 Location:
"Ravenclaw Tower, which is located on the west side of the castle; the entrance is a door at the top of a tightly winding spiral staircase that leads up from the fifth floor. The door has neither handle nor keyhole, but a talking bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. Rather than asking for a conventional password, the knocker will ask a question; if answered correctly, the knocker will compliment the person on the answer and the door will swing open.
The common room, like the other House common rooms, is decorated in House colours (blue and silver silk wall hangings, in this case, and a midnight-blue carpet decorated with stars). The room is wide, circular, and very airy, with a domed ceiling painted with stars, and walls with graceful arched windows that provide a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. There are bookcases, tables, and chairs, and opposite the entrance is another door leading to the dormitories. Beside this door is a plinth on which stands a life-size statue in white marble of Rowena Ravenclaw wearing her diadem."

Taking the first step inside the common room to her new 'dorm', she still can't really figure out how she was allowed to stay in the school, Ophelia let out a yawn. The doorknocker's question the other night had been more difficult; this time she got the answer to the riddle in one guess. "M," she repeated, finding a need to fill the silence that greeted her upon reaching the center of the room, "Mmmmmm..."
She looked around for a while, still intent on finding a harder way into the dorm but not so caught up in the idea at the moment. "Well, however I've been allowed ta stay here, I've been allowed ta stay here," she said after giving the room a thorough inspection, "Might as well enjoy it!" With that she flopped down on the floor to take a nap, making sure to flip her shades down over her eyes before closing them; positive an adventure or two would be waiting after she had had a little downtime.

Faith jumped up the last few steps to the common room entrance; her legs were longer since her last visit to Hogwarts. As she reached the door, the bronze eagle opened its mouth, and, in a raspy metallic voice, asked her the question she needed to answer to get in.
She paused, thinking for a moment. "The letter 'm'," she answered. It was one of those simple questions that required some knowledge of spelling. The door swung open, and she stepped inside the common room. It was exactly as she had remembered. She let her gaze wander over the elegant curving walls, smiling to herself as she recounted the wonderful memories that she had here.
Completely lost in her own thoughts, she nearly tripped over a figure sprawled out on the carpet. Stumbling backwards, she gripped the back of a chair to steady herself. "I-I'm sorry," she squeaked. On closer inspection, she didn't recognize the student lying in front of her at all...

She had been fully asleep for maybe five minutes before hearing someone stumble about near her. Flipping her shades up she blinked at the student looking down at her, "Hello, who are yew?"
Belatedly thinking that while taking a nap on the floor where anyone could step on her was fine with it might not be so convenient for the unfortunate doing the stepping she stood up and stretched, yawning once before apologizing in reply to the other's apology. "Not yer fault, I should have chose a better roost," she said, "Sorry."

Annie sat down in the common room, admiring the stars. On her lap sat a notebook, old and worn from use but it had been in worse shape before. She liked the look of it really, and that was why she didn't use a reparo spell to make it look all new again. In reality, she was embarrassed and trying to avoid the other Ravenclaws. See, she was smart, but she had a problem with riddles. Known to overthink things getting into the room was hard for her and she had had to make her way in with another member of her house earlier.
So there she sat, thinking, trying to wash away the embarrassment, and admiring the stars.

Having silently watched the other girl come in, Ophelia twitched an ear. She thought it was a little rude for someone to come into a room they were supposed to be sharing with others over a period of time and not even introduce themself. Then she figured they might have a reason for not doing so, but then she thought a little and figured that she hersef had no such reason and proceeded to walk over to the girl with the notebook.
"Hello, who're yew? I'm Ophelia Dorrean," she said, grinning her usual grin, "Ya don't much look like yew were going ta introduce yerself so I got tha jump on that, ope ya don't mind."

Annie looked up from her notebook at Ophelia's introduction. She hadn't figured she needed to introduce herself to anyone. Even though she wasn't well known throughout the school by her name, everyone who saw her and had been in the school for the past few years she'd been there knew very well that she was 'the girl who repeatedly blew up the potions lab'.
"Oh I don't mind!" she replied with a friendly smile, "I'm Annie. Annie Everly. Sorry I didn't say anything, I'm not one to approach others first you see. Not unless I have something to say." She closed the tattered notebook, not wanting it to distract her from any sort of conversation that may occur.

