whee I'm back~
Obviously, this is on honorifics. First of all, it is rare to see teenagers use honorifics today, except jokingly/mockingly used. Mostly, honorifics are used by adults =D
Okay, let's check out the common ones first.
_____
~씨 (Ssi)
is used when elder and the younger one are of almost equal speech level. (1~10 year gap?) for example, if the full name is 이재호, 이재호씨. When familiar, 재호씨.
Korean name's order is last name first, if you didn't know. So 이 is last name, 재호 is first name.
For Japanese familiar students, ~씨 is like ~San
__________
~군/양 (Goon/Yang)
군 is very formal honorific for male. 양 is for female. Often used in weddings, formal letters, graduation, and other extremely formal occasions.
for example, 이지호군 / 지호군. 김수민양 / 수민양.
For Japanese familiar students, DO NOT CONFUSE 군 WITH "KUN"! Kun is for informal.
....However, more and more teenagers in Korea are using 군 for informal use.(sadly) Yes, cultural assimilation. _____________
~선배 (SeonBae)
is used to address senior colleague. It can be used either by itself or as a title.
For example, 이지호선배/ 지호선배 김수민선배/ 수민선배
For Japanese familiar students, 선배 equals Senpai.
~후배 (HooBae)
is used to address juniors. People don't really use this honorific with the name, since the seniors just call the juniors by the name. Mostly used as itself or as a title.
후배 = Kohai
_________________________
Now these are rarely used honorifics.
각하 (often used for presidents) 귀하 (extremely formal honorific, used by old old old people) 선생 (used among oldoldold people to respect each other)
You probably won't see/hear these. Well, I don't :XP:
....and I believe these are all. Have a great day biggrin
