Name: Calowerin
Age: 20
Sex: male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Miner; mason
Rank: Apprentice
Physical Description: Being a miner, and specializing in masonry, takes a certain amount of physical strength- which Calowerin does not lack. He tops out at just under six feet tall, and is slightly-larger than average in build. His weight comes mostly from muscle' Calowerin's arms, legs, chest, shoulders, and back are nicely defined and toned from cutting and lifting large sections of raw stone. At any given time, Calowerin's hands and arms bear numerous amounts of bruises, cuts, and scrapes- a mark of his trade, and his clumsiness.

Calowerin is neither handsome nor ugly. The young mason has dark brown hair; shaggy while slightly wavy, it falls to the tops of his ears and has to often be pushed out of eyesight. Calowerin's eyes are a mixture of colors. Predominantly a bright, clear green- but with enough brown and gold speckled throughout that they're labeled hazel. His skin is lightly tanned, and any prolonged period in the sun results in Calowerin being sunburnt. The miner's wardrobe is lacking in both style and color. Calowerin prefers comfort over style, and seems to adore the colors white, beige, and green.

Personality: Calowerin is an interesting character. He isn't really the sharpest tool in the shed, for starters. But, what he lacks in intelligence is made up with outstanding charisma. Calowerin is very out-going and friendly. The young miner is hardly shy, and is not afraid to start up a conversation- be it with the Masterminer, a fellow apprentice, or the resident watchwher. Calowerin is easily excitable, lacks drive and focus, and often finds himself terribly unmotivated. The young man finds it difficult to remain on-topic, and even more difficult to follow a lengthy conversation; he'll often grow bored and tune out.

To explain his affliction better, Calowerin is very unfocused. While he is a hard worker, and puts his soul into any project he is working on- he finds it difficult to remain focused and interested. Calowerin is easily distracted. Once, while working on setting up the walls for new dormitories, Calowerin left the site with only two walls up, all because he thought he heard a strange noise and just HAD to investigate! It turned out to be the wind. Unable to keep his attention on one task for very long has prevented the otherwise-skilled miner from progressing within his craft.

Easily excitable, Calowerin is generally good company. He is socially skilled, and loves to talk, and talk, and talk. Calowerin can make interesting conversation out of just about anything. But, not being the brightest out of the bunch can lead to some interesting comments sometimes. The miner is both fiercely loyal, and easily trusting. He often blindly places faith and trust in others, but as of yet it hasn't come back to bite him in the a**.

History: Calowerin's parents were simple workers, neither of outstanding rank or wealth. They expected all of their children, all six of them, to earn their keep somehow. Calowerin was born smack in the middle of the brood- and often found himself looked over. But, his cheery nature led him to take it all in stride. He relied heavily on his next-oldest sister for companionship. Calowerin and Cayella had a very close relationship, and the two were separated fairly early on. Cayella was sent to the Harper Hall for training; the girl was an outstanding singer. Calowerin was shipped off to the Miner Hall, where he found many friends and loved what he was taught. He kept in touch with Cayella, through letters whenever they could be written and sent- but with such intense training for them both, the letters became more and more infrequent.

Life at Crom was easy, and Calowerin enjoyed what he did. The miner never felt the tug of wanderlust, and was content with the idea of living out his days as a miner. But, with the Weyrs overcrowding, they expanded their areas of search- and Calowerin, unexpectedly, found himself invited to Ista Weyr. To be a candidate! The young miner agreed easily, and has recently arrived at the Weyr. He knows nothing of the turmoil within the Weyr, nor anything of its recently traumatic Hatching. He finds himself thrown into the middle of a mess, and has yet to realize it.

Pets: n/a
Other/Talents: Mining, masonry, stonecutting. Prefers to be called 'Cal'.

Will this character be a candidate? Yes

Unfortunately, dragons do not Search people with any sort of mental disorder. While Cal can still be excitable and easily distractable, it can't be to the degree of ADHD.

Good luck!
