Deep inside the Deciduous Forest, the two of them were camped out under a thick old tree.

Aussie's neck was tense, he held his head high above his paws, slowly surveying the area around him. Picard was nearby, sniffing the ground and digging up weeds and roots.

"Quit making all that noise", Aussie barked.
Picard gave him a stare and started pounding the dirt. "BUM BUM BUM"

"PICARD!" Aussie growled at his brother, jumped up and tackled him. Flattened onto his side, Picard growled back. "What is the matter with you? The stars are bright, the moon is growing, be at peace!"

The night sky above them provided ample light for Picard's scavenging. He got back up and started chewing the roots of his finds, sucking the dirt and nutrients off.
All the constellations were in sight, so Aussie took a deep breath, and went back to patrolling.

She often traveled at night without her daughter, little Lyrae put in charge of protecting the den while momma went scavenging for fruits or other resources. It was easier this way, safer, though she sometimes wished she had the company when the nights grew silent and suspicious.

The crickets chirped pleasantly under the mighty stars, humming tunes Asmerelda knew, and swayed to. She had grown up near colonies of the insects as a child, and often enjoyed lounging in the sands, watching the skies interact with Earth’s cheery creatures. It was comforting and brought back the sense of togetherness in her; the lack of a pack seeming to take heavy tolls on the female. It wouldn't be till recent times that the possibilities of her leading would surface once again.

Asmerelda believed completely in the theory that the stars would guide anyone to splendid and necessary places. Her beliefs stemmed from what her parents had taught her, from following your destined star to taking in account the days the sky was dark without them; it all held purposes in her eyes. Just a few nights ago Asmerelda had been stirred from her sleep by the beam of a shining light, cast directly at her and no where else. She looked over to her daughter, who did not budge with the movement Asmerelda made to stand. The light was extremely bright, and came from just a few feet away; she was frightened, of course as anyone would be, but the sense of familiarity seemed to be there as well and comforted the female. As her feet slid over the earth to approach, the light dimmed, revealing a star that, in a way, looked tangible. It began to speak in a language Asmerelda had not known before that night, whispering directions, the future, a life she would have if she followed simple steps. It had all been a dream, but Asmerelda believed this was a sign, a calling from the heavens that she must follow; and did.

It brought her here, the star from above that had come to her in the night. Right where she stood the flash of light from the sky seemed to weigh heavily on her, exposing her deep blue pelt to the two boys who rested a few feet away. Her head tilted, the leaves adorning her casting a heavy shadow over her eyes, and smiled.

“Evening” The voice moved like silk across the midnight air, the smell of fruit lingering in her breath.

xD (You're about at 909845382x better role-player/writer than I am, Shia! I'm sorry!)

Aussie stood to approach the beautiful sapling. His muzzle shivered; he couldn't speak. The sunny male took another step towards her, but her voice had taken all the air from his lungs. All he could do was watch her, with a tight jaw and wide eyes.

Picard walked in front of his flabbergasted brother. "My goodness, your coat!" He exclaimed. "It's godly!" The Scorpio tucked his haunches and hung his head just a bit, a subtle sign of submission. "I am Picard, for the constellation, Scorpius. This is my broth-"

Aussie cut him off, -"Who shall introduce himself to the beautiful Sapling who stands before him." He stuck out his chest and raised his head, though not higher than her's. "I am Aussie, for the brave and great constellation leo. My brother and I were brought here tonight by intuition, now I see why. Without his sense of purpose, I would not have been introduced to you and your shinning eyes."

Although their parents had not married for love (either time- Picard had a different father than Aussie) both believed heavily in fate and the ideal concept that everything happens for a reason. Picard in-fact felt the universe pulling him from time to time, towards a different direction, or a new idea. He once described these "jerks" to Aussie, as threads through time and space, that you could pull and distort, or grab onto and follow; "a breadcrumb trail into the furture".

"And what be your unearthly name, my fair bloom?"

(No way, you write so well. <333 You're an awesome Rp'er!)

“Asmerelda” She chirped, pleasantly surprised by the boys eagerness to welcome her. It was apparent that the female hadn’t encountered other saplings for quite some time, and though she let off a sense of pride, and strength, there were parts of her that kept a weary eye on the two masculine males. It was never a wise decision to trot into unfamiliar territory, let alone one riddled with boys but; tonight seemed to be a night of fate and formality, not violence.

So in response to their names, she smiled cordially and welcomed them into her memories, the shade that covered her eyes was lifted as she tilted the leaves back and looked up into the mighty night sky, revealing the fluorescent purple hues. “Aussie, Picard; it is a pleasure to meet you.” Her lids shut loosely as a breeze passed, and she inhaled heavily the wafting scent they carried on their spines; there was no way for her to know what plants they held on their heads, but pleasant could have been the word she used to describe them.

