AtA ForumIt has begun!
I suck at making threads... Anyway ninja
*edit* 'Ask the Admin' in the GCD. It pops up as an announcement around 9pm est mondays with Lanzer and a few random admins for about 2 hours 3nodding
I was discussing with Lintra things we can do, and I got to thinking that we could, as many of us as are comfortable/available doing it, post in the AtA tomorrow (usually starts around 9pm est I think, but never an exact time...) and start posting simple, *nice* posts asking for interactive plot again. Now, we would have to keep the posts relatively short, and I'd like for everyone to come up with their own way to put it, but I did write up something that you can twist into your own words (or just outright steal...) in case you aren't sure how you would word that:
"It's been a long time since the last plot update that was more than an introduction to the manga. We're aware that plot updates take time and resources, but there are many of us that believe that having an interactive plot something to the level of the old Labtech Journals from 2004, would be greatly appreciated by those of us that are plot starved as well as recreating the bond between the users and the world the site created. This would likely be mutually beneficial, as it would also help pull in new users as well."
Which is a touch long ^_^; But it's something. Keeping it short is important, as Lanzer is more likely to read it if it's shorter, but we also want to be as constructive as possible in our suggestions/ideas. Also, it would be great if you could put one of the tags (the stamps Kiri made, which are posted in the Gaian's for Plot thread.) in your post.
Obviously this is short notice, so if you can't/don't feel like participating that's fine. I just think the AtA is as good a place to start as any.

i am up for it. I'm trying to get into some more people involved. I think we need to get this out in the open in the forums as soon as possible.. it doesn't do much good posting it in the guilds. we need get as many people as involved as possible

I think that a thread in the GCD or a plot specific thread in the SF (with all the suggestions being added to a post on the first page as we go along) should be the next step, but I just want to get the idea out there, and this is fairly direct and a good place to start.

I'm trying to send the word around especially in the guilds about this.. in hopes to drag someone people in but I don't know how much help its going to be. but i might as well try this out.

The more the word gets around the better ^_^ As long as there are still people who really care about the plot, it's enough to at least plant the seeds of an idea in the heads of the admins 3nodding At least that's the hope anyway. The more the better though, 'cuz the more people we can show that want it, the more likely they are to do it. So spreading the word is very important!

So eventually having something in all of those forums would be awesome >_> <_<

I actually think the best suggestion is for them to start small and stick with things that are easy to manage to get back into it. My personally preferred idea is just occasionally we get 'Letters from the Zurg' >_> <_< Like, journal updates on their adventures in space! And maybe in the journal comments they'll ask for suggestions of places to go or things to do or something. Or heck, just letting us know what they've been up too and sending 'we're still alive!' things would make a lot of people happy. But the puzzles and little things around the site to find and decode is another, relatively smaller scale idea which I am also incredibly fond of. They did it during the zurg plot with the whole, decode the message and send it to the Zurg or GR, and there was a little of it during the Labtech and Elftech journal plots.
And yeah, I know not everyone liked the Zurg plot, but a lot of that was lack of accessibility. You had to be in the right place at the right time or you missed the whole thing. If they wanted to use towns for the next plot they'd have to put a transcript up somewhere public so people who missed it could keep up.
If you see any plot petitions or threads, maybe you could send the link along to the gaians for plot thread? We can support other people's plot threads as well as our own X3

(it would be hilarous if they did a competition where the rp guilds would compete against each other and the winner would have their settings, plots magnified into a large scale rp and their stuff up in the manga etc etc)

Though, like I said, I, personally, really want an update on how the zurg have been doing, but I know with the masses that isn't likely to go over well. But the important thing is to get across that the manga updates that introduce the events are NOT plot updates, but that plot updates do NOT have to be as resource sucking as manga updates. I know their artists are all really busy, so getting updates through things like journals and threads would likely be much more appealing, plus more 'interactive' then manga updates. Sorry if I made it sound like the whole point was to bring back the zurg ^_^; That wasn't what I had intended.

I like the idea of using the journals.. threads may be hard because of the constant posting by other people but journals would definitely work out well
