The storm had seemed to come out of nowhere, and although he didn't want to admit it, Loopy knew that he was too far from his den to try and get to it through the heavy downpour. Not with a seriously injuried pup in his mouth and another pup following along behind him at least. The kerl frowned as he paused and looked around through the rain before he spotted the small opening of a cave in the distance. He hurried over and soon ducked inside the small, yet dry, shelter. Loopy frowned lightly and gently set the golden pup he'd been carrying down on the cool stone floor. "You two wait right here, alright? I need to try to find something to stop the bleeding with." Loopy explained before he turned and headed back out into the wet. Although it took a bit of searching, the male soon found what he was looking for. It was a patch of herbs that were known to stop bleeding. He gently gathered some up and high tailed it back to the cave. The pups were right where they had been when he left and he sighed in relief. "Alright, I found something. Sit tight while I get it ready."
Balin was soaking wet and cold, but he knew that his brother had to feel ten times worse. "Okay, but please hurry." The silver colored pup replied as he curled closer to his shivering brother. There was so much blood, and no matter how he licked at Heret's face, it never seemed to go away. "He's still bleeding really bad." The pup whispered, looking pleadinly at Loopy. "I'm really scared for him."
Heret shivered against his brother, the other's presence realiving. "P-please hurry, my face really hurts." He rasped, his tail tucked completely between his legs. He was getting sleepy too and was ready to pass out at any moment.

Jet flattened his ears, pressing close against a tree. He shivered with cold and picked absently at a bid of mud between his toes, scanning the area for signs of shelter. Last time he had tried to stay out in a storm hadn't really worked so well, and he knew better this time. Unfortunately, the strom had been sudden, unexpected, and was quick to come. Jet hadn't had ample time to find decent shelter (really, you'd think he'd know by now to find one beforehand) and was close to panicking.
He ran on ahead, ears flickering, nose twitching, and finally, when the rain had been puring for a few moments, he found a cave. He loped across to it, pausing when a large varg and pup close by went in. He stayed where he was, wondering what kind of varg lived there and if he'd be allowed in.
He watched curiously as the large one left and came, and finally, he just decided he'd go in. If anyone had a problem with it, then tough luck, he wasn't going to go look for another cave or stay in the rain any longer. With that thought in mind, he went over to the cave. For some reason, he thought that if he went in acting like he owned the place, there would be less of a chance of him being kicked out. So, that's just what he did.
Strolling in as casually as he could while his fur was sopping wet, he shook the water off his fur, regardless of the other figures close by, before sitting down. "Hello." he said cheerfully, as if he did this all the time (which, in fact, he probably did) before looking around. His calm and chipper demeanor disappeared as soon as he saw the wounded bundle on the floor and he jumped to his paws, ears flat, wondering if it had been the large varg that had hurt the thing.

Balin jumped to his feet as a new voice startled him. He soon relaxed though as he realized that it was just another pup. "uh.... Hello." The silver pup wasn't entirely trust worthy of this new comer though, so he made sure to keep himself planted firmly between Heret and the other. "Did we intrude on your home?" He after a brief moment of studying the soaked canine.
Another pup all by its self? Loopy frowned lightly as he looked up from preparing the herbs to study the newcomer. "Hello, young one. Are you all by yourself?" The kerl asked in concern as he gather up his herbs and trotted over to lay down next to Heret, his own injuries stinging. Loopy looked back down to Heret and nuzzled him softly. "This might sting, but it'll stop the bleeding." He whispered softly before he carefully used his paw to rub the green mush over the gash where Heret's eyes had been. "Are you hungry?" Loopy added, looking at not only Heret but the other two pups as well. "I could try to find something."
Heret whimpered as the paste was rubbed over his wound but nodded. "Y-Yes." All the blood loss had left him feeling very weak and hungry. He carefully climbed to his feet and wobbled over, managing to somehow find Balin in the darkness. He snuggled against his brother and lay down, curled against the other pup's side.

