His visit with the Alu'nadi had gone well; better than he'd expected. She had seemed more than happy to help him with his 'makeover' and now that it was done... Well, now it was time to find his mate.
In hindsight it may have been a wise idea to find her before he immersed himself completely in their new life, but it was something that he'd needed to act on at that moment, not wanting to chance giving it a second thought. Now he wanted, no, needed, to find her to let her know that he'd accepted everything; what they had done, where they had come from, and even where they were now.

She had found a nice spot to lay down and nap while the rest of her family was off doing whatever it was they were doing. She wasn't really needed as 'mommy' anymore now that her children were grown and starting to lead their own lives. Tambaa seemed to be getting on better and was dealing with his new life and hadn't seemed to need her around constantly either.
She felt a bit unneeded even though she knew she was still loved. Sighing softly she relaxed in the shade. She should be reveling in her lack of responsibility for the moment. And here she was moping that her children didn't need her attention.

He paused when he caught sight of his mate, feeling the same swell in his chest that he'd felt the first time he'd happened across her. She was every bit as beautiful now as she had been then, their time together making his heart grow fonder. She was, without a doubt, his other half.
Smiling he moved once more, letting his paws carry him slowly towards her. It wasn't often that he could actually sneak up on her, but it didn't keep him from trying.

She wasn't lost in her thoughts enough to not notice the sound of footsteps coming toward her. Smiling sightly one eye slid partially open as the steps neared.
"Tamba..." Her smile softened as she saw her mate returning from whatever errand he had been on.

He leaned down, touching his nose to her neck before giving her a nuzzle, his cheek brushing against hers. "I didn't wake you, did I?" His brow lofted slightly as he pulled back, glancing her over. She looked so... Comfortable.

"No, i was just relaxing." She smiled as she returned the nuzzle. "Thinking about things. Did you take care of whatever errand you were on?"

"Mm, it was no more of an errand than my usual thinking is... Not until I crossed paths with Tawa'di. He said..." He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking on the conversation he'd had with the elder lion. "He'd said that he knew we were going to speak with one another so he'd come to find me, but next time I'm to come find him... And bring you with me."

"Did your conversation with him go well?" She shifted so she could partially sit up. She knew Tambaa had been looking for something to give him a direction and he hoped it maybe have been the elder lion.

"It did. At least, as far as conversations with me go, I think it did." He managed a slight smirk, seeming almost boyish for a moment before leaning in to nuzzle her once more, taking in her scent as he remembered once more what it had been like when they'd first met. "I told him our story... It was strange, telling it like that, almost like living it over again in a way... Every step along the path we've traveled, you're always here at the end, waiting for me."

"Who else would be standing there waiting for you." She smiled as she leaned her head against his. "I am glad you finally talked to someone." She knew she couldn't always be the one to help him with his problems. Some things she just wouldn't understand.

"No one but you... And maybe our children. And Chang." He chuckled softly, letting his head rest against hers for a moment. "I want to stay her. With you, with them... No more constant roaming, no more weary travels. I want this to be our new home." His voice became soft as he spoke, trailing off into a murmur at his last sentence.

She smiled as her eyes closed again. "I was hoping you would think that some day" This place felt welcoming to her. It felt like the home she had been missing for so long. "I'm sure Shujaa and Ariza will be happy to hear that. And Chang will probably tackle you as soon as you say that he doesn't have to walk around anymore"

"We can tell them together, later, but first..." He nuzzled her gently before speaking again. "I want to tell you what Tawa'di told me... About the markings that he and the others of this pride, even of our own clan, bear." And so he did, recounting once more what he and the elder lion had spoken about; how each marking told the story of a memory that the lion who bore it wished to remember and carry with them always.
Once his story was told he pulled away from his mate, stepping back so that he could see her once more. Or, more importantly, so that she could see him, along with the story his own markings now told; their story.

She shifted slightly as he pulled away. She had wondered about the markings but hadn't asked any yet what their significances was. She supposed she should have.
"You really have made this place home." She smiled as she looked at the markings.

"I wanted them to know everything about our lives before. You mean so much to me, Kindoro'ardhi." He murmured as he stepped back towards her, resting his head gently against his once more. "More than I ever thought anyone would, and I want the world to know it. I want to be able to tell our story always."
