Darcy laid on top of one of the boulders, her head resting on her brother's leg. "Are they here yet?" she asked, green eyes staring up and gazing at him and the child he held. Her hands were folded across her stomach, and she looked completely relaxed.
"No, Darcy. They aren't here yet." Aaron said, chuckling and brushing the bangs out of his sister's face. "Just try and be patient, okay? Try counting the stars, if that'll help." He smiled at her before checking around, looking for any signs of their guest.

Joseph Veredine glanced warily around him as he walked creepier and creepier into this foreboding landscape. His guitar was clenched by the neck in one hand, ready to beat over the head of anyone that jumped at him, and the other hand was busying holding a piece of paper that contained the essential directions to... wherever the hell he was going. Despite his usually cool behavior, here in this unnerving place (at the crack of freaking dawn, no less!) he jumped at every sound, even if it was just a stick breaking underneath his feet.
After what seemed like an eternity, and several occasions where he'd gotten lost, Joseph finally found the cave he was supposed to be headed to. Clearing his throat nervously, he went over his little explanation in his head one more time, then straightened his shoulders and walked towards the two orange-haired folk. His eyes were immediately drawn towards the small child that was held in the arms of the male, and he cleared his throat once again before speaking.
"Um... hi. Er, I'm here for that kid there, but-but I'm not..." Here he waved the letter around without really noticing. "Who you sent this to, exactly. You see, I was playing Tanner here-" - he raised his battered guitar to make clear who that was - "-on our regular corner when out of freaking nowhere this guy drops this little letter thing into my case. And at first it looked like a really good tip, so I was all 'Ooh, yay, money' and went to go see how much it was. But then it wasn't money and I read the letter and it seemed really dickish of that guy to just not come and get this kid and so I just kind of... came instead," he finished lamely, a slightly nervous smile on his face. That... had definitely sounded more persuasive in his head.

Darcy blinked, sitting up to look at the stranger, eyes glinting in the moonlight. Hmm....this was an interesting predicament, wasn't it. "Well, this is a rather intriguing event." Darcy said, hopping off from her perch and motioning for her brother to do the same. "I will have to speak to that man, then." she said, her tone almost sickeningly sweet. Oh, she was planning something, not that it was this one's concern or anything.
"We appreciate you coming out here, even if it wasn't appointed to you." Aaron said, nodding once. A small, mischievous small played across his lips, his mind on the same track as Darcy's. "I'm sorry we had to call you out here at such an hour, but...." He trailed off, shrugging. "Do you have any questions you'd like to ask of us, sir?" he asked, following their usual procedure.

Joseph smiled warily at the two, already set on edge by their creepy smiles. Living on the streets had made him uncommonly good at reading other people. Shifting from foot to foot, he nervously regripped the neck of his guitar and looked behind him before nodding jerkily at the twins.
"Y-yeah, no problem. And, uh, well..." he trailed off for a moment to look at the faun-child, who wiggled impatiently on the lap of one of the twins, eager to be back on the ground. "Well, I know I'm supposed to take that kid there, but... What do I do with it? Just, like... raise it? Like, are you guys going to ever want him back or... stuff? And... is there anything that he needed that's all-special like? Because well-" here he fidgeted again, obviously uncomfortable "-I'm not really the wealthiest guy in the world, and it'd be nice to know if I need to get him stuff to, y'know... live." Another fidgeting motion. The only thing that could make this more uncomfortable is if they were all naked.

Aaron offered a small smile. "That's it. Just raise him, take care of him. And no, we won't. We may check in time to time, but that is all." He paused, a thoughtful look spreading across his face. "As far as we know....no. But hoof care may pop up in the future." he said, his tone uncertain. He was a bit worried....should they shove a kid off on someone with financial issues? Usually, he didn't question Darcy, but...
