Fleur isn't half veela. She was a quarter veela. Her 'grandmuzzer' was a veela. We find this out because Fleur's wand contains a strand of hair from her grandma's head (veela hair contains magical power)
The only veela charicteristics Fleur is supposed to have is shimmering blonde hair and an unnatural allure to boys.

Is it possible to say that a veela is a form of Siren that J.K made up? Cuz think about it Sirens and Veela sound similar now don't they ? their characteristics, their traits ,their habits.

I noticed a lot of similarites between JK's magical creatures and those in Lord of the Rings, and other mythical tales. I know you have to have some of the classics (dragons, centuars, etc.) but some that seem orignial aren't really that original (ex. Dementors v. Ring Wraiths).
