Appearance: [Nicoline Miura-Ambre], as seen in the linked picture, has a small frame. Agile and femininely muscular, this female carries an otherworldly beauty. She gets most of her physical attributes from her mother's side with the exception of her hair color and eye color. Those traits she gets from her father. As for her unusually amber colored eyes, they lighten and darken with her changing moods.

Personality: Because most of Nicoline's young life was spent moving about between France and Japan, a wanderlust was born.
Paired with her need to explore her surroundings she is friendly, eager to make anyone her friend.
In unfamiliar situations Nicoline is very polite and quiet, the kind of person who prefers to analyze every possibility before instigating any actions or reactions. However, once one gets past her polite and calculating exterior, deep beneath the surface lies a highly observant woman whom seems almost psychic in her ability to tune into the universe around her. She is always spot on in her ability to read people. Thus the creation of her nickname, "Psychic Illusionist", an alias that attributes to her innate ability to understand everything around her, and oddly enough her defensive battle style.
To balance with her wisdom, she is a very curious and mischievous shinigami which also ties back to her other nickname, "Vixen". And, while a perfectionist, Nicoline has shown that she is a closet genius by zipping through the academy in record time to become a full-fledged shinigami.
Bio: Nicoline is apart of the Ambre clan. A family of royalty, however, they are not so well known. Which is fine because they prefer their privacy, but their anonymous status is due to the fact that they are one of several minor Death God nobility clans from France. The Ambre clan Princess moved to Japan's Soul Society as a way of maintaining strong allying friendships with the country. That was over three-hundred years ago. Since then, the daughter of one of the SSoF's royal families has settled down with her shinigami husband, giving life to a girl, Nicoline.
As for Nicoline's actual story. She has always been extremely intuitive and quick-learning, so as a very young girl she found herself taking lessons that would help her to become a valuable shinigami. These lessons started as soon as she could properly hold a sword, and eventually took her to a different continent - China - where she was taught the fighting style she uses today. There is where she met the woman whom would quickly become her best friend and confidant, Maëlle Noblet.
Spending several years in China, though Maëlle was a couple hundred years older than she, Nicoline quickly attached herself to the female, looking up to her as an older sister. And though she had been there longer, when she had finished her training Maëlle had stayed to help Nicoline complete her lessons, which only further cemented their bond. Thirty years later it was finally time to say goodbye. Not an easy task, but knowing they would meet again made it less difficult.
Now at the age of eighty-three, Nicoline was back home with her parents in Japan. She would not stay long, however, as they quickly sent her off to stay with her grandparents in France where she would learn about her families history and be announced as the next in line to rule their clan. Living at the palace for the next several years was tedious to Nicoline for she was a free spirit and being contained to formality and security was not her ideal situation. And finally after putting her grandparents, extended family, and bodyguards through enough worry over her constant disappearances, ten years later she was returned to the SSoJ and her mother and father.
Although they were happy to see her again, Nicoline could easily tell they were disappointed that she had not chosen to stay. At least, her mother - Adelynn - was and she later explained that she had wanted a more refined way of life for her only daughter, thus the reason that she had put an end to all the training to become a shinigami - something that Nicoline's father had wanted. Apparently it was her mother's wish that she stay way from the mindless attacks of Hollow that more frequently targeted the SSoJ. Yet when Nicoline told her mother that she wanted to become a shinigami because she loved the thrill of battle, Adelynn had been appalled and settled for not speaking to Nicoline for several days.
During that time Nicoline received a letter from her long-time friend Maëlle whom was offering her an opportunity to visit. At odds with her parents, Nicoline decided that she was an adult and rather than continuing to allow her mother to make her choices, it was time to leave and begin her life. And to her utter amazement, considering she had just returned from the place, the Soul Society of France was her destination of choice.
Reunited with her dearest friend, when Maëlle learned of Nicoline's desire to become a shinigami, she quickly pulled strings and got the younger girl into the next semester of classes at the academy. Ever grateful, Nicoline accepted and once settled in, her already finely tuned skills blossomed during her two years at the shinigami academy. Training since birth, as she liked to call it, allowed Nicoline to graduate four years early with some of the highest marks despite being a foreigner.
Soon after the celebrations, having seen the skill of her friend, Maëlle offers Nicoline a place within whatever squad she should choose. A perk of being not only related to the Royal Spirit family - something that Nicoline only learned after receiving the letter that beckoned her to the SSoF - but also being the Captain-Commander. However, back on point, with her natural skill for the demon arts Nicoline easily chooses the fifth squad and quickly ascended through the ranks to become Lieutenant in just over a year.