"My name's Faith." She squirmed uncomfortably as she said this. She didn't want to add her last name on, either, because namrah always mispronounced her last name no matter how much she corrected them. "No, no, I should've watched where I was going first..."
A little late, she realized that there was a new girl in the room who was also introducing herself. "N-nice to meet you, Annie." Faith smiled shyly, unused to being in the company of namrah who didn't beat her up immediately. "Um, what year are you guys in?" she asked, hoping to start a conversation and maybe make some new friends. "I'm a third year myself, so I don't really have that much experience."

Annie looked over at Faith and smiled. She was surprised she hadn't noticed her. Then came the year question. Annie couldn't remember, year had never meant anything to her. As long as the school sent her an owl she'd show up.
"Fifth? No...Sixth? I dunno. I lost track." she shrugged.

"Nice ta meet ya both," Ophelia replied, her grin still in place. So far these were the only two people from her 'House' that she'd met other than the Head of the House, Professor Niyt. As he had not placed himself high on her favorites' list, she hadn't known exactly what to expect from her fellow House students. She loved the unexpected.
But they seemed freindly enough, just like there were some from the Snake-house who had been freindly and one who had been not so freindly... She'd had fun trying to get him to throw some danger at her, though it hadn't ammounted to much. Her thoughts turned back to the fellow students in front of her at the mention of 'year'.
"I suppose I would be a first year since this is my first year here," she mused aloud, "But technically I'm not supposed ta be here, so it might be more like a 'zero year' or something like that."

"Oh well that makes more sense then!" Annie exclaimed, finding the idea that anyone in this school hadn't at least heard of her was strange, "Well, if you've heard anything about 'that Ravenclaw girl who blew up the potions lab again' that's me." she gave a big smile, proud of such an accomplishment, "Oh, but that rumor that I have my own personal bed in the infirmary? Totally bogus. it changes depending on who she has in."

"Really?" Faith's eyes widened. "I didn't expect you to be so..." She stopped herself before she could call Annie "old". "I didn't expect to be talking to a fifth or sixth year..." she finished lamely, cheeks burning with embarrassment. "Oh, you're the one who blows up the potions lab? Potions is actually my best subject, I could help you-" She stopped again, mortified that she had let her mouth run loose again. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply anything by that. I'm sure you do great by yourself."
She looked to the floor before looking back up at Ophelia. "Really? Why wouldn't you be here? If this is your first time here, then I do think you are a first year..."

Annie giggled, "No harm done. Really all I need help with though is actually following directions. I love potions, I just love experimenting even more!" She smiled then at Faith who, to Annie, was absolutely adorable in her mannerisms, "And year, like blood, means nothing to me. Even if you do happen to be better at potions, which is a little unlikely, I'm sure I have my own advantages!"

"Well, I sort of snuck in," she explained, flipping her shades to her nose, her grin not dissipating in the slightest, "I have no magical affinity whatsoever, I'm a, what'd the headmaster use ta describe me again? Oh, yeah; I'm a Muggle-thingy."
Sitting up straight, as she was quite proud of her 'Muggle-ness', she waited for some sort of reaction similiar to the ones she'd gotten already. There'd been surprise, disbeleif, and distaste, the last especially from their very own Head of the House. And there were a couple who'd thought it was cool. Not that that mattered much. She didn't really care about other's reactions, honestly, she just thought it was interesting to see them.
What she cared about more was the adventure and danger in store for her from those who disliked her and the possibility of finding dangerous things in staying. The Headmaster had okayed it, but she was only going to stick around if it was worth her while... But hey, she was a nonmagical person attempting to attend a magical school; so far this was looking promising.
"So what's all this talk of potions?" she asked, "Do they really blow up that much?" A gleam of excitement lit in her eyes, making her peek over her sunglasses, "Do ya really blow up the classroom so often? Then you have ta be my partner, I hope I kin get in yer class." Yes, she thought, her grin as wide as ever, this definitely looked promising.
