A loose list of some of the invasive Earth-native species brought along by the colonists. This is not a complete list, any more than the Sartnys list is, but it should give you a general idea of some of what's available.

Entries on each species will not be as in-depth as the Sartnys bestiary, because hell, you're already familiar with these. XD

Plants:

Since the majority of textiles are now artificial (the Peregrine has a basic synthesizer -- biomass goes in, fabric comes out) most of the plant crops are food crops. The town of Endeavour features personal gardens, as well as larger shared plots, and several large hydroponic facilities.

The following lists are not comprehensive by any means, but should give you an idea of the kind of crops to be found.

Standard:
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Apples
  • Persimmons
  • Plums
  • Asian pears
  • Oranges
  • Hazelnuts
  • Almonds
  • Radishes
  • Carrots
  • Peppers
  • Squash (several varieties)
  • Pumpkin
  • Onions
  • Lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Chard
  • Cabbage
  • Green beans
  • Zucchini
  • Various herbs (rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano, mint, etc.)

As the hydroponic facilities are more limited in space, they tend to be reserved for some more "staple" crops. In addition, you'll find some crops that have dramatically higher yield when grown hydroponically.

Hydroponics:
  • Wheat
  • Rice
  • Corn
  • Soybeans
  • Peas
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Potatoes

Animals:

Chickens
They grow easier and faster than cows, and require less input per kilo of meat. These guys make a good staple protein source... not to mention, they improve crew morale. Nothing brightens someone's day like learning that your Scary Alien Food comes with a side order of nice, ordinary chicken tenders.

Goats
They make cheese. They make meat. They will eat ******** anything and will not take your s**t. Goats are hardcore, man.

Miniature Cow
Specially bred to be smaller, faster-growing, and hardier than your standard cow. They get to be about the size of a large dog. Congratulations, you don't have to give up your dairy just because you don't like goat cheese. However, your T-bone steak, while just as tasty, is now a fraction of the size. Bear in mind that the stock is mostly dairy cattle, and burgers are a special treat rather than a daily occurrence.

Tilapia
These plant-eating fish have a mild flavor, are easy and sustainable to grow in tanks, and they also grow quickly. Also they are pretty good for you, and pretty tasty fried up with some chips.

Catfish
They have funny whiskers! They are also tasty fried. And they make goofy faces at you when you throw food in their tank.

Rainbow Trout
Many popular fish species actually eat fishmeal when farmed in aquaculture, and will actually consume more protein than they produce. Not a good choice for a mission with limited resources. Catfish and tilapia can survive on plant products, hence their inclusion, and trout are pretty efficient at turning feed into trout. So enjoy.

Bivalves
This means clams, mussels, oysters, and scallops. Mmmmmm. Seafood. Om nom nom.

Dogs
NO NOT FOR EATING well maybe. If we're hungry enough. But these guys are working dogs. Border collies and sheepdogs and the like. Keep those damn goats in line.

Miniature Elephants
Now, these guys are new. Genetically modified, actually. About the size of a draft horse and remarkably intelligent, they're used as draft animals and general companions.
