His days had been quite since his last encounter with anyone else. The herd beasts were rarely interested in conversation before dinner and the birds... Well, the birds were always more mocking than useful, in his experience. He knew, deep down, that if he just continued to wait for something to happen then it never would, so he took to wandering again.
His travels had continued on throughout the day and late into the afternoon, coming to a halt only when the sun drifted down towards the horizon. It was breathtaking, really, just how many colors could canvas the sky in just a manner of minutes. Sitting back he found himself pausing to watch, figuring that he could continue on until he'd found a place to rest for the day afterwards.

 Zibuka felt like he had been stored somewhere dark and boring for far too long. Of course he hadn't been lazing in dens for days on end, but he was so unstimulated and bored that he couldn't even remember what he had been doing with his days. So he might as well have been sitting in one spot, doing absolutely nothing.
And that just wasn't cool.
The generally exuberant and always daring cheetah decided today he was going to make some fun for himself. Something interesting needed to happen, and he was not going to be happy until he made it so.
So he trotted along at a fairly good clip, looking around for the first thing he could find.
Which just happened to be a lion, found just at the end of the day. Thank the Gods for that!
"Well hello there good looking!" He called fearlessly, trotting up with a light bounce in his steps. He beamed a grin, genuinely happy.

His thoughts were cut short by the sound of a voice that seemed to be addressing someone nearby. He paused, brow furrowed slightly as he glanced around, wondering if somehow he'd missed the presence of someone else... This 'Good Looking', whoever they might have been.
When he saw no other his head turned, catching sight of a cheetah that seemed to have a spring in its step. "... Were you talking to me?"

"Of course I was!" Zibuka laughed, shaking his head. He padded closer, sitting right next to the lion without any fear of, maybe, getting his head bitten off. Or flattened under one of those big meaty paws. He didn't waste his time worrying about what could happen, anyway. Life was for the alive, after all.
"Why, don't you think you're good looking? If someone said that to me, for example, I'd know right away they were talking to me," he flashed a grin, teeth bright and white. He tilted his head at the other male, looking expectant.
"So, what are you up to this fine evening?" He cast his eyes toward the sky, smiling distantly.

He glanced at the cheetah, brow lofting as he watched him for a moment. He seemed to have no sense of personal boundaries and the smile of... Well, the smile of a predator which, all in all, made sense. He chastised himself mentally, shaking his head in a way that rustled his bi-colored mane. Relax.
"I think... That I am whatever the Gods, or the Spirits, wanted me to be, no more and no less." He smiled in return, bowing his head almost politely for a moment before glancing back at the other. "This evening I am taking a pause in my travels to appreciate the wonder that is sunset. And you, friend?"

Zibuka looked surprised by the answer. A spiritual guy, if not religious, this lion. That got him piqued. He didn't know what he believed, save that life was about taking risks and never letting boredom creep into his days. That didn't strike him as a particularly religious sentiment, though.
"I was just out all day looking for something fun to do," he laughed, shaking his head, "I was wondering all day, and then I ran into you. So I guess that must mean something, huh?" He grinned.
Purring, sounding like a bird cooing, he shrugged his lanky shoulders, "where are you traveling to, then, Good Looking?" It seemed he had given this lion a new nickname, and wasn't going to drop it any time soon.

"Tabansi." He laughed, shaking his head once more as he watched the cheetah. Leopards he was used to, more so than other lions it would seem at times, but cheetahs were still a bit of a mystery. Odd ducks. "My name is Tabansi. As to where I'm traveling? Wherever my paws take me... Which really hasn't been much of anywhere as of late. I'm afraid I've been staying in one place for too long, which really hasn't lent itself all to well to doing much of anything."

The cheetah shook his head. Mostly just because the lion was doing it a lot, and it was catching on. Not that he had a big mane to play with, but still. He liked the way his little mop of fur moved around, though the beads clinging to it were less than happy with the movement.
"I can hear you on that one," Zibuka said with a heavy sigh. He dug his paws at the earth, "I can't stand being in one place for too long, anyway, but lately it seems like I've just been stuck here. Maybe we're supposed to do something, huh? Whatever the case, I'm sure we'll both figure something out before long."
He grinned broadly.
"I don't understand how a guy like you doesn't have a girly companion tagging along with you, for those lonely nights. Or are you one of those that likes whatever company he can get?"
One of those, he thought with a smirk, one of my kind? Indeed.