From time to time since the dream, she had wondered whether or not it was for real. Had it ever happened, and would it come again to show her the way to ‘glory’? She wouldn’t understand it, not till tonight; two, lone sapling brothers, who waited idly by an ‘intuition’ was her answer, as well as her ticket. Bending back on her haunches, Asmerelda smiled wide and spoke again, “So you believe in fate, then? Well, that makes three of us…I believe it was fate that brought me here tonight! I was directed to this very spot to find you two it would seem, and to offer you something…special.” Her tone grew quiet, like a secret meant for no other ears to hear. “And I tell you this in full belief that you are both destined to be with me. Maybe not forever, but for a while. I am seeking pack mates, from here to the other end of the isle, some followers who believe in tradition, and celebrations meant for the heavenly idols up above. A nomadic colony who wander on lighted paths, and who believe in the star that will take us to our glories road.” The whispers had become apparently softer, and she had leaned in so close to them it may have been inappropriate; but she was passionate about her speech, and about this quest she took and did not wish anyone else to hear. Slacking her jaws, the female closed her sentiment with a firm invitation.

“Fate brought us here tonight, will you join me?”

(daw-shucks <3)
(my posts are so christmasy, why did I choose these colors?!)
(I changed their colors because I have that much free time today. I love it.)
(... now they're halloweeny. kill me.)

Picard and Aussie caught each other mid-glance. They didn't have much time to talk it over between the two of them... but it didn't seem to matter. Both knew what the other wanted to say. Picard looked away, and let Aussie, the greater protector of their small family, do the talking.

"It would be our honor to join you, Asmerelda." He said her name slowly, emphasizing the turning point in all three Saplings' lives. "Picard and I are a family just the two of us, but we are very confident when we walk through these trees." Aussie dropped his shoulder and bowed at their new leader. "I am a great hunter, foraging, protector, leader, and surveyor, and will serve the pack were ever you see fit."

Picard stood and joined his brother. "I, fair Asmerelda, am a foreseer of the future." More modest than his brother, Picard didn't want to exaggerate his abilities. "The starts have too, spoken to me." He turned his head and gazed at the very bright star that had lead Asmerelda to them. "They tell me their wishes, their desires, and their demands. But please understand, my visions can be deceiving, and the paths I see, are not always the paths chosen. It is impossible to be consistently correct when judging the future." He closed his eyes and stood peacefully with his brother, awaiting Asmerelda's next decision. She was the disciple of their stars.

(LOL! Your so silly <3 PSH I LIKE THE COLORS TOO! They really help to seperate the two speakers, and if the colors match the voices I say stick with it!!)

A pleasant expression settled on her features, the soft gaze she held passing over each sapling feverishly. The choices seemed to be limited for Asmerelda, where she was to walk and what to truly ask of the two males, but it was all for the benefit of the pack. She trusted the guidance of the ethereal; with more credit than she gave any living being on this planet. To some, it may be silly to go off what is felt, and dreamt, or supposedly 'seen', but for this female that was how life went. That was how this cookie crumbled, and so as the second brother spoke, her jaws slacked some what in disbelief.

She had never met with a creature as close to the heavens as he claimed to be. She took a wavering step forward, bowing her own head in acknowledgment of the gestures made, before speaking to the black male with interest; never letting her eyes fall from his face. “So you, are a Priest then…” She stammered to catch a breath, the sheer surprise in the formation of her lips clear to all who could see. With this, she reeled backwards and threw her head into the air, creating a most loud and enthusiastic ‘yowl’ of sorts, shaking off a shiver that passed as she finished. “This is splendid! Oh, what wonderful surprises the stars bring to us! Thank you Aussie, thank you Picard! You both will be well looked after.” Her charm and her grace were all noted as she danced pixy-like from paw to paw. “You, my fine yellow friend will be my second in command, an allegiance that will surely do us both well.” She did not need to test these two, running on intuition told her they'd fit whatever parts granted to them well.

“And you, Picard,” her faltering tone was audible, but she played it off so well with a smooth smile that, perhaps, it went unnoticed? “You will be part of the holy Priests in the pack. A select few with powers such as yours should be praised; your connection with the heavens and the stars are both idolized and respected.” With this, she bowed to both the saplings, the branches that sprouted from her cranium shaking out of excitement. It was done, then, as she returned her stance and moved a few more feet away from the males. Their invitation had been granted, and their acceptance approved; now all that was left was to introduce them to the young blossom, Lyrae.

“Come, shall we go meet with my other half? An heir to this throne once I am gone.” Her body moved away from Aussi and Picard, head turned slightly to see if the two followed but her feet continuing their stride. “My daughter will be happy to see you both.”

Lyrae was laying near the mouth of her mother's den. It was a short tunnel into a hill, comfortable guarded by thick forest. Tall grandfathers and grandmothers of trees shook around young Lyrae, their branches opening and closing windows to the night sky. The dusk colored blossom sniffed and rubbed her cheek into the damp ground. Her nose was running a little, a sign of either allergies or a head cold. Lyrae could feel the brightness of the stars, she concentrated on their energy and felt perhaps, a little stronger.
It was all in vein. Lyrae was getting bored of her mothers and hers repetitive days. It seemed every day they were living just to survive. Lyrae wanted to explore and learn, she knew her mother felt the same.

