My parents are immigrants from China. Understandly, they've survived lots of hardships to be where they are right now. In their point of view, productive work puts you into a better position. That, I'm fine with.
Then they put these values on me. Okay. What? I can't write on the story I've been working on for a month. I can't go online unless my assignments pertain to homework. I have to take practice SATs. I have to sleep before ten on weekends. Yeah, right, like any of that is going to happen. From my parents' standpoint, this is necessary. I can understand that.
But what I can't understand is how I can't have fun. All work and no play makes a man very dull and what? Gay? Oh, gray. I can't even enjoy my hobbies anymore! Honestly, I'm still going to write on my story. I'm still going online to chat and surf Gaia. I still will dodge the SAT preparation books around my house, and I will definitely stay past ten o'clock on weekends. How can you not enjoy life? These are the things that I do to help me unwind and deal with five AP classes at school! Without these little things, I'd die in school. I'd be a very boring person, and I wouldn't enjoy life.
Sure. I'm born in the United States, and I didn't face the same hardships that my parents faced. It was because of them that I'm not dealing with communism, with Mao, and with the intense competition at school. I do my homework in school. I'm a good kid: valedictorian of my class. But if I'm not allowed to enjoy my hobbies, what's the point? They want me to become a machine.
Realistically, their arguments are much more credible than mine. But that's okay. I'm an adolescent; what do I know?
Oh, feel free to put all your rants into this thread, so we can have a huge collection...of rants...

Wow, I feel sorry for you... That must suck...
My rant is something that has been pissing me off lately (sorry for the language).
My friend, has been flirting with the guy that I like, and the rest of my friends leave me out in everything, though I join along with em when we hang out... It has been making me angry for the last months! I ranaway from them on Friday because of it... They were calling for me but I didn't give a crap...

Can mine be about Gaia?
Ok, well this is about the time I got my second Kiki. Very long and boring...Warning: Your eyes may will bleed.
Ok, In my pre-captain days [A.K.A. Spastic Vitamins] I used to surf through the exchange, looking for good deals and the such. I came across a Kiki kitty plushie. Please note, this is when Kiki's cost 50k. Some new person seemed to have gotten a rather large donation of a kiki kitty plushie, and so he was selling it. There were some pretty good offers there. but he refused them, because he didn't want pure gold. So, I offered: 1 solar headress. 1 whip of fire, 1 Lunar cloak 1 Bone Dragon Helmet, 1 Phoenix circlet and 14k (worth 32k back then). And he accepted it. So, I got my Kiki at the expense of a few of my items. I wanted my items back! So, I sold my new Kiki for a higher price [total exchange whore] of a Staff on angels, solar headdress and 9k (worth 40k then). So, because I wanted a Demonic Pitchfork, I sold my staff of angels for a demonic pitchfork. To this day for a reason I don't understand, I decided to sell the pitchfork. Out of it I got about 30k
out of it. So I bought a pair of Goti Clips and a pimpin' hat.
A few weeks later, I sold the hat.