Now at the age of ninety-six, it is during a mission to Earth that Nicoline learns just how different her new home is from the Soul Society of Japan. Her Captain, Tristan Chevalier - and the first reason why she chose the fifth squad - was caught unaware of an impending attack and before she could reach him to offer protection, he showed off a new set of skills that, were they in Japan, would have been considered forbidden.
"Visored."
It was after the battle that Nicoline learned that all Death Gods, if of a high enough rank, could choose to obtain the powers of a Hollow and become a Vizard.
"This is an option for you... So tell me, my kawaii Nicoline, do you desire to be one of us?" Tristan had offered her.
"Us?"
"Yes, us." The voice that had spoken that time had not been of her dreamy Captain, but of the Captain-Commander and her best friend, Maëlle Noblet.
With everything that had happened recently, Nicoline could not muster any shock at the revelation and only smiled. "Yes." She answered.
The process of becoming a Visored was different than she had remembered hearing, but it made sense because the SSoA did not have Hōgyoku. Instead, they had developed a Demonic Arts spell, courtesy Tristan Chevalier, that would dissolve the boundaries separating Death Gods and Hollows.
After her transformation, though the training she received from Maëlle and Tristan was intense, Nicoline is forever grateful, especially knowing that she will never loose control.
The next four years that she spends in the SSoF is leisurely and certainly happy now that she has finally caught the romantic attentions of her Captain. But when the SSoF receives the cry of help from the SSoJ because of the animosity from having Aizen Sōsuke finally ascend to the seat of the Spirit King, Nicoline is quick to gather herself and everything she needs to fight and protect her mother and father whom still reside within the SSoJ.
"Be safe. We'll join you when we can." Tristan and Maëlle told her before her frantic departure.
Upon her return the SSoJ, Nicoline learns that though Aizen is King, the Gotei still stands and is secretly gathering strength to bring him down. Though they must be careful for there are several Captains and shinigami whom have decided that in order to remain in power and or alive, they will stand behind their new King. Ever worse, the rules against becoming a Vizard are still in place.
For now, Nicoline can only hope that her secret remains safe, but that she can also successfully get her parents out of the country and on their way to the Soul Society of France.
Only when Aizen murders her friend, Maëlle, and declares war on all the rest of Soul Society does she begin to feel fear and rage. And with not only several shinigami joining his side, but the Espada still under his control, Nicoline knows that before long, things are going to get real bloody.
However, with the graceful arrival of Corinne Noblet, the equally mourning shinigami princess keeps Nicoline from doing anything reckless in the name of revenge.
Together, with the assistance of rallying shinigami opposed to Aizen's rule, plans are made. However, a year later and tensions are high. Having positioned herself into a familiar rank to keep herself going, although after Tristan arrived it was much easier to go about her day-to-day life, Nicoline succeeded in getting her family out of the SSoJ, back safely with the borders of the Soul Society Nation of France. And while for the moment the SSoF remains untouched, thanks to the supposed treaty that Corinne was there for, Aizen declares war against all the other nations and gathers his army.
Knowing that there are many countries unprepared against such forces, the leaders in the army against the corrupt King decide that it is time to finally announce their existence. Make known their disapproval of Aizen's power.
And now, Nicoline just prays that they can not only survive this war, but win it.

Zanpakutō Inner World: Tsuki no Sakkaku's Inner World is an empty void, capable of morphing into whatever Nicoline wishes to see at that moment be it a replay of a dream, day at the beach, or challenging battle where she can train.
Zanpakutō Spirit: [Tsuki no Sakkaku], preferably called Sakkaku, is a male spirit. With pale flesh that is like silk to the touch, blue hair tinted such a deep blue color that he would vanish in the dead evening, and pure frosty hued eyes, Sakkaku can only be described as being a deity of the night. This zanpakutō spirit's style of dress is something akin to a modern samurai, but elegant with silks of silver, white and blue. All in all, to gaze upon his beauty is as if to loose oneself in an illusion.

Shikai Abilities:
|Tsuki no Eikyoo - (月の影響, Lunar Influence)|
Despite this Zanpakutō being in alignment with the moon and all of its power, because the moon gains its light from the sun, all of Tsuki no Sakkaku's following abilities can be used during any time of day. However, they are twice as strong at night when the moon stands out brightest.
|Tsuki no Kaen Shingoo - (月の火炎信号, Lunar Flare)|
This is a technique that may seem simple, but depending on the location and the power put into this ability, it can be deadly. Through her Zanpakutō, Nicoline has the ability to connect with the light of the moon and the power that comes from such Lunar magic. And while this might seem outrageous, think of it as if it were an element like fire or water. By drawing on these Lunar energies, she can will the light to grow bright or dimmer, thus lessening or increasing the shadows around. This is dangerous because it is through the infinite shadows that Tsuki no Sakkaku creates his powerful illusions. And if Nicoline believes that there is not enough for her to control, then with this Lunar Flare technique she can create more.
