Pacha had just clambered off of a small skip from Kyushu, and was now laying- sprawled out on the docks. His eyebrows were squinted down just a bit, and his bottom lip was hanging. The boat trip hadn't agreed too well with his stomach.
Pacha was found as an egg, in Kyushu, by his brother figure, Jerro. Pacha was in Honshu because Jerro desired a short break in Pacha's complaining about Kyushu's humidity, and strongly suggested Pacha take a trip to Honshu (he tossed him on a boat).
Pacha flicked his ears back and made a "muurrr" whimper as people walked around him. He had started to pull himself out of everyone's way, towards a little grassy area.

Buka was scuffling around in some grass, completely ignoring the humans bustling about the busy harbor. He could've sworn he'd buried some sweets around here somewhere- but no matter how much grass he ripped up he just couldn't sniff them out. He made a sigh of frustration and plopped down onto his hindquarters, and it was as he raised his gaze that he noticed the pup weaving through the crowds.
Oh ho! He thought. A kuniku wandering into his shipyard without permission? He didn't think so! He drew himself up, puffing out his chest, and trotted over stiff leggedly.
"Hey! You!"

Pacha stopped dragging his belly and looked up. A Kuniku about his height was yelling at him. "WwhAaat?" He said in a whiney voice. Jerro was in for a full out hissy fit when Pacha got back. At least his mane had de-frizzed a little, now that he escaped Kyushu's humidity. "WwhAaat", he whinned again, tilted his head up and opened his mouth wider than it would be if he were yawning. "This dock is giving me splinters in my belly!" He was talking loud enough for everyone in the harbor to turn and wonder why that fluffy Kuniku looked so anguished. "WwhAaat?" He dragged himself a little closer to Buka.

Buka took a couple of steps back, startled by the whining of the pup. He hadn't actually ran in to many other Kuniku besides himself- were all Kuniku like this?
He quickly regained his composure and puffed out his mane, flapping his wings a little as he hopped closer. "This here is my dock! You have to ask my permission to play here!"
He knew it wasn't really his dock, but he had been playing a game with himself for the past few days where he pretended he was the lord of the docks, and he wasn't about to let go of the illusion now. He tilted his head, frowning.
"If you picked your belly off the floor you wouldn't get splinters you know."

Pacha paused and tucked his nose into his chest. He fluttered his wings a bit a tilted his ears back, than forwards. "I guess", he said and lifted his belly. He started to walk towards Buka. Buka seemed like an interesting sort of guy, and he had successfully distracted Pacha form his aches and pains.
"So this is your dock huh? What do you do with a dock?" He asked and started sniffing around Buka's paws. "Is it a good thing to have? Should I be jealous?" He asked, skeptically. "My name is Pacha, I'm from Kyushu."

Buka listened as Pacha talked and sniffed his paws. He seemed to be going along with the idea that the dock was Buka's- what a nice turn of events! Buka smiled and sat down, wagging his feathery tail from side to side.
"Yeah! All mine. I bury things here... and... uuuuhh..." The pup had to think for a moment. What did you do with a dock? "Well, there are seagulls you can chase... and sometimes the boats bring interesting things over from across the water. Did you come from across the water?" Buka hoped so, he'd always wondered what was out there- on clear mornings he could sometimes see an island on the distant horizon; and he'd filled his head with daydreams about a mysterious place filled with treasure.
"My name's Buka. I'm not sure where I'm from, here I guess." He leaned over and sniffed Pacha, he could definitely smell the ocean on him. Then again, most everything near here smelt of the ocean.

"You bury things around here?" Buka had better watch out for Pacha's curiosity, his nosiness was always pissing off other Kuniku. "What kind of stuff?" He asked as he started to sniff the ground, walking parallel to the ocean. His little toddler wings dipped up and down as we walked and bumbled along. "What other kind of stuff is there to do in Honshu? Have you ever heard of packs? I hear Honshu has packs of Kuniku!." Pacha started to sniff back towards Buka, double checking the ground he already covered.

Buka narrowed his eyes as he watched the other pup sniff about. If he could manage to find the candies he'd buried when he couldn't it would be quite embarrassing, and he'd probably have to share!
"Oh... nothing interesting." He said, responding to Pacha's question. At the mention of packs Buka hopped up, following Pacha as he paced around.
"You heard that? I've never seen a pack... I haven't been far from here before. If you want something to do I know a super spooky cave over in the forest!"
Buka had stumbled across the cave in the middle of the night, and it had scared the wits out of him. The following day he'd gone back to investigate; only it turned out he was too scared to go very far inside.

