If kids nowadays are going bi/gay/les because it seems to be the "in" thing to do? This thought occured to me because it looks as if every KID (ages 12-15) is coming out of the closet. And it gets worse, they start acting as if they're all mature because "they get persecuted" for their beliefs when I find that highly questionable. Not to mention, a lot of it seems as if they're doing it because it's "not right", y'know? Neitzche (iirc) did bring about the psychological idea that everyone goes through a bi-curious stage around that time in life (Bi Curious vs Ardent Heterosexuality iirc) so I suppose it's to be expected but really, it is disconcerning.
...rather lost my train of thought, I have too many windows open and too many thoughts going...
So I suppose we're discussing: 1) Kids going [insert sexuality here] because it's "cool" 2) Kids going [insert sexuality here] because it's "against what their parents think" (AkA Rebelling) 3) Kids acting with false maturity do to real/imaginary prosecution and ostracizing 4) Neitzche's theories on pscyhology and how it applies to young people's sexuality 5) Whether I have the right person (It is Neitzche right? Probably misspelled his name.) 6) Whatever I happened to forget that was on topic. Read my damn mind.

I agree with you. Way too many kids are doing it just because it's the "in" thing to do. But I also believe there is some sort of bi-curious stage a lot of kids go through in discovering their sexuality. It's just the way they handle it that counts.

i know a lot of people who do it cuz they think it's part of the "emo criteria" or something, but in doin that, they're only showing that they're posers! and also i know a few people who say that because they're so pathetic they wanna get whoever they can, regardless of the gender. i mean, it's sad, but sometimes (at my school) there will be a lesbian who won't know exactly who else is gay, so she'll go out with a girl who claims to be bi, but all the girls who openly claim to be bi (since pretty much everyone at my school is either gay or straight; no bi people, really) are really just scamming them to get laid. it's sad.
but yeah, then i know a girl who thought she was emo and when she was thinking about reasons for people to hate her, she was like, "and i think i'm bi" but she only said she was bi AFTER i told her i was gay. i mean, same day and everything. the only reason i never beleived her was cuz she was 1)makin a list of why people hate her, though supposedly i was the first person she told, and 2) she's NEVER said a girl was more than pretty but she always comments on guys.
really, i only know of girls who claim to be bi, cuz all the guys i know that ever say they're bi only say that cuz they're in denial that they're actually gay (it's like, some sort of stage a lot of guys around here go through cuz so many people are against gay guys) but yeah.
i'm totally rambling. i agree that everyone prolly goes through a phase of bi-curiosity (which could also explain the insane numbers of kids) but they should really think a lot more before coming out of the closet. makes us look worse...

The girls I see at mine are either bi, lesbian, and now the newest thing I heard of the "formerly bi now total lesbian". To me a lot of girls who claim to be bi, like you said before, are doing it just so people will notice them and then there are others who are experimenting with both to see which they prefer, a friend is actually like this. She doesnt identify with either but does love the body of women. Guys stay in the closet or do everything secretly, I only know one gay guy that has been at my school.

Many people have a period where they are exploring their sexuality. Maybe they're simply confusing being bicurious with being gay.

Yeah. I think some people are doing it because it's cool and they want to "fit in." This chick at my school did it along with her ex. She hooked up with my girlfriend before her and I started dating and one of my friends. Her ex hooked up with another one of my friends. Also, I think that some do it just for attention. They rant about how being Gay is something everyone should accept and act with a high level of snob(Sorry, kind lost my thought). It's a little ridiculous(can't spell either). It also hurts so many people.

I was watching this thing on TV the other day. it was a documentery on how younger kids are coming out as gay or bi because its the popular thing to do. It also said that of the men they studied over 70% of them claimed to be bi, but were actually gay.

Its really sad and pathetic, people are getting beat to death for being gay yet these little wankers are doing it for fun. WTF is wrong with them? People stay in the closet, some even go to extremes and kill themselves because of it. I need to stop, it just pissed me off to no end!
