For Banain and Peridot (Pan and myself) It was hot.
Far too hot for comfort today. Peridot ran through the tall grass. There was a secluded pool of water near by where she knew she could cool off. The reeds in the distance were her signal. Quickly, she pulled her limbs tightly to her shell, skidding across the marshy earth on her belly, and right into the pool of water. The spray was a spectacular show of clear blue water. That is, after she broke the layer of slimy green algae. But AHHHH! The cool water felt nice this summer day. After extending her legs once more from her shell, she paddled around in the water. All the time swimming with her father was paying off. She could probably beat him now! After all the practice she'd had that is.
Peri spent hours swimming and diving in the pool of water. There were some neat things at the bottom of the water. Small treasures that she pulled up. They were shiny and smooth. Some worn rounded glass, almost marble-shaped, some shiny metal bits that some careless human would have dropped- or thrown- into the water, and a bottle made of colored glass. A cork was in the top, and after trying to ignore the bottle, and whatever tantalizing goodies were trapped within, Peri couldn't help it anymore. She leaped at the bottle, pouncing it with her claws out, and her maw quickly on the cork. She'd heard stories about pirates putting treasure maps in bottles, and setting them to sea, and genies being trapped inside bottles and whoever set them free got three wishes. WISHES! Wouldn't that be something?
The cork broke off in her mouth. After spitting out the gross brownish stuff, she looked at the bottle. It wasn't any closer to being open. But she wouldn't be out done by a bottle! No sir! And she had far better problem solving skills then her brother. He would probably have tried using it as a sword anyways. Unconsciously, Peridot rolled her eyes thinking about her brother. What would mom do...? She'd hit it against a tree! But there weren't any around for a long ways. Dad....
"Dad would bite it open!" She squealed with glee and put her teeth to the glass neck and bit as hard as she could.
Crack. CRACK!
The glass shattered in her mouth. She quickly spit out the pieces, and ran her tongue around her gums to make sure she wasn't bleeding. Perfect as always. She smiled, and peered into the bottle. But no light filtered in through the heavily colored glass. She sat back on her haunches, and with one paw firmly on each side of the bottle, tipped it up over her head to peer into it's depth.
And promptly was drenched by a strange sweet smelling liquid that had been contained within the bottle. She dropped it, and shook herself a little before setting to cleaning herself. Her human, and her human's friends often had a sweet drink called 'soda' and this sort of tasted like it, but without the bubbles. She happily licked her paws and rubbed her face before licking her paws clean again. She didn't notice that the more she groomed, the larger the world around her seemed to get.

It was hot. Poor Banain was baking out in the sun. He had an exasperated look on his face and he felt like he was a slug. "Time to go cool down then!" He perked up. The best thing about being so small was that he could find lots of places for shade. As much as the other demons made fun of his size, he didn't let that stop him from being happy and accepting what he was. He was agile and quick; a little bullet his father would call him. He still teased his father a lot by weaving in and around his legs. It was funny when he would fall over. Banain giggled and made his way to the pond he heard his human talk of. It wasn't far at all. "Ouuuu cat tails!" he pouched. Bad mistake. He landed smack dab into some stick boggy mud. "Great..." He squirmed and became more stuck. He began to panic. "HELP!!!" his little voice called out. Was anyone even around? he hoped.

Peri wasn't close to being satisfied with her cleaning when she heard a faint voice. She didn't think anything of it at first until the cry for help. Her ears perked up and she looked about. There was rarely anyone here. So if someone had been out here and was stuck...
"Joxer would love this. Going to play the hero. Hm... Peridot the hero... I can't wait to brag about this!" She picked herself up and without a second though, began running to where she heard the voice. The ground on the far side of the pond was a little sticky. She giggled as it squished between her toes and lay down on the smooth underside of her shell. She used her legs like ores and propelled herself through the muck until she saw something green and a little pitiful looking stuck in the mud.
She paddle over gracefully. "Nice day for a mud bath. Want some company?" She asked, her voice light and sweet. "Oh wait, you must be the one who called for help. You need a lift? All aboard the Peridot express!"

Banain blinked slowly. He couldn't believe what he was seeing in front of him. She was tiny; like him.
"Hmmmmm yes I did call for help." he sighed. "I wasn't taking a bath....blasted mud, gets me all stuck!" He screwed his face up; observing her shell. Deciding not to tell her he was pouncing cat tails.
"Guess that comes in handy." he tapped his free paw on her shell. "Never seen another pygmy demon before..." he trailed off squirming once more in hopes of freedom.

"Pig-me?" She blinked at him. "Never been called that before. And I'm not tiny. I'm normal." She still didn't realize she had shrunk. "Let's get your paws free. Then hang onto me and We'll get you out of here." She grinned happily at him. This hero business wasn't half bad. And she felt good at it.
She moved her paws forward and began moving mud away from the green boy's paws trying to free his other front paw. She pushed the muck aside. This was quite fun. She had half a mind to stay here and play in the mud! Maybe she'd come back after helping this boy. She dug a little faster under him. "Come on, out you go~"

"Ummm okay?" he was a tad confused. Maybe she lives with a slew of pygmy's and this is all normal to her. He had to become her friend and that was that! He plastered a grin on.
"Gee thanks for the help there." He wiggled on top of her back. "Are you sure I'm not too heavy?" His muddy feet dangled off her shell almost hitting her in the head. This is awkward.