Jet, still in a defensive stance and ready to flee at a moment's notice, regarded the others, much more carefully this time. They seemed nice with thier greetings and all, but he stayed where he was, eyes darting towards the brown pup, the large male with the wing-like appendages and vines, the silver pup, and back again.
From the pup's words, he guessed that they had yet to figure out he was just as new to the cave as they and, taking advantage of the situation, tried to puff himself out into a more dominant-looking pup. "Yes, this is my hovel." he said, in a horrible attempt to sound refined. He had thought that by using larger words, he would sound more intelligent, and had yet to realize he had just insulted his own "home." Ignoring the adult's question, he continued.
"'Course, you can't really tell because my scent isn't on it," he said, looking up warily at the large brown male, who was supposedly busy with the bleeding pup. "But that's only 'cause I just found it. But it's still mine. I found it first." he said, starting to get defensive again, as he usually did when he was telling a lie.

Loopy chuckled as he head for the cave entrance. "Your hovel, huh? Lad, I wouldn't suggest using words unless you truly know what they mean." He smiled at Jet. "But if you insist that the den is yours, then you're of course welcome to stay. I will be back soon. You three stay here and be careful, alright?" He was hesitant to leave them here when Balin and Heret's father could still be lurking about, but Loopy knew that Heret needed some food so that he wouldn't die. "Balin, you're in charge, alright?" With that, he ducked back out into the rain to find some small prey for the pups to eat.
Balin stared at Jet as Loopy left, obviously still untrusting of the pup. "I don't think it's your den. I think you're lying." He finally stated, his eyes narrowed. "You're all alone, aren't you?" He wasn't going to put up with this pup's lies. Not tonight.

Jet frowned at the adult, wondering what he had done wrong. Didn't "hovel" mean "home" or something like that? Still pondering about it, he bobbed his head in what he thought was a polite fashion and replied to the male's retreating form, "You're welcome to stay, too, of course."
Turning away from the entrace to watch the remaining pups, he finally sat down again, scrathing at an ear. He raised a brow at the silver pup's first comment, as if surprised. "Of course I'm alone. Never said I wasn't, did I?" he said, a hint of a sneer evident in his wrinkling lips. He didn't like accusations, whether they were true or not. "And you don't need to say I'm lying just 'cause you're jealous I can live perfectly fine on my own."

Balin rolled his eyes. "Jealous am I? Why would I be jealous of a lonely, half-starved, squinty eyed pup like you?" He asked, frowning. The silver pup had had a very rough day and was not able or willing to play along with the new pup's lies. "What's your name anyway?" He added, green eyes glancing toward the cave entrance for any sign of danger.
Next to him, Heret tiredly frowned and nudged his brother. "Please don't fight, Balin" The pup whispered.

"Because I'm alive, aren't I?" Jet said, his voice close to a snarl. "I've been on my own for a few moons now, you know." he bragged, failing to mention that he was only able to go through with such a feat beause he had guilt-tripped others into hunting and caring for him. That, and the fact that he seemed to be especially lucky. He was often out in the night, and no predator had made a meal of him yet.
"It's polite to tell one's own name first before asking for another's." he replied, shifting on his haunches to make it seem as if he were taller. He paused when the wounded pup stirred and woke, speaking in a low voice. In the small space they were in, Jet was easily able to hear him, althouh barely with the rain outside. From the closeness they seemed to share and the similar markings on them, he guessed they siblings. Brothers.

The silver pup huffed, "I'm alive too, aren't I?" He asked but listened to his brother and instead lay down next to the injuried pup. "My name's Balin, and this is my brother Heret." Balin finally stated, not bothering to look at the other. He normally wasn't so rude and not such a fight-starter, but he was too worried about his brother to be any different. Balin returned to gently licking at Heret's face to clean him.
Heret sighed softly, curled against his brother. It was comforting to have Balin there. The herbs had left his face mostly numb and the blood flow had stopped, so he was feeling a bit better. However the herbs couldn't make his fear reside. "So w-what is your name?" Heret asked curiously, his voice quiet.

