Currents toppled over each other in their rush to reach the ocean faster than the next, taking small pebbles with them below into the watery abyss, not to be seen until years later as tiny grains of sand.
While Helberd wasn't one to think, but to rush into something head first instead, sitting there by the narrow bend in the river made him wonder. How had the river first begun to move? It was a mystery to him. How could something so small and pitiful grow so strong and fast, but still remain it's narrow size? It was basically impossible, simple illogical. But it had.
The great golden deer shook his head, putting the thought away for a moment to dip his neck low. He took a small swig of the icy water from the mountains, then focused his eyes on the River's gleaming surface, and in the flick of a tail, got lost in what he, himself thought was a gorgeous reflection.

(@___@ So sorry for the super long wait -- I writers blocked big time) Moving towards a stream she had heard on her travels, the growing mare licked her lips, approaching the water from the rocky paths of the drier parts of the river bed, her eyes and ears more interested in inspecting the weather further up in the mountains, her body tense and ready to flee should a wall of water come their way, exit planned should the stream swell.
However, she froze as she passed a fallen tree, ears perking up and eyes widening at the sight of the gold and snow colored Cerynei, as if afraid she'd spook what she thought was an unusual looking deer.

(( Talk about a long wait? xD It's been a year since you'd replied D| Sorry. I promise to be much quicker from now on * -* ))
Taking one last long drink of the cool water the male lifted his muzzle back to it's upright postion. Halfway to his full height he stopped and his brow furrowed together in concentration. "Hello?" The female hadn't been there before, or at least he didn't think she had been... A smile broke unto his lips and he lifted his head. "I didn't expect to see anyone else, Sorry. You startled me a bit" Helberd tilted his head slightly. The female was...unusual. She was quite short and so he wasn't sure exactly where she was in age.

The young mare remained still, eyes widening further as she realized he wasn't a true deer, but rather another soquili. After a few moments of trying to swallow a panic response, having had one too many bad experiences, she took a step back before stating a quiet, "...Sorry."
Ok, so she didn't get rid of her fearful response, but at least she managed not to bolt this time, "Y-you startled me as well."

The large male chuckled a small bit and smiled, "Sorry, it happens when you wear a candle-bra on your forehead and you're as big as a tree..." With a guesture to his antlers and a grin large enough to break his face, he hoped it would permeate her fearfulness. "Not to pry, but this lands breeds are quiet new to me - could you tell me if...the horns, are they...usual for soquili?" He cocked his head to the side and nodded at her skull, "I don't believe i've seen them before. Sorry if i've asked an odd question."
