ALL FLUTES MUST READ!
1. Thou shalt not eat something sticky before playing thy flute. Trust me, not pretty.
2. Thou shalt not cause severe damage to thy flute during a sword-fight.
3. Thou shalt not deny a fellow flutist to look upon thy music when he/she forgets his/hers.
4. Thou shalt not rat out a fellow flute.
5. Thou shalt drive thy BD insane.
6. Thou shalt not cause bodily harm with thy flute.
7. Thou shalt giggle. Often.
8. Thou shalt annoy the tubas on every opportunity.
9. Thou shalt not leave thy flute in a compromising and dangerous situation.
10. Thou shalt always be there for thy fellow flutists.
11. Thou shalt always play flat, except when everyone else is playing flat, at which time thou shalt play sharp
12. Whenever the low instruments are in hearing range, thou shalt be sure to complain about how big and heavy your case is.
13. Thou shalt play high and squeaky during the high notes, then, if caught, point towards the clarinets, whom are renowned for squeaking.

HAHAHAH!!! i do the high note thing to my Perc. playing sister. she HATES it. lol. she threatens to sharpen her cymbals and cut me.
that is fairly amazing, because you just summed up my flute section.
i marched trombone, and drum majored and every time we'd be walking back to the band room from the field i had my trombone/case, the bull horn, and parts of the sound system we used and i'd pass the piccolos who were complaning about having to carry around their instruments.
i gave them bass drums to carry. cool

Ha those are some good commandments! I agree with number 11 except in cold climates, in which flutes tend to go flat. True fact.

I love annoying low brass!
The clarinets usually are the ones doing the squeaking. XD
Have you ever praticed guard with a flute?
I have..... It was only a little dent...

I agree almost entirely.
I sometimes rat out fellow flutes, but it's all in good fun. And the giggling thing always happened in orchestra. Always. Every Saturday we rehearsed there was giggling.
