I am learning with monkey fist type poi heads, but I've seen people who use other types of shapes as well! Was wondering what it is like using those, and why you use them rather than a different kind. And for fuel we use white gas and lamp oil =3 was wondering if anyone used a different mix of things

Cool! Still learning here, so I just don't know about things like that until people tell me about it or I find out. Sounds awesome though! Silks just not catch fire easily?
Edit: Right, silk as in just cloth not on fire... blagh, mind just thinks "Oooo! long strips of cloth on fire!" xP sorry

I just use the regular wicks for firepoi, I use lamp kerosene for fuel, I like to use meth spirits as it burns really bright but it's toxic to breathe in so usually don't.
I also have LED poi for using indoors, and some cheap flag poi with pretty fire printed looking material. I want M0ar!
