After 20 races
Clint Bowyer - 16th Jeff Burton- 17th Casey Mears - 21st Kevin Harvick - 23rd
I'm sure everyone is all thinking the same thing. What is going on with RCR? Weren't they considered a, "Super Team" last year?

I think Richard pit off more than he could chew with both a road coarse team... and a new cup team... maybe a tad too much to bring out in one year...

I think you're probably right. Now Bowyer has what was the test team last year, Harvick has Bowyer's team from last year, Mear's has Bowyer's 2008 sponsor and Harvick's 2008 crew.
Shaking things up is a good thing sometimes, but from the sounds of it, they took it a little too far. And apparantly Jack Daniels is considering not coming back next season.

Doesn't bother me, they also had a lot of bad luck this year, mears is the only driver who is performing up to expectations but he never had high expectations to begin with.

I don't know about the bad luck... Gibbs is having bad luck...RCR is just racing lousy this year...Jeff was slightly falling off year by year ..not by much..but just a lil... so he just barely slipped out...as for Harvick..this has been the symbol of his career...ever other year he has a bad falling... As for Casey...I still don't know why he hired him in the first place...

i never said they were only doing bad because of bad luck but i know burton would probably still be in the chase or close to chase contention and harvick would not be disgustingly far back in the points without the problems he's had. I find that funny you said burton has gotten a little worse each year when statistically his average finish progressively got better each year from 2005 through 2008.

I find that funny you said burton has gotten a little worse each year when statistically his average finish progressively got better each year from 2005 through 2008. I'm not counting 05..I count 06 to now as his resurgenance years..by then he was getting used to the RCR ride... and I hate to break it to you...but yes his avergae finish was improving by the end of 08...however ...his laps led was decreasing, his laps within the top 10 was cut by a quarter, his average start in the last 2 years has been the worse for him since the beginning of his racing in nascar, He hasn't had a pole since 2006..in fact last year Burton only qualified in the top 10 ten times, last year was Burton's first year getting more than one victory since 2001, Last year also was Burton's lowest time atop the points standings as well.. he was only the points leader for 4 weeks, and finally his top ten finishes has been down as well last year he was down by 2...so yeah Burton has been going downhill..and this year makes all those previous statistics listed look like a dream...This time last year... Burton was 5th in points with a total of 2733 points... not even close now with a total of 2201... stare

wow, His career definitely must be going downhill. Poor qualifying efforts, Only led the points standing for 4 weeks. To say Burton's career is declininng because of one bad year, in which the whole team is doing bad is very ignorant. talk2hand

i don't see him retiring for at least another 3-4 years. Especially when overall, he has been running fairly well the last 3 years. RCR in general is off this year, that's obvious but like they have always been, they will get good again. The team does this every couple years or so.

Now that I agree with..it seems like both RCR and Gibbs will have these " off years" where they will fall off the super team wagon..but then next time around will shoot back up to the point and butt heads with Roush and Hendrick all the way to the end..
