I have to say, romance is my favourite genre in books. I especially love historical romance because at that time, society is so different, it's pretty cool to read about it. Oh, and I highly recommend Judith McNaught's books.
Any other recommendations?

I know it's a really old fashioned book, but I love the romance of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I know it has a very Happily Ever After ending where the poor girl marries the rich guy who she actually loves, but still...

I think one of the best historical romance books is Outlander by Diane Diana Gabaldon. Its a long book, but the story will grab you and hold on through the entire read.
If you are interested in the Outlander series - here are all the books in order. 1 Outlander 2 Dragonfly in Amber 3 Voyager 4 Drums of Autumn 5 Fiery Cross 6 Breath of Snow and Ashes 7 Echo in the Bone

I like the romance in the Phantom of the opera. yes that is a book. It s very interesting because the Opera Ghost also known as the Angle of Music and a guy named Raul like the same girl. It was very interesting to see who she loved the most.

Juliet Marillier is my favourite author when it comes to romance; she writes fantasy fiction, but most of her work is based off of old Celtic and Irish mythology and fairytales.
My favourite is Daughter of the Forest - it is based off of the seven swans folktale, really well written
