"I feel so broken up, and I give up. I just want to tell you so you know, you are my only one."

She supposed she couldn't truly be upset anymore - things were going her way. At least... as much 'her way' as they possibly could anyhow. Her belly was finally starting to show signs of pregnancy, but things had been 'fixed' so that it looked like the cubs had been Hodari's all along; Takatifu could only hope that when they were born, the little ones took more after her and her family than Sakata, so that they all might keep up the silent facade.

None of this was really fair on poor Hodari though.

He'd not only lost his mate; the lioness he had chosen to be with for the rest of his life by free will, but his reputation was tarnished. Others viewed him as a two-timing jerk, and while no one seemed to dare say so to her face (let alone his), she knew what they whispered behind their backs.

While most of the old stress was gone, it was replaced with new worries. She was mostly worried over Hodari and the cubs. Tifu wasn't stupid enough to believe there wouldn't be some sort of trouble once the lithe ones were born. A sigh slipped the Pure's maw as she looked off towards the distance, laying down on the small set of rocks where she'd first met the Warleader... where he'd warned her against the queen and asked her to help him in his cause. The irony.

Denial had followed Muhali to the dark lands of the Mizimu, but he hadn't really expected to find what he had.

The pride was insane.

Then again, he wasn't really sure why he was so surprised, taking into account Muhali's domain. Almost all the prides she visited tended to be at least somewhat insane, so the fact this pride sacrificed it's own members should have come as a surprise. A snort of vague mirth escaped the male's maw, though it sounded tired even to his own ears. His 'mate' came and went (though this, of course, wasn't her fault - Muhali was 'off' even on the best of days, really), and he had grown tired of his own existence. He felt like he just couldn't keep up and he had no idea how he could fix this.

He'd even found like he couldn't deny himself anything much longer.

He couldn't continue like this much longer, and Uka knew that much. Shaking his head, the God padded onward, his wings resting folded against his sides and shoulders, for he was just too... tired to hide them. Not like it mattered though; the pride had welcomed him with open arms, which he had found horribly interesting. Of course, they had also welcomed Muhali with open arms, which he found even more fascinating. He was sure he saw actual love in the eyes of a certain male she ran along with at times, not to mention he'd never really KNOWN the small goddess had CHILDREN.

It wasn't till he'd nearly reached the borders of the pride's territory that his eyes lay upon a purple form. He instantly recognised her as one of Muhali's children; Takatifu, if he remembered her name correctly? She was meant to be the pride's most powerful sacrifice to the spirits (how deeply ironic). He'd noticed the drama surrounding her and some of the pride, but hadn't really bothered to pry information and find out what it was all about. What did it matter?

Something... drew him towards her though, and the large winged male found himself padding her way till he was looming directly over her, a silent question ringing on his impassive, stoic features.

"And I've thrown my words all around, but I can't give you a reason."

To say she hadn't been expecting her peace and quiet to be interrupted by the visit of a greater spirit was a harsh understatement (was she slipping? Her powers had to be slipping, that was the only reason she could think of). Takatifu's head snapped up to look into the God's eyes, visibly startled though he'd hardly appeared all of a sudden. Her mouth hung open as she recognized him vaguely (she'd seen him in the pride before, but hadn't had the pleasure of being this close to him - she'd heard something about him being her mother's friend? She couldn't be sure... she'd been pretty wrapped up in her own problems as of late).

"I..." she managed, and snapped her mouth shut just as the sound slipped out. She had to work the stuttering problem she'd developed over the past moon or so, because she was surely starting to sound like an idiot to the pride, "Good afternoon..." she was obviously struggling for a name, but realised she'd not paid enough attention to his arrival to catch it (or his domain, for that matter), "Great spirit," she finished lamely, her form twitching vaguely under his large shadow which easily managed to cover her much smaller frame.

"Good afternoon, Pure," he answered evenly, though there was a vague hint of mirth in his eyes as he murmured her rank title. After all, taking a small glance at her tummy more than gave away that she was no longer as 'pure' as she'd once been, no doubt, "What has you so worried, little one? You look like you hold the weight of the world upon those small shoulders of yours."

The God sat himself on the ground comfortably, allowing her to see that he was, in fact, in the mood for a conversation and that he'd apparently 'picked' her as a his victim.

