And our battlefield is...
The Fire Field
A series of thick rock pillars, all different sizes of height, reach towards the stadium ceiling from a pool of hot lava. While there is a fire-proof net far below to catch any pokemon that falls off the platforms, the rock pillars themselves are very hot to touch. They can cause burns if your pokemon stand still for a set period of time. The air around the field is very heavy from the extreme heat.
This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FIRE type attacks.
This field also reduces damage from WATER and ICE type attacks by 25 HP

Raina walked into the stadium once again, with Branimir by her side and took her place at the trainer box. She decided to randomize for the field while waiting for Jenette and so with a push of the button the screen went flipping through all the possible fields, as it slowed down Raina stared in horror, it was going to land on water! "No! Not that!" she said to herself and then sighed in relief when the screen stopped on Fire instead. "Wow, ok... this is good, this is very good." she said smiling and patted Branimir's side as the stadium floor switched and it began to heat up.
A figure moving on the other side of the stadium alerted Raina to the arrival of her good friend Jenette. "HEY! I landed us a good field this time!" she called across the large gap. Looking to Branimir she smiled and hugged his huge neck. "Ok boy, go out there and show them what you're made of."
Branimir licked Raina's cheek before leaping onto one of the pillars nearby. He lifted his head and tail proudly, he couldn't lose here, not in front of one of Rufio's teammates, he'd never hear the end of it.

Jenette was out of breath as she reached the trainer's box. Gently she set down her vulpix Venna on the edge and waved to Raina. It was hard enough to catch her breath as it was, the heat of the fire field didn't make it any better.
"Sorry I'm late Raina!" She called as she huffed and puffed, wiping the back of her hand across her forehead. "Definitely a good field this time!" She agreed with a nod and fingered the balls at her side for the right one. Her fingers grazed a heated ball and she sighed, at least Rufio was content to stay in her ball for now, she just hoped Vulcan didn't hurt Branimir too bad...
"Let's do it Vulcan!" She called out as she threw the ball to the field. The ninetales stepped into the heated field gracefully, his head was held high with a wicked glint in his eye. He wasn't the push-over his dad was. He liked to think of himself as tall, dark, and handsome....

Raina laughed as Jenette apologized. "Don't worry about it, I was enjoying the heat! It's almost like a vacation!" she called and then as soon as Vulcan stepped onto the field she became serious, no fun and games this time.
Branimir eyed his opponent carefully, trying to find a weakness that he could exploit but it was difficult when both of them were fire types. He just had to hope he could land some critical hits this time around. His ears pricked as he heard Raina's voice.
"Start this off with Thunder Fang!" she called out and watched as Electric current began to build up around the large canine teeth and Branimir rushed forward towards his opponent. This would definately be a shocking start to the battle.

"Vulcan!!" Jenette shouted, gripping the edge of the trainer's box. There was nothing she could do before Branimir attacked him. She winced as the eletric current streaked through her ninetales' body.
"NIIINNNNNE!!" Vulcan yelped as the shock surged through his tails. His fur was on end and his eyes were lit with anger.
"Keep down your temper Vulcan!" Jenette commanded, knowing he would attack without thinking if he was angry enough. "Iron Tail!"
Trying to control his temper, Vulcan clenched his jaw, his anger being redirected to focus his strength in his attack. With Branimir so close, he wouldn't have to run to him to attack. His tails became heavy, the weight was easy to see as Vulcan prepared himself and swung his tails around as quickly as possible.

Raina cringed as the heavy tails of Vulcan swung around and hit Branimir sending him flying back a few feet. "Branimir are you ok?!" she called out and she watched as Branimir rose again to his paws and barked, his tail flowing out behind him.
"Try using Will-o-Wisp!" Raina commanded from her trainer box and she watched as Branimir closed his eyes, focusing his energy and then emitted a powerful burst of flames that encircled the ninetales.
Now if only they could keep ahead, she couldn't let Branimir lose now, not after all their training.

"Fire Blast!" Jenette shouted just after Raina had issued her command. She wasn't about to let down time defeat her.
She watched as the flames consumed her ninetales, but she grinned when she saw Vulcan's symbol of fire, more elegantly designed than any of her other fire pokemons'.
"NINE!" Vulcan cried as he stood elegantly in the flames, as if absorbing the extra heat.

Raina had somewhat guessed what would happen and as soon as Branimir had finished up with the will-o-wisp attack and shook off the flames from the ninetales' fire blast attack she was issuing her next command "Branimir use Thunder Fang again!" she called. Then she was planning her next move as she watched her arcanine launch himself at the opponent, his fangs crackling with electric current.
Branimir had rolled his eyes at the ninetales' attack, what a fancy fire kanji, too bad it wasn't very strong. He shook off the flames and was immediately following up with a thunder fang attack per Raina's command. There was no way he was letting a teammate of Rufio beat him.

"Stop him in his tracks with your favorite Vulcan." Jenette grinned. She didn't want to let Raina have the chance at being able to predict a get away for this next one.
Vulcan tried to dash out of the way of the bigger canine, but even his smaller frame couldn't get out of the way of those electric fangs. Once again he was nipped on the tail, one of the places he hated getting attacked. Turning on the spot, in a most graceful manner, Vulcan opened his mouth.
It took him a moment to charge up the Hyper Beam, but he aimed it right for the Arcanine that had damaged his lovely tails...

Raina raised an eyebrow at Jenette's command... she had never battled Vulcan before and so had no idea what was coming next. When she saw the beam charging she called out "Duck and roll!" immediately which sent Branimir rolling out of the way... for the most part, his left side was hit and he snarled with the pain before rising to his paws again.
"Use thunder fang again, and make it last!" Raina called which sent Branimir lunging at the ninetales with his fangs crackling with electric current once again.

This was bad... this was very bad. "Easy Vulcan! Don't strain yourself! Start in your toes and relax!" Jenette called, she knew her newest ninetales was a hot head, easily angered, and she knew that the last attack was a good one. She just hoped Vulcan could get in another attack...
"NIIIIIIINNNNE!!" Vulcan whined through a half opened mouth. His mouth had still been open from his last attack, his tails were spread out wildly behind him, his stance was one that was solid. At least he wasn't in some awkward position. He glared at the arcanine, the electricity still shooting though his body. Trying his hardest, Vulcan began his search for the feeling in his toes...

Raina couldn't help but grin when she saw Vulcan freeze in place. "Great job Branimir, now hit him hard with a Fire Blast!" she called. They only had a short amount of time to make a decisive impact on the battle and she was going to make the most of it.
Branimir smirked as the ninetales froze in place. Almost as if to say "not so tough are you?" before he jumped backward, landing a few feet away and unleashed an extremely hot fire blast directly at Vulcan.

Vulcan's eyes were blazing with anger, but the fire blast wasn't enough to burn him. He was getting tired, he could feel his body weakening. If only he could get movement back...

Seeing how his fire blast attack didn't do as well as he would have liked Branimir unleashed a torrent of flames directly towards Vulcan, at close range, using flamethrower.
