Death wasn't quite as bad as Bunji had thought it would be.
He had committed many crimes against plenty of people in his time, being a sweeper wasn't a particularly peaceful job nor did he claim it to be one. He knew he hadn't been a saint so the idea that he was allowed to have peace in the afterlife puzzled him. He had expected fire and brimstone and eternal damnation for following Harry's plan, but here he was sitting in a grassy field watching his "guide" attempt to converse with another spirit that she had coaxed into following her.
He made a contemplating noise before closing his eyes recalling the days long past, of the first time he had died at Bran- no, Grave's hands. The gunman wanted revenge against Harry for killing him for what appeared to be no reason - a moment of madness -(some say it was jealousy, over what Bunji had no hell of an idea, he'd have to ask Harry if he ever saw him again), not that Bunji had known that fact at the time. He had simply been told that Brandon had broke the iron code and was dealt with. End of story... at least for years until a silver haired man came with that little brat to take down Harry. By that time Bunji supposed he had went mad, he had killed his other partners and chose to work alone.
Bunji had been surprised at first, Brandon was different but the same, and the b*****d had turned against them for his old flame's kid. Now he felt regret thinking that as the little girl didn't deserve the s**t that happened to her; but he hadn't known at the time, and the pain of being left behind had overwhelmed him to the point that he wanted to blow Grave's brains out.
He was in denial when he first saw the gunman, but after going to dig up Brandon's grave and finding nothing inside he no choice but to accept it. Brandon was a necro-riser and was out to end Millennion and kill Harry. It didn't take long for him to hear the report that Brandon was in sector C Bunji had made a plan to chase after him and end it; he couldn't let Grave go without finding out why... but, traitors couldn't be forgiven, right?
Knowing he was at a disadvantage Bunji had planted bombs around the neighborhood hoping to take Brandon by surprise so he could use the new special weapon designed to break Grave's body down. The battle went well for the first part, but Grave would reveal nothing to him regardless of how many times he asked and then she showed up pointing that little pea shooter at him, like she was really going to fire.
That's when he made the major mistake of pointing his gun at her and firing trying to get her to shut up but it only served to upset Grave and give him the power to get up and beat the s**t out of him into unconsciousness, but with the little girl's protests Grave stopped and fled the scene.
After that Bunji wandered around in a drunken stupor, he didn't know what to do anymore, he was unable to put an end to Grave. That's when he finally deciding that it was time to accept that he had to become a "superior" to defeat Grave even though the thought of becoming one disgusted him.
After that there really wasn't much else to do but wait until Brandon arrived at the headquarters building; Bunji knew it wouldn't take long, Grave only had a short time left or at least if the serum worked he didn't have that long.
As he predicted Brandon arrived and the battle was waged, even after mutating himself with the superior serum Bunji still couldn't defeat Brandon and the necro-riser put an end to him. "That's life, bro, know what I mean?" His final words rung in his ears but he had no regrets after all he had died for Millennion, died as a loyal solider, and died with honor... right?
Bunji hadn't traversed to the garden that time, it had been blackness for an untold amount of time before he woke up again. He was disgusted with the Corisione family for bringing him back as a deadman with the use of that Seed, taking the superior serum had been one thing, but this was a whole different situation and he wanted nothing more than to end his pathetic existence.
That's when he discovered that Grave was out to destroy the Corisione family and began to plan his defeat at the other's hands, but even though he knew Grave might be the only way for him to end he didn't want to let Grave best him again. He couldn't just swallow his pride, and if he put up no fight there was a chance Br--- Grave wouldn't kill him.
Taking orders from the Don just to ease complications Bunji hunted Grave, eventually finding his brother was now also a deadman and working alongside Grave. He was shocked, Juji had been doing well for himself, how was it possible that his brother had fallen?
When he greeted Juji the younger hadn't received him well and scolded him once again for skirting responsibility and doing as he pleased, Bunji knew that his brother was still bitter so he chose not to stir any more bad feelings... They were both already damned and could be no reconciliation. Their battle ended with Juji the victor and Bunji had let death take him that time and he was sure that it was for good then.
"Buunnji~! Bunji are you ... asleep?" The voice of his guide called out from somewhere overhead and Bunji cracked an eye open to offer her a small smile. That was the past, and for some reason whatever god there was decided he was going to get a break.

