Merlin’s Katana is 36-inches overall. It has a 24-inch sharpened stainless blade with simulated temper line. The blade is ground on the reverse side. It has a 12-inch black & gold composition handle with a gold and black cord wrap. It has a gold finish cast metal tsuba and pommel. A black composition scabbard with gold finish cast metal fittings comes with his sword.

Hado:
* 1. Thrust (衝, shō) — Pushes the target away from the caster.
* 4. White Lightning (白雷, byakurai)— Fires a concentrated bolt of lightning from the caster's forefinger.
Bakudou:
* 1. Restrain (塞, sai)— Locks a target's arms in place behind their back.
* 4. Crawling Rope (這縄, hainawa) — An energy rope entangles a target's arms.
* 8. Barrier (せき, seki) - A semi-transparent circular wall, building itself outward from the shinigami's arm, manifested from the user's reiatsu.
* 9. Hit (撃, geki) — Engulfs a target in red light, completely paralyzing them.
Skills:
Merlin is very skilled in kidou’s and hand-to-hand combat. He received outstanding grades in both while in the academy. Merlin can speak the following languages; English, Japanese, Chinese, German, and French. When Merlin is not fighting, you can find him with his nose in a book. Merlin believes knowledge is power and thus spends his free time reading and studying.
Personality:
Merlin is very out spoken and will correct you if you are wrong but, he has a soft spot for females. He will do everything he can NOT to fight a woman fighter unless he feels his life is in danger. Merlin is very old fashion and believes that females should not engage in fighting of any kind. This is due to the way he was raised as a child.
Martial Arts:
Merlin earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in Jujitsu while in the academy. This was one of his favorite classes and is the reason why he was recommended to either 7th or 5th Squad. Merlin wants to hold at the very least a Black Belt in multiple arts. He wants to be known to all as one of the great fighters of his squad.
Biography/History:
Merlin’s history/background is very well guarded by him. Rumor has it that Merlin was alive back in the 6th Century and was a great leader in the making. Tale has it that he was suppose to lead an army to attack and beat the Saxon invaders that controlled his homeland but he was killed in an ambush two days before the attack. Rumor has it he was killed by a female assassin, but this information is only rumored to be true.
