 Elayi was stalking through the woods, searching for her next prey. She was hungry, ravenous. Being a lone wolf wasn't easy, having to watch your own back and hunting at the same time. It caused issues with ones psyche.
Every time she heard the wind blow, or the rustle of leaves, her hackles rose, her lips curled, and she was jumping towrad that direction with the intent to protect herself by any means necessary. Or to kill and eat what she found.
This particular time, she didnt know what the thing in the bushes was...another wolf? She hoped not...she was so tired...too tired to fight at that moment. She'd just gotten into a nasty quarrel with a lynx who wanted her kill. She'd just barely managed to scare it off, and now blood was running down her right fore-leg.
"Who is there?" She barked, not in the mood.

 He paused. A voice sounded near him, and he didn't like the tone it had. Obviously, the voice belonged to a female, but Sway wasn't sure if he wanted to get closer for an inspection or not. Tilting his head and then looking back to his foal carcass, he frowned. The little baby dear would have to be hidden if she came near. He was not about to share his spoils with someone.
Sway had blood dripping from his maw, the kill was fresh, not touched yet. He'd heard her voice just as the last breath slipped from the foal. He growled a warning, if she was close enough and then dragged the dead foal into what he claimed as his den. It was hardly anything more than an empty space in a huge thorn bush. Sure to keep most away from him. Poison berries were all around it, he knew. So, the critters that came and ate them were always a source of amusement for the loner.
"Stay away!" he growled out, teeth baring as he walked around. Which direction had it come from?

"Stay Away!"
Oh yeah, definately another wolf...He sounded angry. Smelled angry too. Smell...she smelled food. Meat...blood. Just the smell made her mouth water. But the wolf sounded so angry...maybe...
"Hello? Who are you?" She slowly crawled in the direction of the wolf, ears flat, tail between her legs. She was ready to beg, but she was also ready to fight for food if she had too. Her belly was fighting her brain.
She stood there in the brush for a moment, waiting fo rthe wolf to respond again...would he attack her?

Begging would do the female no good. It was his kill, and Sway didn't take kindly to sharing, or begging. While he wouldn't attack her, he certainly had no problem defending his own food. Snorting, he growled again, listening to the brush rustle, it was a little unsettling, honestly. He didn't see her, but he smelled her. And it caused him to growl even louder.
Why would she come closer still after his warning? He barked a few times and snapped his teeth at where the scent as coming from, the fur on his back and neck standing up. "Stupid female, get away! He bit out. Hunger made him crazed. Usually, he'd ignore her. But it was the first thing he's caught in a while besides vole and small rabbits.

What, was Elayi crazy today? Even after both his warnings, she persisted. This might be my biggest mistake, she thought, ignoring the pain in her leg. It stung, every so often a small insect landed on her.
She stepped out of the brush, her inner pup taking over as well as her desperation.
It was a large, reddish brown wolf. His teeth were bared, and he looked like her was going to attack, but she took another step forward. She was so hungry. It was as if it drowned all her brain cells and brought her toward this male wolf's kill. Like a fly to a wound.
Speaking of wounds, her own was leaking blood all over the place. What a mess, she'd clean it later.

As she came near, Sway moved towards her, to block her off, growling louder, fur standing straight up now. He was tense; ready to fight if she came any closer, and he let that be known in the way he stood at the entrance of his den. "You take one step closer, and you won't be able to walk anymore," he spat out at her, those icy blue eyes watching the female closely, carefully. Starving or not, it was his.
He did notice her wounded leg. That's where he'd focus his attacks, if it came down to it. Bite and tear flesh from bone to stop her. If he killed her, it wouldn't be uncommon amongst loners. No one would question it.

This time, Elayi stopped walking. She got the message. She stuck her tail between her legs, and crouched down. She'd gone too far...crap. The things the stupid wolf got herself into. He was bigger than her...and not wounded.
The reality of the situation kicked in. She backed away, creeping back into the brush, but close enough so that she still saw him. Maybe he would abandon the kill if he got too cold. She whimpered.
She was so hungry...it was all she could think about. Ugh.

A sick grin spread across his face as he watched the female retreat back into the brush. So she was going to play the waiting game? She'd be waiting for nothing, he was afraid. "Get your own kill," he growled as he slowly backed into his den. He laid at the entrance, the kill near him, knowing she wanted his meal. But he wasn't about to give it to her. He'd earned this foal. Even wounded, she could get vole or something small to fill her.
She looked like a back female, like she'd never done anything for herself, honestly. Sway didn't care for packs that didn't teach every member how to hunt and stay alive. With his ears lowered, he dragged the kill in front of him, taking a huge bite out of the foal's side and stomach, chewing noisily just to mess with this female.

Being in a pack would've been much easier, Elayi thought. But no.
Deciding to take his advice, Elayi scoped out the area around the wolf's den. Maybe a squirrel or something.
Something about the male wolf intrigued her, even if he was...well...angry. She couldn't blame him. If she was in his place, she would've done the same thing. She would've attacked right away, though. That was his mistake.
But something about him...made her stop and think. And then a stupid crow landed mistakingly too close to Elayi. She snapped her powerful jaws around it's middle before it even had a chance. She'd heard that Crows tasted horrible, but it'd have to do. Ick...
How many emotions could Elayi go through today? She cursed herself. This wolf was good with messin with her, she though, as she heard him snap his jaws around the foal loudly.
She ate her crow.

Sway laughed as he saw her get the crow and shook his head. Stupid female. Crows carried all sorts of health problems. He got sick after eating one when he was a teen. And he'd left them alone since then. Swallowing the meat in his mouth, he continued to eat it. For the most part, he ignored the silly little female. She'd never survive off of crow. She should have aimed for a rabbit or a squirrel. Her mistake, not his.

Almost immediately, the effects of eating the crow seeped in. Oh, god. She vomited, running away from the interesting male and his kill. Oh god, oh GOD...
She collapsed carelessly somewhere between six or seven yards away from the den. Stupid Elayi...eating thats stupid crow must have been the second biggest mistake of her life. Alomst with staying near that wolf. He'd driven her crazy. He was so...
Elayi didnt even know how to say it. She was embarrassed.
