I live in Cali now, and miss home. There is a decent local community in San Jose, but its 2 hours away. Anyone living elsewhere, but homesick? Especially in Cali...
My husband and I often joke, when something unexpected happens... "little does he know, manong in the shadows"...in Cali, it is a big inside joke. Anyone else find themselves having to explain local comments, humor, languages?
I'd love to meet anyone who misses home as much as I do, or feels like you are a fish out of water because your local flavor doesn't fit in another state.

I go to San Francisco for college [[ Thank god i get to come home during Summers and winterbreaks ]] But i find i have to explain how i talk there too. When i'm home i talk pretty heavy pigeon, so when i head back up to Cali I have to completely rid myself of the way i talk all together and try to talk perfect english or ill get confusing looks.
People from hawaii pretty much live on a different planet. Simple as that.