She sank slightly into the mud when he scrambled on. "Naaaah. I'm a tough girl. You're not to heavy at all!" She chirped and began the slow swimming motion back towards the pond. They glided easily across the mud, right up to the waters edge where it was much less of a hazard to walk. "Chuu chuu! Last stop!" Peri giggled.
When the boy was off her back, she slid forward a little more into the water and turned to face him. Her head and the top of her shell the only thing above water, like an alligator watching it's prey. "So how did you manage to get stuck? What'cha doing out here? What's your name? I'm Peridot. You can call me Peri if you like." Her stump of a tail was wagging under the water, even though no one would be able to see it. She was kind of excited to meet another wini. She didn't get out much. Specially after her parents had a freak out about being old or something like that.

Banain didn't know what to think of her. He laughed as the 'choo chooed over tot he waters edge. "You're silly ya know that?" He watched her as she submerged under the water and peepd back up at him.
He wasn't prepared for he mouthful of questions. "Aaaaaaa...ummmm" He hung his head. "I was...pouncing cat tails..." he grinned. "and kinda over shot..." He knew she would ask that. Just as well to tell the truth.
He squished his toes together; mud oozed up between them. "I was looking for a place to cool off and I heard my dad talk of this pond so I kinda decided to pop over this way." She asked something else. "Oh and my name is Banain...nice to meet you?" He smiled the best he could.
He had one question on his mind. "So are your parents pygmy's too? Do you like have a whole small family" He chirped.Well it was suppose to be only one. The more he asked the more popped in his head.

"Silly? Me? What if I'm normal, and you're really the silly one?" She countered. She was grinning ear to ear at him. He was entertaining. "Cat tails? That's a fun game! I used to pounce them rather then listen to my dad when he was trying to teach me stuff." She giggled. "I haven't done that in ages though. Sounds like fun."
There was that word again. "Pig-me? I don't know what that means. But my dad is like me... Shell and all. Though he has a pool of water on his head. I kind of wish I had a pool on my head. Wouldn't that just be awesome?" She trailed off in thought a moment. "My mommy's the same size as me. Everyone at home is the same size 'cept for Juillet. She's HUGE!" She punctuated by flailing her front paws out of the water. She lost her balance and ended up tipping over in the water, doing what might have been a back flip- if she hadn't been flailing.

"Hahahaha okay!...oh pygmy means tiny...smaller than usual! A pool on his head..that's odd." he laughed. " I can't say I've ever seen that before." Banain's eyes went wide as he watched her topple over. "Oh are you okay?!" he leaned in closer.

When she surfaced, she was matted with algae and her wet, slime coated hair was reminiscent of a swamp thing from the silly horror movies humans watched. She shook her head vigorously, sending the goop flying.
"I'm not smaller then usual." She sure was confused now. "But you know what? I don't think size matters at all! What matters is who ya are. You could be the bestest demon ever, and be only a weeee little bee-sized thing. Or you could be huge like... like... kong... uh... kink... no wait. King! King Kong! yeah. So even if you think you're smaller then everyone, so what? You are you. You mentioned your dad earlier. And I bet wouldn't want you to be any way but the way you are. You mom too, if you know your mom."

A small clump of green stuff landed on his head. He picked it off and discarded it off to the side. That was very true what she said. He was who he was. Though he was still confused on the her being small part.
"Ya I know my mum* of course! She's amazing and fun...most of the time and and and SHE REALLY HUGE!" He stopped...wait a minute. "My mum's name is Juillet...you just said a minute ago..." He turned his head and grinned. "You know my mum?" He got excited. Maybe she did or maybe it was another demon with the same name.
*we need to get a family RP in at some point xD;;

Her smile turned sheepish when he picked off the flung algae from himself. "oops" she bubbled slightly into the water. "Wait a-ack!" She coughed, having inhaled some water.
"Ack hack! Your mommy's Juillet? The pretty lady with the flowers and super soft pretty mane? I live with her! If that is your mom that is." This was unexpected. It then ocurred to her that if Banain was Juillet's son, then his brother was the meanie pants März. She gurgled a little, but didn't say anything about that.
Subject change. "Want to play?"
(We totally do. That should be our next endeavor.)

"Ya she's pretty and has flowers all over her! So...that must be her!" he was amazed. How did he not meet this Peridot before or see her when he visited. Though she did look somewhat familiar. He shook the thought away.
"Play...sure! What do you have in mind?" he was quite fascinated with her. Though he was a young adult he was still a child at heart. So the mention of playing got him a tad bit hyper.

Peridot giggled. That was excited that she knew his family. At least some of his family. "Well... you were pouncing Cat tails earlier... But that's not really something you can play with someone too well... We could have a bug hunt! Who ever catches the most wins. Or... We could go swimming. Race each other." Her eyes glittered withs glee at swimming. "Though we could do what you like to do... What do you like to do?"