When employing this technique the crescent moons of the hilt of Nicoline's blade will glow brightly in a hue similar to the light of the moon.
|Tsuki no Shio - (月の潮, Lunar Tide)|
When near a location of water this technique can be used and through it Nicoline will gain control over the element. Raising the water level or lowering it much in the same way the moon's gravitational pull does to the oceans. But because her blade is so much closer to Earth and the elements it contains, much more can be done than just flooding a room. Though she needs to be within a general area of a water source, her range can be up to 1 mile away from the element.
A second more dangerous part of this ability is because the body is made up of 80% water, should Nicoline's blade cut her opponent, for just a moment after the wound is created she can push or pull them in any direction. Though because this is a Shikai technique, the distance her enemy or enemies travels is not very far, and even less if they are strong.
|Tsuki no Kage no Sakkaku - (月の影, Lunar Shadow Illusion)|
This is the ability that allows Nicoline to make and control her puppets inside whatever fantasy she wants. To do this she must call out the release command which brings them to life after the name of the technique. This release command is, "Yuusei" or "Animate".
The illusion that comes to life is created with only a thought from Nicoline of what she wishes for them to be. With these shadows now given life, they are capable of distracting her opponents, blocking them or even wounding them, and with the exception of bringing harm or receiving it, these illusions can not be dispelled until Nicoline gives the command. This command is, "Mu Seibutsu" or "Inanimate". Should the shadow illusion be used to strike an opponent, then only when blood is drawn do the shadows lose their power and revert back to being harmless. At least until Nicoline reanimates them. Should these shadows endure damage, they will also dispel, but before returning to an inanimate state, the location in which it was destroyed will be revealed to Nicoline by way of a bond manifested through Tsuki no Sakkaku. A way of letting her know where to replace the link in her defenses.
Though strong and capable of all these things, the range that her shadow illusions can travel and be away from her is only up to 1 mile before they loose their power and dispel.
Also, these illusions only affect three of the the six senses, the sixth being sensing an opponent's energy or reiatsu. And while this is great for sneak attacks, the lack of the remaining senses being affected is what gives away that these are only illusions. Thus why this is a Shikai ability.

When employing this technique, the claws of Nicoline's gauntlet will glow brightly in a hue similar to the light of the moon.
As the Bankai version of Lunar Flare, not only can Nicoline will Tsuki no Sakkaku to brighten or dampen the light of the moon, increasing or decreasing the amount of shadows around for her to control, she can now direct a blast of this lunar energy to her enemy. The shape of this blast, depending on the strength put into it, can be of crescents or full circles that shoot towards her opponents. And while it may not seem like much, when used in conjunction with Tsuki no Shio Myakuhaku, the true ability stands out.
|Tsuki no Shio Myakuhaku - (月の潮脈拍, Lunar Tide Pulse)|
The upgraded version of its Shikai sister, Tsuki no Sakkaku still can influence the element of water. However, now the distance of how far away Nicoline can be from the source is 2 miles.
Continuing the explanation of the conjunction ability with Lunar Flare Pulse, after the initial attack of the previous ability, from now on Nicoline can just call out "Myakuhaku" or "Pulse" and if her opponent is hit with even the shockwaves of this technique, then this blast of lunar power will reactivate the previous ability of using a gravitational pull on her enemy, without needing to cut them again. The distance is also increased as well as the power to influence stronger opponents.
|Tsuki no Kage no Genjitsu - (月の影の現実, Lunar Shadow Reality)|
Now able to affect all the senses, including reiatsu sensing by giving each shadow illusion a copy of her how reiatsu signature, these illusions are now impossible to tell from reality as they now have become the new reality, so long as Nicoline feeds them the power to remain alive.
Whereas before with the Shikai version of this technique her illusions were dispelled after receiving damage or giving it, this is no longer true. The only way now for these shadow illusions to be forced into in-animation is if Nicoline gives the "Mu Seibutsu" or "Inanimate" command.
These shadows, because they are now created with a copy of her reiatsu to affect the sixth sense, are now able to employ any of the abilities of Tsuki no Sakkaku. And finally, their range in being away from Nicoline and Tsuki no Sakkaku is limitless.
