(First post, introduction forum. wink ) Well, I play a DaemonHunters army. Although not all my games will be purely grey knights, they deffinately develop the core of my army and will make up the majority.

Well, I'm not to good at painting but I would lover to offer my little bit of advice. 1.Get a go-to brush! While I'm painting I try and find one brush that isn't to big and not to small, some thing that can be used in almost any situation. Finding a brush that you can work with easily and is readily available.
2. Make sure you under coat your models smoothly and thinly. Making the undercoat think will lose detail. Also for starting out as a new painter don't try to paint like a pro.
3. Don't rush is the most important thing. Painting will probably take a little time.
Hondapunx I'm sure can offer some advice.

Smooth...lol...personally...I mix colours a lot to get my disgusting colours I want fo Plague. But stick to basics for now until you feel comfortable with your skills...and Lace, just use Bronzed Flesh as a basic for Tau. a lot eaiser.

Yes, I don't think I would play them directly because I like the close-combat aspect and small troop count of my grey knights. I would love to start a second hand guard army though...I think they'd be a fun one to try out.

I Always start with a good black undercoat. so then if you finish and miss tiny spots it wont look too bad.

Laceye, you just started tau like a week ago! Come on, don't pretend like you hate them now like you did with your chaos space marines. Anyway, sorry I understand now what you meant.
And honda yes, an undercoat is always prefferable. Do you choose to paint or spray yours on? I always paint it on...I don't feel right giving it a spray down.
