 Selana was walking towards the river when she saw another ridaeh sitting down in the shade. He seemed to be pondering something and Selana did not want to disturb him so she started to head in another direction. *Snap* she heard it loudly and looked at the branch which she had just stepped on and sighed. So much for giving him peace and quiet she thought as she looked over to where the male ridaeh was and saw him looking at her curiously. She sighed and trotted over to him with a smile on her face. "Sorry, I didn't mean to break your concentration." she mumbled.

 Universe had been wondering about life and if life was worth it if one had to live it alone. He had seen many creatures fall in love and start families and wondered if they were truely happy. He looked at them and saw that they seemed to be happy and loud at time but once again still happy. Universe pondered whether such a relationship was meant for someone like him, who always questioned everything, no matter how confusing or solid it could be. And relationshops never were easy to understand in his opinion. Then he heard a loud snapping sound which broke his concentration. He turned around and looked towards the sound and noticed a pretty female ridaeh who started walking towards him. She apologized and he smiled. "No worries. What's your name?" he asked curiously.

Selana blinked at his cordial tone but smiled more brightly. "My name is Selana, and nice to meet you. May I ask your name? Oh, and if you do not mind, perhaps you will tell me what you were thinking about so deeply." Selana stretched and sat down beside him, making herself comfortable and relaxing as she loved to do. She had always been a laid back, relaxed person and she got the impression that this ridaeh wouldn't mind a bit if she did what she wanted. Besides, if he wanted her to leave, all he had to do was ask and she would.

Universe smiled as he watched her make herself comfortable. He thought it must be nice to be able to relax so easily in the presense of others.. "Well, first off, my name is Universe. And pondering is just something I always seem to be doing. But in this case, I was wondering about life and love. And if life is worth living without love in it. Does that make sense?" he asked her, wondering if she could possibly understand his dilemma at all or even better answer his questions for him as he had not been able to find an answer himself.

Selana just sat there silent for a few moments, her expression sad. "I cannot answer that for you. For me, I hope to find someone smart and caring to love me. Someone who doesn't just go with the flow as I would, but questions things and makes the relationship more fulfilling. But I can say this, I do not want to live with the thought of never finding love. To me, life would not be fulfilled without it. But there are more than one type of love you know. You can love family, friends, or a mate. So just depends on what you are looking for."

Universe thought about her answer for a while before he said anything. "I believe that you are right. You need some form of love in your life to be whole. But how do I find such love and with whom. I do not have a family. Nor do I have many friends that are Ridaeh such as you and me. How can I find a mate then, if I do not know that many people." Then he stopped and looked at the fascinating Ridaeh before him. She had said that she wanted love in her life, but hadn't said whether she had found it or not. Though from her words, it sounded as if she hadn't. He wondered if she could fall in love with him and vise versa.

Selana saw a look come into his eyes and suddenly she felt drawn to him. It was a look of loneliness. Selana looked at him and studied him for a while then realized that he was just what she wanted. He seemed caring and was definately smart. And he questioned everything and didn't let things sit until he was sure it was right. "Well, you could fine a ridaeh you get along with and see if emotionally it could become more. Or find a ridaeh who you like, at least as a friend, and mate as convience for marriage and hope for a more fruitful relationship to develop. Or you wait until you are sure and hope the other ridaeh feels the same way. Could be someone you've known for a long time or someone you just met."

Universe looked at her and thought for a few moments about what she had said earlier about what she was looking for in a male. She wanted someone smart, caring, and who questions things. He fit that description really well. Why couldn't he ask her to try. Worse case scenario, she said no and headed off. Best answer was she said yes and they did fall in love. He could tell that he would like her because she did give thought to the answers of his questions and didn't just give him some half-assed responses. He decided and took a deep breath. "Will you be my mate, or at least give it a chance? I think we could become really close and I think I can be what you want in a male. And you suit me fine with you relaxed but serious thinking."

Selana's eyes widened as she looked at him. She was surprised he had figured out already what she had only begun to wonder. They would do well together and she kind of liked his boldness in asking her, even though they had just met. She normally liked to take things slow and at a relaxed pace, but could tell he liked to figure things out and get things going. Even if it did take a long time or short time to figure out, he was the type to go after what he wanted. She smiled and laughed. "Normally I would say no, it is too early. But I believe you are right when you say that we will do well together. So yes, I will give being your mate a shot. Worse case scenario, we break up. If we do have kids, then we will just have to make sure they get to see each other." Selana said, trying to be realistic but was extremely happy inside. Perhaps she had finally found someone she could love.

Universe smiled at her. "Well then, here is to a hopefully happy and interesting relationship." he said and stood to go over to her and sit beside her. "I propose we get to know a little about each other. I am pretty wise and like to think things through. Sometimes I forget what time it is and just trail off and forget I should be doing something. Though I get it done eventually. I like to lay about in the sun all day if I can." Universe started and went on, so that Selana could know a little about him.

Selana smiled as she listened to him speak to her about himself. She beleived that she made the right decision in choosing him, even though they had just met. But besides, what was love at first sight if you didn't get that connection quickly? It would just be a myth and she wanted to believe in it. So when he finished, she began to tell him about herself a bit. "I do not have family either though I have many friends. I sometimes stay at a mansion where lots of different creatures live. It is a haven that this human created for those who need a place to stay. Otherwise, I'm pretty laid back and like to enjoy a beautiful day like today. Don't like to be rushed and enjoy having a good time." she explained as the bond between them quickly deepened.
