Weaving deftly through thickening forest Syon watched, without quite seeing, the light that had seeped through the tree tops, dappling the earth in sporadic patches of light.
His travels had been blessedly free of soquili - his lip curled in veiled disgust at the thought - thus far, though it had been void of fellow Cerynei as well, he noted with some irony. The thought that the others of his kind had so readily integrated themselves with the soquili of this land was maddening at the least.
Stepping a bit harsher than he had before Syon huffed out a breath, sending dried blood flaking from his lips. He paused, nose wrinkled in disgust before casting his gaze about for a stream or river or-- there! He quickened his pace as the lake came further into view, hesitating briefly at the murky edge before stepping into the shallows.
Inky black hair pooled around his face as he bowed his neck, lips grazing the water to rid them of his own coppery blood before his head snapped up at the sound of rustling leaves.
Scowling hard Syon resisted the urge to trample the rodent, now scurrying quickly away, that had caused the disturbance. Giving the area a quick once over as he backed out from the shallow water, his ears swiveling in agitation at his own reaction, he continued along the lakes edge pointedly ignoring his own instincts to move away from the area.
