My friend Linda in Croatia had been given an american xbox 360 by the comic book company that she and her hubby work for. She has a european one, but she can't play american games on it, and games take FOREVER to be released in Europe. So i wanted to surprise them with a gift: a power converter! I searched all over town and eventually found an international one. I made sure to get a warranty and all of that and shipped it out. They came back from comicon and picked it up from the post office. Opening it up, they went to plug it in... and it exploded. It completely fried! And on top of that, it killed the powerbox for their 360 too! You have no idea how awful i feel. I thought an international one would do some good, but apparently not well enough T__T FML.

Ahh...I hate dealing with power problems between America and overseas. Sounds to me it was just a plug converter, and not a true transformer. A lot of times with delicate electronics you need a transformer because the voltage in the walls is different.
Maybe you can get it repaired though, if it's just the power input.

O_O
I can't say that I've heard of this happening before, but I'm sure that it can get fixed. Hopfully it's just the power input.

Great news D8 She didn't plug in the xbox 360 when they tested it. The thing just fried. I'm going to have her mail it back to me DX
