it's ok...but i strongly suggest you keep playing trumpet, as well...and probably you should get a private teacher, so you can get the embouchure right.

I play Alto. It's, in my opinion, a lot better than trumpet. The Alto people are nicer too, all the trumpets at my school have humongous egos even though they're not that good/

NeoRaptor99 agreed but i do like how some instruments sound better than others like I prefer to listen to a clarinet or trumpet than a flute but its just what i like some people prefer flute if it's played well, i love to listen to any instrument. biggrin they all have cool little qualities that i like. although clarinet and saxophone are my favorite razz that might just be because i play those, though.

as a trumpet player, i have to be biased and tell you to stick to it.
as a jazz lover, i have to tell you that, though the Trumpet is a great unstrument with a wonderful sound, so is the saxophone, and I would encourage you to expand yourself in the musical world by switching.
And as an all-out bassoon lover, I would have to add to the conversation on beautiful sounding instruments by agreeing that all instruments have wonderful qualities, but the bassoon still reigns as superiour for beautiful voices for me.
biggrin heart sweatdrop

I'd say learn as many as you can. The more well rounded you are, the more opportunity you can get later in life with whatever you want to do.

Well technically not. I didn't claim to be better than them. I left it open enough for that. And I did add in "In my opinion." I never said, "Every single trumpet is better than me." What I meant was, usually, if there is someone who is immensely full of them self, the first guess would be that they play trumpet. And I worded my reply wrong. I meant, that even if they aren't that good, they will claim to be. (not all of them, of course) And I'll say now, no I am not an expert player. I will say I'm "good" who knows, maybe I'm not. Its just, I really love music, I'm not going to say that I'm not good. If it was years ago, yes, I would say I was really bad, but I've put a lot of work into it, I'm not going to belittle that. And no, I'm not claiming to be great, or amazing. I'd say I'm good, or at least decent though. And you were perfectly fine to stereotype piccolos, or to defend someone stereotyping them. I've other people with big ego's that don't play trumpet, but still. The most arrogant person I know, joined band. What did they play? you guess. (They quit) All the "popular" people who are full of themselves joined band in middle school, hey! they ALL played trumpet. Hey! maybe where you guys live, its different. My statement was gathered from previous experiences.

My statement was gathered from previous experiences. what do i know, maybe it is that you just worded your post wrong, i guess i worded mine a little weird as well. i should have said "you think your instrument is better than theirs"(which is what you said"alto, in my opinion, is better than trumpet") but even still, your ego is your opinion of yourself...so saying "in my opinion" doesn't really negate the whole "ego" issue...and if you haven't been able to tell by reading my posts, i just like to argue. i'll point out something contradictory about someone's post and make an argument out of it. even if i'm not arguing for something i necessarily believe. a lot of times i won't have a strong opinion for either side of the argument.
