Testing...testing...one two three, testing...
It was probably not a good idea for Early to be out by herself. A little more than accident prone, and fairly naive in her youthful state, she had a predisposition for getting herself into scraps and quite a bit of trouble. Today she seemed to be fairing well, for the moment, having stumbled upon an old playground that had long ago seen better days. Overgrown, decaying, and rusted, it probably wasn't a safe place for anyone to be hanging out, let along a young Winiko with an affinity for tripping over her own four feet.
Did that stop her? Of course not! She weaved her way through the weeds, following the wind as it made the chains of the swings creak. She sniffed about curiously before stepping up onto the stairs leading into one of the many towers.

Johai was running through the alley. The barf bag of a familiar of his had caught a breeze, and was drifting aimlessly wherever the wind would blow. The bag familiar hit the top of a fence, then vanished onto the other side. Johai let out an infuriated growl before looking about. There was a dumpster in the alley. Jumping on that, he managed to get over the fence and looked around. What greeted his eyes was like a fortress! His green eyes shimmered with glee as he looked from one wooden spire to the next. Vines were snaking up the supports for the swings. He quickly forgot about the familiar as he began looking around. This was amazing! He touched a chain bridge, listening to the jingle they made. He also saw the most glorious of glories! Atop the highest tower was the longest slide he had seen in all his short few weeks of existing. He bolted right for the rusted metal and looked up at it. He HAD to get up there to go down.

Early was at the top of the tower by the time Johai appeared on the playground, sticking her head into the long tube-shaped opening where the slide began. Sniff sniff, she stepped her foot onto the smooth plastic and stumbled, giving a peep as she scrambled with her claws on the wood to keep from going face first down the slide.
"Phew," she breathed, starting to turn around to head back down the tower. On second thought...maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
The tower had a bend in it before it got to the top. If the two weren't careful, a head on collision was not only possible, it was probable...and Early certainly wasn't paying enough attention to move out of the way.

Johai found the entrance into the tower, and practically ran up the stairs. He didn't notice Early until it was too late. Face to face, he slammed into her- full force, sending the two of them tumbling up the top of the stairs and onto the flat surface before the slide.
"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!" He shouted when he got back to his feet. "Why are you trying to go down the up stairs? You go down the slide!" He hadn't realized his fur had bristled. He wouldn't admit to being startled by the female wini.

"Ooof! OW!" Early yelped, definitely feeling a head-feeler get stepped on somewhere in the shuffle of things. Still laying out on the floor as Johai got up, she shook herself and looked at him...visibly drooping as he shouted at her.
"It's so high!" she said with a bit of awe, finally managing to stand. Using a paw to straighten out her feelers, she'd make sure they weren't bent as she peered down the winding bend of the tube. She looked over her shoulder at him...really just oblivious to his frustration with her.
"You really gonna go all the way down?"

"Of course I am! I'm not a chicken. But I guess all girls are just scardy demons." He snorted at her. "Girl's cant appreciate the glory of a slide like this." Then an idea came to him. "But you know, you can't go down the stair case. It's the rule of the playground. Stairs are for going up. Slides are for going down. So go down the slide." He made sure he planted his feet firmly, standing between Early and the stairs. He had a smug look on his face, his fur still slightly puffed, making him look bigger then he was.
He expected this girl to start crying and being scared like he figured all girls had to be.

At first her face puffed with annoyance at being called scared. She wasn't scared! It was just...really high, s'all. But when he changed things up, made a rule...well, he obviously knew how these things worked, didn't he? She blinked, the attitude disappearing as quickly as it had some on.
"Oh. Well, when you put it that way I guess I gotta go down," she said, turning around to peer back down the slide. She was scooting forward trying to get herself into a sit, when she slipped on her tail. Bump went her head, thunk went her bum...and down the slide she went; screaming in terror at first but eventually giggling as she twirled and spun in the hard plastic tube.
"Weeee!"

He was actually surprised that she agreed to go down. He stood up a little taller, grinning. If she wasn't going to go down the slide soon, he'd give her a helping paw and push her down. But she slipped before he could touch her. Johai almost fell over laughing at her terrified scream as she zipped down the slide. He figured she was at the bottom now.
"GERANAMO!" He cried before jumping onto the slide himself and wooshing around the slide's turn enough that he rode up the side of the plastic enough that he shot out of the slide on his side, laughing. Missing where Early landed by a few inches.

The pale purple Wini girl sat at the bottom of the slide laughing...before Johai came crashing down beside her, causing her to jump in surprise.
"Woa! Haha, you flew!" Early squealed, her front feet dancing in a happy fashion. "Hey, come on! Come on, let's go again!"
Jumping onto her feet, she shuffled her feet impatiently on the ground as she waited for him to get up to run with her. She wouldn't want to leave him behind, after all.

Yet another surprise from the girl as Johai stood up and shook himself. The moldy wood chips and sand shaking free from his coat. "So you want to race, huh? Alright." He moved to stand beside her. "Ready... get set..."
He bolted as he opened his mouth. "GO!" He was scrambling up the outer steps to get into the tower by the time he finished saying the word.

Early blinked as the other Wini child ran ahead, before squealing again and taking off after him.
"Hey! Oof, bah!" she laughed, tripping and falling into the mulch as she chased after Johai. "Haha, hey! Wait up!"
Bounding after him much like a puppy, she reached the steps and started up, trying to make ground. Her hair...mane...dreads? Whatever, the mess around her face got in her eyes and as she tried to shake it out of the way, her feet would catch on a step and she'd fall again.
Fall down farther, landing several steps down in a heap. Not much of a challenge for the boy, was she? Snorting and shaking her head, she'd laugh before looking around for the yellow Winiko.
"Where'd ya go?" she called, peering up the steps to see if he had reached the top yet.

"I win!" Johai called from the top of the steps. "Hey, I wonder if we can get to the top of the roof through this..." Johai was looking a round hole in the wall where at one time a plastic bubble window would have been. "Hey, girl face, come over here. Think I can get on the roof?"
He totally didn't know she had tripped. He had his paws on the edge of the hole and was looking out, craning his neck to look up. "I can totally get up there."
