Nerrius stood by a fast running creak. His wings were folded and tucked in to prevent being snagged by twigs, and his head was bent low, as if in apology, watching his reflection ripple as water passed over pebbles. He had been standing there for a few minutes after stumbling upon the creak, and soon he was sure he'd have to tear himself away from it and move onwards. Just before lifting his head though a small frog landed where his reflection was causing a splash. Jerking his head back Nerrius stared at the frog for a moment before chuckling. Shaking the water off his face he watched the frog hop away with a smile.
Quite the nice place this forest is... Trotting alongside the creak he watch the surroundings, observing the many crooked trees that were full of knots. Though it was just observing, as his thoughts were far from focused on where he was. They were little random topics, and just like the frog his mind jumped from one to the next.

Nearby, laughter echoed across the water as there was a splash near a small rocky outcropping, a squeaking rabbit having run off the edge. Another splash followed soon afterwards as a young adolescent mare, wild hair slept into the shallow creek as well, chasing after the soggy and struggling rabbit, a wide grin splitting her face as she swooped down and grabbed the creature by the scruff of the neck and began to fairly dance towards the shore and Nerrius, tail lifted high.
Setting the rabbit down, she nudged the panting creature with her hoof, making it start the hop exhaustively away a few steps, panting, "come on, play." Snorting, the girl suddenly noted the approaching stallion, ears perking up as she let the rabbit slink away under some bushes. Laughing, she started running towards him, bounding excitedly, "Caloo! Callay! Hello there mister."

Nerrius's ears perked as he heard laughter. Turning to where it originated he saw a mare with a rabbit come in to view. At first he thought she was torturing the poor thing, but came to realize that it was mere play (well, for her at least, the rabbit not so much...). His eyes followed the rabbit as it escaped, before flicking back to the mare as she greeted him.
Bowing his head he gave a gentlemanly smile, "and hello to you, ma'am." So far from just her greeting she seemed like a world of child-like innocence, and Nerrius began to wonder what possessed her to play so roughly. Did she not have siblings to learn from? Where if she did something that hurt the other she'd learn not to as they'd respond with an "ouch!". Or could it be she was improperly raised? It couldn't be her... she didn't look like a bad one at all. Realizing he had forgotten his manners he began to introduce himself, "I'm Nerrius, and may I ask your name~?" He couldn't help but be a little formal.

Laughing, the young women raised an eyebrow, that large grin still plastered on her face, an over large jacket, not quite grown in to, shifting awkwardly on "Praetoria." She began to stalk the rabbit once again, snuffing at the ground as she tried to find its location, then snorted excitedly as she found a tangle of poison ivy vines, and began to gather them with her front limbs, which where blotchy with red sores. Obviously this was a common occurrence, "Have you ever seen what happens when you toss these onto someone? They dance for hours."
Laughing, she looked over at the stallion, "Frabjous. Though, older-little cousin always gets so uffish afterwards. I don't see why."

"Hours? Well that must not be a very pleasant experience..." He tilted his head to the side slightly, "and I can imagine why. You're cousin must not like having poison ivy tossed on them, and it's not a kind thing to do anyways when they've tried to make that clear in the past. It may be entertaining to you and others, but not to them." He lowered his head to examine her front limbs, though was sure to keep his head well away from the ivy.
Lifting his head again he looked at her curiously, "doesn't it bother you at all?" His face expressed concern, and he had the urge to quickly help her get some treatment for the sores. She was too young to have scars...

Shrugging a little, Praetoria continued to gather it, the sensitive stalks and leaves bruising slightly and spreading the oils on the already rashy, thin fur on her forelegs, "I'itches a little." She paused slightly, ear flicking towards Nerrius with a soft noise before turning to look at him, eyes tight and expression confused, "Whats Poison Ivy? Eh, but what wouldn't be fun about dancing? You mash these dancing vines up under hoof, then push them off from over a rocky outcropping or kick them up with your back hooves onto Kaliska, and she dances. Not much else to do out here 'cept chase rabbits and gather dancing vines. Though.. Kaliska's already grown up now..."
The girl frowned, ears backing slightly -- she was younger then she looked, but older then she acted, "And papa.. I haven't seen him in almost a month. Lookin for his "san-ty". Have to do most everything myself now, I do."

