A young and mysterious boy in the Xenosaga universe. He has appeared in preview material for both EPISODE I and EPISODE II but unfortunately has been edited out of the final versions of both games so far. Although, in the ending scene of EPISODE I, he is shown playing with blocks while the Elsa is entering Second Miltia's atmosphere. The massive star system-sized Gnosis Abel's Ark bears his namesake and appears to be connected to him in some way not yet explored by the story. Recent EPISODE III info and a promotional image on Monolith Soft's website shows Abel briefly appearing before Dr. Juli Mizrahi and Shion Uzuki. It is said that he appears to be drawing a picture of a girl who looks something like Nephilim, yet when he is approached by the two of them he then disappears.
There is a conspicuous relationship between Abel of the Xenosaga universe and another Abel from a previous title developed by Square, Xenogears. Xenosaga's Abel shares Xenogears' Abel's name and likeness, and some speculate that he shares the same role as Xenogears' Abel; the -Contact-. This is somewhat seen in that Nephilim (which he is apparently doing a drawing of) carries a heavy likeness to Elly.
