A dozy car thief had to come clean after falling asleep at the wheel of a stolen car, while going through a car wash.Officers from South Australia Police were this morning called out at 3am when an operator called to say a car has been in his car wash for over an hour.
When they arrived they checked the cars details and discovered the black convertible Audi had been stolen days earlier.
The 30-year-old driver from Campbelltown was then woken from his slumber and arrested.
So much for trying to make a clean getaway.
He was charged with illegal use and theft of the car and has been bailed to appear in Magistrates Court on 17 September this year.