Pacha's eyes got a little wider. "A cave?" He paced in place, lifting his right leg, then left leg, back and forth like a anxious puppy. "A-scary cave?" Pacha thought for a moment. He certainly couldn't go back to his brother in Kyushu, empty handed with no story of great adventures Jerro missed out on. (He was busy flirting witha girl, how typical.) And Buka did seem like the kind of guy that could fight his way out of a cave. Pacha gulped, had Buka even though about demons? Certainly he had, look at him! He knows exactly what he's doing! Pacha tried to gulp again, but his throat had gotten pretty dry. "Eh- yes! That sounds like -eh- fun!" Maybe the cave would be less treacherous if two toddlers explored it, rather than just one.

Buka's face broke into a silly grin and he bounced excitedly around Pacha. "Awesome! We can explore it together!" He stopped, turning and raising his wings. "It's pretty scary- n-not that I'd be scared of course!" He puffed out his chest. He couldn't show Pacha he was scared; the other pup had travelled across the ocean and was clearly a grand explorer, he didn't want to seem like a wuss in front of him.
"It's not very far from here, are you good at flying?" He flapped his wings to demonstrate. The journey was much faster on wing, although Buka wasn't that much of an accomplished flyer himself- he could only manage to do flappy jumps followed by extended glides until he tumbled back to earth. This had taken him lots of practice; namely jumping off carts and stalls and earning himself some scrapes.

"Uh-sure!" Pacha lied and did another dry gulp. He fluffed up his wings for maximum velocity (or a minimum of sudden, terrifying, dropping) and hovered with just a few swift pounds of his wings. He landed again and looked up at Buka. "I'll follow you." Pacha paced a little more and jumped onto a nearby post. "If I fall behind a little, it's just because I'm loooking around." Pacha nodded at his own explanation. He kept opening and closing his mouth, licking his lips to try to get some moisture back into his throat. "I ha-a-ve ne-never been to Honsh-sh-u after a-all."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 03, 2009 6:15 am

Buka began to beat his wings and rose unsteadily into the air. "Sure! Honshu is pretty interesting, I guess it must be pretty different from... from... wherever you're from?" Buka lost his concentration as he tried to remember if Pacha had said where he was from, and as he did fell to the ground in a heap.
He scrambled back up to his feet with an 'oof', regained his composure, and flew up to join Pacha on the post. From here could be seen the thatched roofs of the town's cottages further out from the market district, and past them a small patch of farmland followed by a dense treeline. "The cave is over in those trees... near um.. well I'll know it when I'm over there. Be careful around the farms by the way- the cows leave their doodoos all over the place." He wrinkled up his nose at the idea, remembering many a failed landing. He wouldn't usually share such an embarrassing warning, but Pacha was nice and doodoos were not nice at all. He took to the air, flapping awkwardly to gain altitude, then soared over toward a roof. "This way!" He called back over his shoulder.

( "Pacha was nice and doodoos were not nice at all." omg, I love you cdc. xD )

Pacha wrinkled his nose and tucked his tail in and the mention of cow pies. He fluffed his wings one more time. He furrowed his brow and shook his mane, forcing any last bit of confidence into his chest that he could, then took off. "IM FRUM KYAAAASHOO, BI THE WEY!" Pacha tried yelling at Bucka against the wind. He started to float downwards just a bit, so Pacha loosened his knees, dropped onto the roof of a little shack, ran to the edge of it and took off again, hopefully before Bucka noticed. He was actually pretty proud to pull it off without tripping on a roof shingle. Then he wondered how many more times he could pull that off. "ITSSZ NUT FAAR RIITE?"

"Kyashoo?? What's that?" Buka called back as he too made scrambling flappy leaps from roof to roof. He came to a stop on one of the last buildings before the town broke into the fields. He was a little short of breath- flying sure was hard work.
"Not far- just over in those trees. We could always walk some of the way- I mean, not that I'm tired or anything, just to.. to let the humans know we're here. Looking after them!" He didn't want to sound weak or anything. He hopped off the roof, gliding down till he landed with a thud in the muddy grass. A large cow nearby looked up while chewing its grass. He hoped he could remember the way to the cave, he was fairly certain it wasn't too far off.

Pacha looked up just in time to see Buka hop off the roof. The tried to flap his wings backwards and stuck out his legs. The stressed look on his face became more dramatic as he fell closer and closer to the little shack. His little paws slipped and tripped under themselves as he fell into the roof. The side of his face bounced off and he tumbled to the ground on top of Buka. "Oof!"
The cow next to them spooked and skipped away, mooing. "Sorry..." Pacha sighed. "I guess I'm okay with walking" he joked. The sun beat down on them, crickets shouted in the grasses around them. He smiled and rolled off of Buka.