"I'm certain that if I had a reason to stay in one place for more than a moon I would do so... As I've yet to have a reason?" He shrugged his shoulders lightly, smile seeming to warm up a bit.
"That includes female companionship, I'm afraid. Whoever the mysterious 'she' that all males seem to be looking out for may be, I am afraid that I've yet to meet her." He chuckled. "Although I do enjoy company... It's amazing the conversations you can have when you're just being yourself." It didn't occur to him that the cheetah might have had another meaning for the word 'company'.

Zibuka nodded rigorously. Made sense to him. He had spent a while around one particular watering hole, because he had found something he felt warranted stalling his perpetual wandering. But even that had waned, and he had to hit the trail again.
"Well, it's the ladies of this land that are missing out, I'd bet," he grinned, swinging his long tail and flashing a big grin. He shook his head, purring a chirp of a purr and laughing a bit. He liked to stay up beat.
He realized the lion wasn't on the same wavelength, but that was charming in its own way.
"Yeah, those conversations are pretty great," he said with a chuckle, "particularly the intimate ones. You know. Where you really get to learn about someone." He hummed at the ever so subtle innuendo, still sticking to his definition of 'company' rather than switching to the intended meaning of 'conversation'.

He eyed the cheetah for a moment with a slightly furrowed brow, resisting the urge to sidestep to ease a bit of uncertainty by summoning another smile that spoke much for his sunny disposition. "Perhaps they are, but I don't mind... It gives me more time for deep thought, I suppose." He chuckled.
"I find, sometimes, that in having those conversations you learn just as much about yourself as you do about another."

Zibuka laughed, tilting his head at the lion and deciding to make an abrupt change of topic. It was something he was wont to do, in conversation or applied as a metaphor to life in general. It didn't mean he was bored, really, he just liked to keep things moving.
"I think I like you!" He announced, nodding his head.
"You've got a good head on your shoulders, I think. You seem thoughtful. Your eyes are full of thoughts, anyway. If we meet again sometime, since we'll have to part company at some point, right?, I think we're going to be in for some fun. In my bones I feel this, I mean."
He wasn't really telling the truth. But he wanted to see how the other reacted to this prediction. With a prophecy between them, he thought he might learn a lot more about this lion.
After all, wasn't that just what the other had said? He liked to learn about himself and others. Or maybe Zibuka was just hearing what he wanted. In any case, he thought this was a good way to do that.

His brow lofted slightly as he glanced at the cheetah and there was a brief moment of silence before the sound of his warm laughter filled the air. He was smiling in earnest as he regarded the other male. "Thank you, I think. Perhaps you're not all that bad yourself. Time often tells these things, you know... And if you're feeling it in your bones?" If he were one for shrugging shoulders he would have done so now.
"Where is it that you're traveling to? Maybe our paths will have a common route for a bit and we won't have to part ways just yet?" Anyone who could make him laugh might be worth keeping around for a bit... And company was always appreciated when he chanced across the good kind.

"No place in particular! Any place that gives me something fun to do. Gotta keep looking for that adventure, you know?" He grinned at the question, tilting his head to one side and looking distinctly silly because of it.
He liked the idea of hanging out with this guy a bit more. He was an interesting one.
"I'll walk with you for a while. Until you get bored of me, how's that? You can just tell me to go away, and I'll get gone," he grinned broadly, flashing his teeth.

"Adventure?" His brow lofted slightly, laughter warm as it rumbled from his chest. "Yes, I suppose there is that as well. I can't say I've ever gone looking for one, though." He rolled his shoulders slowly before stretching out his body, paws sliding out in front of him, claws extending as his toes flexed.... And then he was back on all fours again, shaking his mane out.
"I'm certain, between the two of us, we can find something interesting to talk about. Who knows, maybe we'll even find someone else to join our little troupe of travelers."
