The moon had just reached the middle of the sky, and the owls and other nightly creatures begun to wake while the creatures of the day took to bed. The moon shone over the tree tops and mountain, giving the landscape a heavenly facade, only to though who could not guess further to the evils that lurked behind tree trunks and berry bushels. A peaceful silence had set in, though only to be ruined by the scratching, rustling, and banging at the edge of a forest clearing...
Gleaming gold antlers scraped at the bark of harmless pine tree that did nothing to deserve such action, but received it anyway without much but a sway or a rustle of leaves. The owner of the antlers pulled back, panting from the endless hours of batting at the stationary object. News of a herd and a new respected postion as the Lead Protector had gotten him a bit overly excited. Everything the gold Ceryeni had hoped for was finally in the works!
Helberd reared up again, tossing his antlers to the sky, before falling once again back to the Eath - hooves hitting the packed dirt heavily - and pushed off, ramming the tree head on causing the blue-colored beads on his antlers to almost fly off his antlers in the process. After giving a slight tug to removed his antlers from the shaved bark, he steady himself and smiled. "This day just can't go wrong"
