The "Ultimate First Place Winner" is basically the best of the best; the first place winner out of the first place winners, if you will. Not only does the "Ultimate First Place Winner" get to bask in the glory of having the official best graphic submitted to this contest, but they also get a whole TON more prizes than the other two first place winners! The "Ultimate First Place Winner" was appropriately decided by what I've deemed the "Burn Power Trinity" rofl : myself [elysia x, the captain], Oxymoronic Genocide [second-in-command], & xxInstantaneousPausexx [third-in-command]. Hello, all my lovely guild members, & welcome to Burn's "ultimate" banner making contest! The first contest ever to be held in this guild was a banner making contest. It's been almost a year since I created Burn, & I figured that another graphic making contest was totally called for! As some of you may know [or may have noticed], I'm a total graphics freak. I care a lot about having awesome thread sets & banners & all that jazz; however, I HATE ordering graphics, since I can never decide what they should look like! I don't know why I didn't create this contest much sooner, seeing as it should be the perfect solution to Burn's lack of banners problem. [Okay, I admit, Burn is TOTALLY not lacking in the amount of banners we have… But I always love having more anyway!]
I might be adding some big twists into this contest, so all you graphic-savvy Gaians should keep checking this thread!

There are three different types of graphics you can make for this contest
a) Buttons
b) 200x40 Banners
c) Banners
General Rules & Requirements -
There is no limit to how many graphics you can submit. You can submit graphics of as many or all of the three graphic "types" mentioned above, & submit as many of each of those types of graphics as you want. Additionally, there's really no rules or limitations regarding what the graphics have to look like in a purely aesthetic sense, so you can let your creativity & imagination roam as free as it can. However, there ARE some basic rules & suggestions that are different for each of the three types of graphics you can choose to make. Below are the requirements you have to follow for making your graphic eligable for that category, as well as suggestions/tips that it would really be worth your while to read.
a) Buttons
Requirements: Must be 88x31 in size. Must say "Burn".
b) 200x40 Banners
Requirements: Must say "Burn"
c) Banners
Requirements: Must be bigger than 200x40 & smaller than 500x30. Must say "Burn", as well as have additional text of at least three words. Your goal with the additional text is to make the banner advertise Burn as well & effectively as possible.
Suggestions/Tips:
A common problem I see with graphics is that, although the font is pretty, you can't read what it says. Make sure "Burn" & any other text you put on your graphic is easily legible; if the text is hard or impossible to read, then it doesn't matter how pretty your graphics are, they won't win.
Even though only the word "Burn" is required to be on buttons & 200x40 banners, adding more text [ex. "The Everything Guild"] is definitely encouraged. Therefore, it would make a lot of sense to make graphics that small animated - especially buttons - to accomodate the extra text. However, animation is definitely not required.
Here are some slogans you can use on your banners/buttons for Burn. You can also use slogans/text that you thought up yourself, or mix & match the slogans below in any way you'd like:

When entering a competition, it's always a very good idea to make sure you know who's going to be judging you, & to keep your audience in mind [this is equally true in real life as well!] Here's how the graphic submissions will be judged…
First of all, it's probably important to know that the graphics will be judged in their respective three categories. In other words, there will be three first place winners [as well as three second place winners & three third place winners]: one first place winner for submitting the best button, another first place winner for submitting the best 200x40 banner, & another first place winner for submitting the best [larger than 200x40] banner. In addition to this, there will be an "Ultimate First Place Winner", which will be awarded to the best graphic out of the three first place graphics.
Who will be judging you? Great question. To determine the first, second, & third place winners in each category, myself & the rest of Burn's crew will narrow down the submissions to each category to our five or six favourite submissions. All Burn's members will then be able to vote on which of those five or six graphics in each category is their favourite.
The "Ultimate First Place" winner will be determined by Burn's top three People of Major Importance: Myself [elysia x, Burn's CEO, Founder, & President], Oxymoronic Genocide [Burn's Executive Vice President], & xxInstantaneousPausexx [Burn's Senior Vice President & Chief Visionary Officer].