Death was sort of irritating, but wasn't everything?
Juji frowned as he wandered about the garden aimlessly, he had been lost in thought much the same as his brother was but he'd never admit to doing something like Bunji. His hatred still warm and alive, poking up every time the two wandered too close to their guide at the same time.
He couldn't remember when it had begun to go wrong; it could've been when their parents ran out on them, but Juji really considered it the time when his brother left him for that damn organization... For Harry McDowell and all the nonsense that surrounded that power hungry b*****d. Juji remembered it well because he had disagreed the entire time, they were already working for someone else, they were already assassins! There was no need to join those guys, but Bunji never listened, never maintained any sense of responsibility towards anything in his life so what made that time any different?
Life went on after Bunji left and Juji found himself working small jobs to keep himself alive, it was tough but what didn't kill you made you stronger. Meeting Garino Corisione had been the nail in his coffin so to speak, he had been used and tossed aside like some cheap trash in efforts to develop "Seed".
The effects of the Seed and the fact that he was a deadman only further worked to frustrate him; he had gone blind but his other senses developed. Unfortunately he stumbled on what appeared to be a piece of s**t guitar from anicent days that turned out to be a ghost who turned out to be his only damn friend in the world, heh, he couldn't believe he considered that idiot a friend but Billy never betrayed him like Bunji had.
Traveling with Billy lead him to Grave and Grave lead him to his revenge and Bunji again... Some people never changed, Bunji was the same stubborn a*****e that he always was even when faced with certain death. Juji still didn't understand Bunji's motives.
"Hey! Juji, come back now!" The guide called waving her arm in the air to get his attention. He thought her to be a nuisance but saw no reason to get into a silly argument with her and began to move towards her, least she didn't reek of Bunji.

Months had passed and Bunji found himself wandering aimlessly again to that place, that one that not even his guide was able to find when he didn't want to be found. However, there was one other spirit that knew how to get to where he was and he was beginning to not be bothered by it.
The female was inquisitive and pushy when she wanted something, and he found himself amused by her little quirks. She was so young, but she was already here, he deserved to be dead after all the crimes he had committed but what happened to her? He hadn't been able to bring himself to ask but it ate away at his thoughts. "I can hear you, you're not good at sneaking up on people."
"Well, I wasn't trained as a sweeper or a spy!" She retorted with a frown as she tried to climb up to where he was; despite his better judgment he found himself leaning down to help her up. "Thank you Bunji, skirts are the best idea for climbing purposes." She laughed softly moving to sit down in her usual spot at the edge, letting her legs dangle off of it as she stared out across the view.
"Doesn't excuse you being loud." He muttered sitting down opposite of her, but he didn't sit on the edge, he scooted back resting his arm across a knee frowning at her back before she turned back to look at him. "Dry humor." He stated flicking his used cigarette off the edge and picking out another one.

"Ah, I don't get dry humor, nor sick humor." She gave a strange smile before turning back to the view; she seemed strained in her answer and Bunji found himself wanting to pick into her behavior.
"What's up?" He asked, trying not to sound too rough or irritable, she would start crying and he couldn't handle crying. "Something wrong?" He asked making his voice a smidge softer which had her laughing. Pfft, brats.
"I'm a big girl, I don't need to be babied." She reminded him tartly before scooting away from the ledge and turning to face him. "There's nothing wrong other than the fact that after yesterday when Ophelia said that you killed people you clammed up and haven't said anything sense.... Its not like I didn't know." She trailed off looking so unsure on how to continue with this sort of conversation.
"Its s**t you shouldn't know." It had come out alot more rough than what he had intended, but she was stubborn so it didn't put her off too much.

