Chao blinked as she listened to the second ring sound.
"Ike?" Reid asked, still clinging to his mother's shirtsleeve with his six limbs.
"They haven't answered yet Reid, we might've missed them," Chao replied and listened as the third ring began to sound.

Rabid stood nearby the dresser, holding a damp trembling dragon in one hand and attempting to fix the fish tank lid with the other. Hearing the phone ring, she clicked the lid into place, quickly wrapped Poe in a blanket on her bed, and picked it up.
"YellOO-oo. Rabid speaking."
Ike peered curiously up at Mummy as he sat, petting Poe. The concept of a telephone continued to amaze him.

"Morbid! Hey! It's Chao and Reid, we just got home to your message, is everyone alright over there? It ended in swears and crashes."
"Hi Ms. Mor'd! Hiii Ike!" Reid called, mauvering himself higher onto his Mu's shoulder to be closer to the phone.

"Oh, hey! Yeah, yeah. Everything's fine. Poe just decided to go for a dip with the fish. Twice," she laughed, "Ever seen a baby dragon try to swim? It ain't pretty. So...whaddya say?"
Ike would swear that he heard Reid's voice come from the weird-shaped beige thing.
"Reeeeid?" he asked a bit loudly, his ears folding back.

"Actually... Claus attempted to go swimming once or twice as well, mostly in the bathtub. With me in it," Chao shook her head, only to be nudged by Reid who was now sitting squarely on her shoulders. She nudged him back slightly, "what do I say to the day on the town you mean? I say it sounds great! Reid's been missing Ike-"
"Ike!" Reid called, catching the sound of his friend's voice again from the phone and quickly tugged it away from his Mu, "Ike?"

Rabid laughed and rolled her eyes, yelling "So we're on!" as she handed the phone over to her son.
"Reid?" Ike asked curiously into the strange thing, "Reid on phone? Reid?"

"Sounds great," Chao replied and fially gave over full control of the phone to her son.
"Ike!" Reid glowed warmly, surrporting the phone with two of his hands. "Yes, Reid'n phone. Ike in phone?"

"Ike...Ike on phone..." the boy cocked his head to one side, grinning, "How be's Reid?!" He had to hold the reciever out a few inches from his head. It was quite loud to his sensitive ears, not to mention the fact that it couldn't fit in said ears.

It sounded like Ike was in the phone but maybe it was like the teev, things weren't [supposedly] in the box that held them they were... somewhere... else. Actually both the teev and the phone mystified Reid so he would just take his friend's word on his not-in-but-rather-on-phoneness.
"Reid's ki! How be Ike? Reid see Ike so'n?"

"Ike iss 'kay. Yuh, Reid see Ike....uhhh..." Malachi gave a questioning look up to his smiling Mummy.
"Tell Reid to ask his mum when she wants to meet up, and then we can know, 'kay?"
"Kay," Ike turned back to the phone, "Ike-Mummy say to ask Reid-Mummy when want to meet 'cos that when Reid see Ike and...um...Ike see Reid."

"Hey, Chao! We could meet up...now. Seriously. Aren't you, like, right next door downstairs?"
"Reid!" Malachi chirped happily, "Ike see you soon! Make Reid-Mummy say yah!"

Chao mauvered the reciever so that she and Reid were sharing, "well, erm, basicly, I walk through Reid's closet door and I'm there."
"Yay! Yes. Reid see Ike soon yes, right Mu?" Reid asked, glowing so warmly the shirt he was wearing lit up from below, causing Chao to giggle slightly.
"Yes yes now is fine, we'll meet you outside our door, alright?"

Ike was now on the floor, trying his best to drag Mummy away from the phone, Skelly already grasped in his hand.
"Come on, come on, come on! We gotta go see Reid!"
"Augh! Well, I'll...see you soon!" Rabid was pulled off and hung up. Feeling slightly rude, she grabbed her shoulderbag and ran out the door, bending to her son's height, seeing as to how he wouldn't let go. The pair bolted down the stairs.
Poe trembled slightly, nestled between a large soft purple pouch and his blanket within Master's bag. That was the last time he tried to talk to Bob.
Once he saw what he percieved to be Reid's door from Mummy's directions before, Ike rapped lightly on the door.
"REEEEEEEEEID!"