Tifu felt horribly small, curled up in the shadow he cast over her, and not exactly in the best of moods to talk, what with the current thoughts and problems that swirled her head. However, she was polite enough to know that excusing herself from a greater spirit's presence was bound to have horrible consequences on her future, "I hope it's been a pleasant day for you so far, Great spirit," she paused, obviously unsure of what his name was, "I... am sorry, but I'm afraid I've not caught your name?"

His next question effectively knocked her off the swallow end of the pool and right into deeper waters though, making her no longer really CARE about what his name or his domain were, "I... uhm," wiggling uncomfortably under his gaze, Takatifu tried to settle her eyes on the distant dens of her pride, "No," she said suddenly, "I'm not worried."

Uka found himself arching a brow in mild mirth, "Oh, you're not?" he watched as the lithe female's eyes peeked back at him before looking off into the distance once more, "Denial," he said with a chuckle, "Not just a river in Egypt."

Needless to say, Tifu had no idea what the God as talking about, "What does Denial have to do with rivers?"

A deep, rich chuckle was the only answer the poor female received, and Uka found that he actually very much liked her. He liked the way the poor Pure was looking up at him, as if torn between deep confusion and mild frustration; her features resembled that of a child trying to figure out what she'd missed along the path, "Why, nothing at all, my Dear, nothing at all," he watched as confusion won out over frustration and the lioness tilted her head to one side, as if hoping to accomplish the feat of figuring him out better with such a position. He couldn't help but chuckle at her again.

The poor creature was endearing. That aside, he was pleased to see he had managed to whipe out the horribly sad expression. Confusion looked much better on her.

Tifu on the other hand, was not particularly happy with the situation (though she was failing to see the fact she was no longer upset, which was, needless to say, an improvement). She backpedaled to the beginning of the conversation in an attempt to figure out WHAT they had been talking about before rivers and Egypt (whatever that was), "I am not worried," she replied firmly, "And I'm not in Denial."

She figured that if she kept telling herself that... maybe it'd come true.

This time, the God only smirked, "Ah, you're not in Denial then?" a pause as he watched the lioness frown at him, as if trying to figure out the meaning hidden within his words, "You might not think you're in Denial, but you're WITH Denial at the very least," he was rewarded with another frown as the lioness pondered this, then her mouth gaped open as she added two and two together. It was all so horribly amusing, and for once in a rather long time, Uka found he was actually having fun.

Something told him it might have to do with the fact this female was Muhali's child. He'd always thought that anything Muhali were to spawn would have been deeply interesting at least, "As you can see, child, you can't fool the master of this game, can you?"

The female's maw was still hanging open, and in her mind, she was struggling to figure out her chances of fooling him (and herself) in this game of his, "I..." a pause followed, "I'm not worried," she insisted, "It will be fine. He said so. They both said so. Everything will be fine."

"Hmmm...." came the response from the God as he tilted his head, "It will, will it?" he watched her fidget again nervously, but soon enough, she seemed to become determined, for whatever reason and nodded firmly back at him, "I think you're playing with fire," the lioness opened her maw, as if to rebuke the statement, but he lifted a paw to silence her; she obliged, "And I like that," the smirk was back, and his eyes narrowed as an idea entered his mind, "Maybe I'm getting too old for this game," he told her, watching her intently, "Do you really think it will all right?"

The lioness nodded her head after a pause, and the God stood up, watching her still, "Do you think you have the strength?" again she nodded, "Do you think you have what it takes?" this time she hesitated but slowly nodded again. The smirk grew upon the God's maw, "Very well then," he murmured as he turned away from her, leaving the scene, while still talking to her, "I'll let you have a go at this, since you're obviously better at this than I am, or so you think. I needed a rest anyhow - you come in handy," his wings spread but did not beat. Instead he turned his head to watch her again, "It's a deal," he told her, and then lifted himself into the air.

Takatifu just watched him leave, vanishing into the darkening sky. Something told her she had just agreed to something she probably shouldn't have agreed to. Something... deep inside her said that she had just been played like a fiddle and she wasn't even really all that sure WHAT had happened in their short conversation.

"What?" was all she could say lamely as the God vanished from sight. The spirits laughed with mirth around her.