"It doesn't scare me, and I can't bring myself to hate you for it because you seem to hate yourself enough for me." She pointed out watching as he flicked yet another used cigarette off the edge and lit another one... She knew of chain smokers, but this was ridiculous, almost like a nervous habit.
"I ain't concerned of whether or not you're scared of me, there's stuff people like you don't need to know." He was being dodgy about the issue and Aira would have nothing of the sort.
"What's that suppose to mean? Just because I look like a little goody girl doesn't mean I'm stupid about the way the world is!" She shouted her fist hitting the ground in irritation. "People kill and die all the time, rape, abuse. I know about it, I'm not a naive child." She lowered her eyes pulling her legs underneath her, folding her hands in her lap.
"There's a difference between knowing of it and being a part of it." He knew that all too well; remembering the shocked faces of the families he had murdered on order of his boss, all for the Family based on lies.

"I know there's a difference but that doesn't mean I can't help you now." Aira muttered softly as she moved to lean towards him. "You can't continue to live in the past, it will only hurt you." She stated, eyes lowering when she realized he was frowning at her. "I want to help you Bunji, please."
"I don't want you involved." He sighed pressing his hand over hers gently, but she quickly jerked away.
"I'm not a child Bunji, I'm not naive to the workings of the world, I died under circumstances similar to many of those you killed." Her voice had taken an icy tone as she quickly stood, only stopping when Bunji took hold of her arm again.
"Tell me, and I'll tell you." He murmured quietly and Aira smiled as she sat down next to him, resting her head on his shoulder beginning to tell her tale.

Hours later Bunji had finished his story and Aira had finished hers, he hadn't expected what she had told him... She didn't seem like the type to have family involved with the mafia, but those who weren't in the know never did. You could have relatives involved and never even know until you lost your life over their stupidity.
"If your sister wasn't in the home at the time she's probably safe. Most sweepers don't bother going after those who had no involvement or weren't their as witnesses." He hadn't ever chased down anyone that was for sure, but those in the way died.
"I know, I know she isn't dead because I have this feeling that she isn't here." Aira sighed pulling her knees to her chest as the sun began to set. "I just hope she's safe and still living a good life, goodness knows when your stable life was built on a lie you won't have it for long." She bit her lip wondering where the other had turned to when all her other family left.
"Do you hate your dad?"
"No, I can't bring myself to hate him." She sighed feeling her eyes water. "It was all his fault, but he was still my dad, he still took care of us and made sure we had everything we wanted without letting us know his dark secrets, up until I died I would've never thought he was involved."

"Yeah, it tends to happen that way. If you never know you're usually safer than if you know. Its not a life to get involved with if you're weak." He blew out another trail of smoke before looking down to see her watery eyes... Oh, he couldn't take that, she said she wasn't a kid but here she was about to cry. "Hey, stop that."
Aira blinked and wiped her tears away quickly, choosing to frown at Bunji. "Shut up, that doesn't mean anything." She muttered knowing he was probably reconsidering giving her the adult treatment now that she was about to bawl like a child. "I didn't even notice."
Bunji merely grunted in reply, relieved that she didn't cry... Children and girls, they were so much trouble, he had never been interested in either to tell the truth. Sure hookers were fun and all but never attachment, but here he was sitting with this girl almost every day now.

"Is that man code for this conversation is over with?" Aira asked forcing a smile as he rolled his eyes. "I was being serious."
"Whatever, its getting late, go home." Bunji muttered flicking his cigarette off the ledge.
"Shouldn't you assist me down and back?" She asked, only teasing but was surprised when he stood and offered her his hand. "Oh, I didn't think... you don't have to." She trailed off averting her face when she felt it flush again, cursing her girl genes.
"There's still bad spirits about, our guide wouldn't be pleased if I left you alone." He stated in a matter of fact tone as she took his hand and was hoisted up. He wouldn't dare admit that he was worried about her too.
