Always shoot for the Moon... ((-Shifts slightly uneased- I hope I'm doing this right. I also don't really what the river is like so I'm just going to try. Raises hand I shall Alter if You see it fit))
Up in the sky the sun laid roughly a couple hours west of noon. The heat of the day was not quite at it's peak but was coming off of it. The sun was hottest between Noon and two. Happily it was just after two so from here on the day would get cooler. The sky was a crystal clear blue. There were no clouds in sight. Talani happily bounced and excitedly made her way toward the river. She didn't quite pay mind to the fact that she was in company's presence. She was quite brimming over with excitement the moment her lavender eye saw the river. She'd been swimming only once and that had been when she was little. It was only once she'd finally made her way halfway to the river that she paused to make sure she'd not left Jasper behind. She turned around and looked back to where she thought Jasper would be and sighed when she realized in her excitement she'd gotten ahead of him. She frowned at her own actions and sat down. She was making a friend and she'd already left him behind. She wasn't very happy with herself. She wasn't getting off quite to a good start at becoming friends. She sat down and stared at her paws sadly. She hoped he wouldn't be to far off. She shifted her paws nervously as she waited. Ever second seemed to be an eternity. ...because even if you miss you'll land in the stars.

Jasper trotted slowly behind the female Datsi, shaking his head and smiling at her excitement. He watched as she practically bounced towards the river, her ears flopping up and down. She was soon out of sight but that didn't worry him. Talani would be waiting, he was sure. Besides, it was a beautiful day and he was in no rush. He closed his eyes and let the soft cool breeze combed its fingers through his coat, brushing away any worries he carried. He was here to enjoy this day and relax. Still smiling, he approached the riverbank. And as expected, Talani was waiting. But...there was one thing he was not expecting. Instead of splashing around in the water, she was sitting on the bank and she looked...sad? He cocked his head to one side, trying to solve the puzzle. After a second or two, he shrugged and decided to try and cheer her up. He jumped behind a small bush and pounced, pushing himself and Talani into the water. He laughed loudly and grinned at her.

Tumbling backward into the water Talani was surprised by the pouncing she received from Jasper. She giggled happy by his cheerful mood. She didn't think she was doing to bad at making a friend anymore, when even though she'd left him behind he was still joyful. She then turned her attention to the water that jasper had knocked them into. It was cool but not cold. It was a pleasant temperature to Talani. She was excited and ducked her head into the water and looked about into the water. Then she brought her head up and shook it softly causing water droplets to spray about. She looked to jasper still grinning. "This is a very nice place you suggested. Very pretty. Yes yes. Do you like it? Very Beautiful day is it not?" Talani looked about before turning back to Jasper.

Jasper laughed pleasantly. His eyes shifted to the bright sun smiling upon the two Datsis. "It sure is great. Nice day to play by the river." He took a deep breath, taking in the fresh moist air. "Hey, look! That cloud looks like a rose, pretty like you." He gazed at the sky. When he was sure she looked in the general direction he pointed to, Jasper slowly dipped his nose into the cool water and flicked water onto Talani's already soaked coat. He grinned at her innocently when she turned around. "Wasn't me."

Talani was brimming with excitement as she looked for the cloud that Jasper had pointed to. The words he had spoke were still processing as she looked to the cloud. Then it hit her that he'd called her pretty. Though remarkably distracted she blushed and then felt drops of water splash against her coat. She giggled and turned to Jasper. Her blush was still present faintly upon her furry little cheeks. His innocent grin and the comment that followed didn't fool Talani. She grinned happily. "Well Mister innocent your nose tells an entirely different story." After that Talani dipped her own nose into the water and flicked water back at him.

Jasper crossed his eyes and looked at his nose which dripped with water. "Aw shoot." He laughed and splased water onto Talani with his paw. Then before she could get him back, he dived into the cool blue water. A few moments later, he stuck his muzzle out somewhere down the stream. "Catch me if you can!" He laughed happily and disappeared once again, hoping Talani would be coming after him.

Talani giggled at Jasper after he splashed her with his paw. She watched as he dove into the water. He caused the water to lap up onto her in small waves. She grinned at his challenge. She wasn't sure if she could catch him but she was going to try her best. With that she herself dove into the water swimming after him. She couldn't see under the water quite well she had to keep bobbing her head up out of the water to make sure she was going in the right direction. Her lavender fur lay plastered down upon her head. She could faintly see Jasper ahead of her.

Hoping Talani didn't know where they were going, Jasper kept on swimming forward. Every once in a while, he glanced back to make sure she was following him. And everytime he looked at her, he couldn't help but smile. When she was within earshot he shouted, "Come on! You gotta swim faster if you're gonna catch me!" And then he laughed cheerfully and dove back into the water.

Talani frowned at how she wasn't seeming to quite catch up but she was pleased that he would occasionally look back to see if she was following. As she fought her way down the river she sometimes glanced to the shore trying to figure where they were going but she hadn't a clue. She heard his remark and grinned. He was still keeping up his challenge. She kicked her little paws hard trying to catch up and gained slightly in swimming faster. She thought she might actually stand a chane at catching up. "Just watch I'll get you." She giggled as she continued on after his submerged blue body upon his next surfacing she called out to him. "Do you even know where we are going?" Still pleased that she was seeming to gain slightly on him.

"I know where we're going, but you'll have to figure it out by yourself cause I'm not telling." Jasper grinned at her. "Let's just say it's a fun little place." He slowed down a little, giving Talani a chance to catch up. Jasper glanced at the shore then back at the Datsi swimming towards him, smiling the whole time.

Talani frowned at his comment. She was gonna have to figure it out. She'd have shrugged if she could have but she couldn't while swimming. At least he knew where they were going which was a good thing. She grinned and decided to respond to his last statement"Better be. All this work your making me do." She fought the river's water harder and ended up closing the distance between her and Jasper in a short amount of time.

"Haha, you'll like it. Trust me." Jasper climbed up on shore and shook the water out of his fur. There were two dirt paths that cut through the trees. One lead to the heart of the forest, which he guessed was the darker path, and the other lead to the place they were going. The sunlight shone through the holes between the leaves and branches, creating a pretty pattern on the ground. "Hey Talani, I'll race you to the end of the path!" Hoping she wasn't too tired to accept yet another challenge, he added "But don't worry, it's a short way. We can't step on the light parts though, only the shadows." He grinned at her, his long tail swishing from side to side like a playful puppy.

Talani grinned as she climbed out of the water after him. "Okay I'll trust you" Talani shook the water from her fur. She giggled as she realized that she ended up spraying water drops on Jasper. "Sorry about that." Talani jumped up excitedly at the new challenge. "Your on Jasper. I'm game any one who steps on a light patch loses half a minute of run time. Deal?" She grinned and her tail flicked back and forth in excitement much as his did.

Talani Grinned and bound forward with a ferocious leap landing just before a light patch. She sighed in relief that she hadn't landed on the light. She giggled at jasper who was a little ahead of her but she nodded contently that he wouldn't be for long. She happily bounced and weaved her way as quickly as she could down the path till she was neck and neck as the saying goes with Jasper