"Poison Ivy is what you're gathering. People tend to stay away from it along with Poison Oak and other harmful plants," he chuckled, "and I'm afraid you've misinterpreted her dancing. It's because she's trying to get it off- because it's harmful to her. You know how it itches a little for you? It itches a whole lot for others." He nodded, "and I'm sure there's plenty of things out there for you to do."
Flicking his ears upon the mention of her papa Nerrius felt some empathy. He narrowed his eyes, "you can't be serious can you? Everything?" He flicked his tail, "you must be lonely, with your father gone and your cousin grown up..."

"At times" Praetoria admitted, kicking the vines somewhat upset -- she wanted to have fun but obviously this stranger didn't approve of it, "Why shouldn't I do it still, though? Its fun and There isn't much else to do around here. Papa says getting hurts part of growing up and play is how one learns."
She met his eyes, suddenly looking unusually mature, "I enjoy it..."

"Because that'd make you, uh, well..." How could he put it? She seemed a little old for childlike terms... "A bully", so there was no way around it after all. "And getting hurt is different from inflicting pain. Getting hurt is when you make a mistake like tripping on a stone and falling when chasing someone in a game of tag- then the learning part would be to watch where you step after that. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, though it's better to avoid such things in the first place anyways." He shrugged.
"You do...?" He looked at her curiously, "so you're the independent type, am I right~?" Suited her free-spirited personality.~

"A Bully? Isn't that a terminology for mean people... Or approval. I mean "Bully for you" is a term I've heard before.." Praetoria stomped her hoof a little in thought, crushing the poisonous vine, "I don't really want to be mean..."
She raised an eyebrow, chuckling, "I do consider myself quite independent. I've become a teenager almost completely on my own after all, and survived in such dangerous territory. But... It can be lonely...."

Ack. Terminology, that was a big word... He knew what it meant, but hopefully she didn't know any other big words that he didn't know the meaning of. That wouldn't make him look very good. "That's correct. And I'm quite sure others don't want you to be mean either." He smiled, glad that she understood.
Nerrius listened before slowly nodding, "I see." Flicking his tail he continued, "well, you're not alone right now am I right? So let's make the best of it. Is there anything you'd like to do...?"

A gleeful smile crossed her lips, eyes glittering cheerfully, "I'd like to play a game.. Or learn, I like learning. Especially if it involves play." She laughed, tossing her hair. She then paused, frowning a little as she cocked her head, looking at him truly for the first time, ".... Huh..... I didn't notice you had four wings before... Are those real scales?" She grinned, nudging his side with her nose, Nerrius being the first kirin and Angeni she had ever encountered, "Frabjous!"

"Well, I've had them my whole life so I guess they are," he nodded. "Took me a long time to realize they were there actually," he chuckled. "So a game that is fun and educational at the same time...?" He thought for a moment, not knowing very many, and most games he could think of involved a handful of players. "Uhhh.... know the game I-spy?"

Praetoria cocked her head to the side, eyes wide as she thought about it, "I... Spy? Mmn. Is that the one with.." She walked around in a circle, looking around, "With players going "with my little eye, something that is... red"? There really isn't that much to look at over here other then rocks and trees and the occasional bird."

"Oh, there's plenty of things to look at. There's the clouds above our heads, the earth under our hooves, the air in front of us..." Okay maybe not, "and I see you too. We'd be learning to think outside the box." He smiled, "but if you'd like to play something else I'll gladly think of another." He mused up a few more possible games. Perhaps there weren't a lot of games out there after all... She didn't seem to have the best sense of right of wrong- maybe he could draw a line in the ground, and tell her she should never cross it unless she absolutely has to. Then give a bunch of scenarios, and she'd say how she'd react- and then he'd tell her if she was "crossing the line" or not. Though she and I both would probably get bored of that quickly...
