Yes, I meant to put Geek, we're both nerds.
Originally, we wanted to have a Masquerade theme, but in my hometown, they're quickly growing popular. I'm not sure what we're doing about the theme now, though.
We were going to hand out those black and white craft masks to the guests, have the wedding party decorate their own and attach mine to my veil.
Our chosen colors are light purple and white, and I'm not sure about flowers yet. I might go plastic.
I already have my dress. (Will post pic)
I have 8 bridesmaids and we're struggling to find him 8 groomsmen.
Bridesmaids will be wearing white blouses and light purple skirts.
I have no idea if my mom or one of my brothers is giving me away.
But one of said brothers is the best man, so it can't be him.
One of my bridesmaids daughter is the flower girl.
It'll be a non-religious ceremony, in a venue we've chosen in my hometown. The reception will be in the same building.
We've got like 40-50 guests so far, btw.
Speaking of the reception:
It's nerd themed.
What does that mean? Well, when we wheel out the "cake", it'll have a cover on it. When we take it off, it'll be shown to be cardboard. Written on it will be "THE CAKE IS A LIE", and then we'll bring out the real one.
I'm wondering, though. For food at the reception...would it be tacky or low class at all to have the whole thing be a "make-your-own sandwich" type of affair, with all sorts of breads, meats, cheeses and whatnot? It's just that this seems easier, cheaper and the best way to encompass everyone's dietary needs.

I don't think it's tacky. I think it's a good idea.
I love your cake idea, and your dress is so pretty smile

Well...we're married now, and we changed basically everything. We ran out of energy to continue planning, when we had changed the wedding theme to a more labor-intense theme. So, we said screw it and went for a simple courthouse wedding. Gettin' hitchedThe cakeUs

Even though you did not do it, that was a awsome idea! So cute! Is it ok if I take that idea for my wedding?
