I show a lot and during this summer my horse started to freak anytime we would jump something with flower. At home we jump 3' with ease all the time, and we show 2'3"-2'9", he's perfectly fine with normal jumping just not flowers.

Does anyone have an idea how I could fix this?

Do you school with flowers at home? Is he afraid of flowers if he's not jumping? Make sure he's fine with the flowers on the ground, let him sniff them, see that they're not horse-eating monster flowers.

Once he's comfortable with them on the ground, not jumping, have them sitting in the arena while you're schooling jumps, but not jump over them. Just have them around. Then move them right next to the jump, and slowly move them until they are under a jump and it becomes a real flower box again.

To prevent problems like that in the show ring, try to come up with ways that you can "scarify" your jumps at home. We put traffic cones, jackets, horse blankets, water bottles, anything that we could find around the barn (that was safe) under and on our jumps, back when I used to event. None of our horses ever looked at a fence when we went to competitions because they were so used to seeing paper plates covered with tinfoil spinning around under the poles...

haha thats exactly what i was going to say. we have a horse named puff (don't ask...i didn't name him. someone else at the barn did...) who used to be terrified of flowers for whatever reason. so we just started schooling him around flowers and stuff. starting off with just flat work around them through them, etc. and then jumping next to them, slower working to over them. and now he jumps pretty much anything. (to the best of his ability anyways.)

it'll just probably take alot of schooling work. good luck smile

Thanks for the tips! I had a lesson today at around 7pm and he was so excited to jump, I don't thin he ever looked. There is one jump in are ring that is so covered in flowers, I was shocked when he jumped it with little to no problem, beside for alittle bit of over jumping. Which is mostly normal for him... xd

Try not to expect him to freak out about the flowers.

My horse freaks out at the teeniest, tiniest things. So I have to not give a damn about ANYTHING. If I don't keep applying my aids exactly the same, he's freaking out. Even talking to him to soothe him makes him more on edge.

Ignore all bad behavior and re-apply your aids.