Aussie and Picard closely followed Asmerelda. They looked at one another and smiled. No need for words between the two brothers, they knew they had finally found their calling.
In the past, Picard's and Aussie's family ties had been weak. The two of them were the only members of their family still together. They longed for a sense of community were their actions were accomplishments, admired and appreciated by other members of the pack. A place were their actions were more than just a selfish fight for survival.
Picard especially wanted to help himself by helping others. He wanted to meet strangers and teach them something they had never been taught. He wanted to read the stars and spread word of their wisdom, hopefully changing saplings lives for the better. Both he and Aussie felt they had something great to offer the world, if only they had the opportunity. Aussie wanted to organize and instruct those who had no direction. He wanted to help saplings physically and mentally, other than spiritually like his brother.
And Asmerelda was their connection. Their link to society, their leader, their savior.

(Didn't bother color coding that one. xD Its too much back and forth/ about the both of them.) (But Lyrae has colors!!! <3)

She walked ahead of them, turning her gaze every now and then to spot their varying coats traveling in unison. They had to be brothers, though different in color their personalities intertwined perfectly, like souls that were meant to be together; they had to be family. And even if not, soon they’d be Asmerelda’s, and soon they’d be Lyrae’s, and soon they’d belong to a family greater than the four of them. They came around a sharp bend, sifting through a tightly knit set of trees and entered abruptly into the clearing. Her daughter was awake, as Asmerelda passed quickly into the den and nuzzled the neck of her bright child. “Lyrae, dear, we have guests.” Her breath twirled, beckoning the young blossom to acknowledge Picard and Aussie.

“Come forth boys, meet my daughter Lyrae. Sweetheart, they are here to help us.” And they were, by all that was bright in the sky they would aid the mother-daughter pair to a luminous path. “You feel a bit warm; you may sleep a bit more in a moment. The stars calling await us.” Her last words were hushed, only meant for the young child’s ear, and ended with her drawing away from the den and out near the males, her lips spread in a lustrous grin.

(XDD It is a lot of back and forth, totally readable still though so no worries!! *enjoys this RP so much ;;*)

(<33 I hope we can get more owners to join!)

Lyrae licked her lips to soothe her dry throat. She sneezed into her shoulder, then stood for her mother. Her allergies were bothering her just a bit this evening, perhaps because she had been lying down, or maybe she was allergic to a nearby Sapling's outlandish foliage. That was a minor problem in Lyrae's dreams of traveling. She was allergic to so many unavoidable plants and animals.
Lyrae briefly nuzzled into Asmerelda's side, then raised her head to meet these new Saplings. The budding milkweed growing from Lyrae's skull shook to greet them.

Aussie and Picard walked excitedly to Lyrae. The three of them sniffed one anothers' noses, politely nuzzling the air around each Saplings' faces. After titles and names had been shared, a relaxed energy around the forming pack eased into place.

Picard tilted his head towards the heavens. "Asmerelda," he asked, "what are your thoughts? Should we travel tonight, or wait for dawn?"
Aussie's tail swayed in a small, slow, figure eight motion. Early morning took up his favorite hours of the day. He loved soaking in the warm energy of the star, the sun. But- Aussie had not nearly the same connection to the all knowing star as Picard and Asmerelda did. For all her knew, it wanted them to leave as soon as possible.

(I think this is a good end for their first meeting. 8D<3 Hopefully we can get more members to join in the Paccck. That'd be wicked! And with new babies on the way, we should be able to draw in new members/rpers! How bout that! *glee*)

Watching the scene unfold, Asmerelda had taken a seat in the background with a pleased smile pressing her ears as far back as manageable. There seemed to be a peace in this moment, though there was no real surprise there. She believed in the good of both the male saplings, as well as her daughter lyrae and held no fear for the meeting. Picard and Aussie seemed to take to her, just as she did not mind them at all it would seem and within minutes of their introductions the lot seemed to ease into positions screaming comfort and security.

It was Picard who broke her concentration with a question she did not seem to have an answer to; not an outright one, anyways. A settling breeze passed over the gang and pushed Asmerelda backwards into the den, her body leaning inwards on itself. Her eyes had been shut again, and she let the silence that fell throughout the woods decide for them. “We will stay till dawn, it is safe here. Tomorrow we will go look for food, as well as something to ease a stifling cold, how ‘bout that Lyrae?”

She rose onto her feet, stepping backwards and into the den further. “You both are welcomed to stay inside or out, the choice is yours. There is plenty of room, and it is best we all get some rest; I’m sure the stars have something in store for us tomorrow.” The placid, all knowing smirk she bore held fast as she passed a gentle nod to each of the saplings before her, then nudged the hind of her daughter into the darkness of their housing. “Good night, my new friends.”

Spinning on her heels, the female disappeared within the confines of her home, a sweet lullaby hummed as she prepared for slumber.