Jet huffed. "Yeah, but you have that adult taking care of you. And you couldn't even take care of your own brother." he said, purposely trying to insult the male. Unlike Balin, his overconfident nature made him rude, easy to displease, and a nuisance in general. The fact that most others thought that he would "grow out of it" and thus failed to tell him his attitude wasn't pleasant, usually going along with him in a humored way, didn't help.
He sniffed delicately, still going about his gentleman charade. "A pleasure to meet you Balin, Heret." he said, nodding at each in turn. "My name's Jet, if you must know."

That did it. Screw listening to Heret. Balin pulled away from his injuried brother and with very little warning, he turned and tackled the other male pup. Lips pulled back in a snarl as he shoved his teeth next to Jet's face. "You. Take. That. Back." He growled, eyes narrowed angrily. "You take it back or I'll kill you." Balin would not let this stupid pup tell him that he was responsible for Heret's injuries. Balin would not let himself believe it was true.
"Balin! Balin, please!" Heret cried, struggling to his feet. The golden pup took a few steps but soon crumpled back to the ground, too weak to go on. He couldn't tell where Balin was anyway.

The sudden attack was surprising, to say the least. Jet knew it would annoy the other male, but he thought the danger of a scuffle had passed, as Balin had not attacked him when Jet was telling his name. Still, no matter what he thought, the fact still was that he was under attack, and as the other had the advantage of surprise, things weren't going so well. Of course, because things couldn't have been bad enough, Jet just had to speak once more.
"Why? Hurt 'cause it's true?" he snarled, jumping back. "If it wasn't, then what happened to his face? You saying your brother's crazy to attack himself, now?"

How stupid was this pup? Did he really not know when to stop? Balin snarled and bounded at Jet, trying to tackle him to the ground. "My brother is not crazy. And it was not my fault." He growled, shoving a paw into the pup's throat. "Our father did it. Could you have stopped it? I did everything you could, you dumb piece of trash." The silver pup was seriously pissed. His fur was bristled, his ears were flat back, and his puppy teeth were fully bared.
"Balin! You get off of him!" Loopy ordered firmly as he stepped back into the cave, dropping a dead rabbit at his feet. "I leave for ten minutes and you two start trying to kill each other? I thought you knew better." The kerl added disappointedly before he picked up the rabbit carcass and moved it in front of Heret. "Hey you go sweety. Eat up." He said softly, nuzzling the injuried pup. "Now you two, get over whatever the heck is between you and get over here and eat."

Jet growled, readying himself to throw more insults, when suddenly Balin was upon him, with a paw at his throat. He sputtered, ears flat, his small fangs gleaming, and struggled to force the panic from his mind.
"No, you idiot, I wasn't there." he managed to get out, but was drowned out by the sudden appearance of the adult varg. Even at the vulnerable state he was in, he could register the prescence of meat. Still, he kept himself from showing obvious signs of hunger, lest he prove Balin right, and reached up with a paw to try and bat Balin's face away.

Balin glared as Jet tried to paw him away. He smacked the other pup with his own paw before climbing off and moving over to pick at the food. He glanced over at Loopy but didn't say anything to the older male before he dipped his head to pick at the rabbit. Dumb a** pup. Balin nudged Heret lightly making sure that his brother was getting his fill too.
The golden pup jumped lightly at his brother's cold nose against his shoulder but leaned over to nuzzle Balin. "Please don't get into anymore fights." Heret whispered, before he resumed picking at the meat.
Loopy frowned, watching the two brothers eat before he looked over to Jet. "You going to get some food too?" He asked lightly, smiling down at the young male. "You look hungry." The pup also looked rather alone. "Where are your parents lad?" He asked as he lay down, smiling at Jet.
