Vincent stood up the moment he heard a knock at the door. His mother was at the store, and had taken the girls and Joshua. She hadn't told him why she was going--he assumed she was getting the other three something.

He made his way towards the door, and turned the handle. The door swung open easily. His smile faded as he saw who stood there, he went pale and put clawed hands over his face. What had he done this time? He hadn't called anyone bossy... He hadn't even been out of the house since the last time he'd seen her.

"Don't hurt me..." Was Vincent's only response, looking at her fearfully. Yes, he was frightened. With good reason, the last time he'd seen her, she'd beaten him to a pulp and caused him to go to the hospital.

He uncovered his face, revealing the fading bruises around his eyes. He decided to answer her question, silently thinking that if he didn't answer it correctly, she would get mad and hit her again. He didn't have anyone to protect him with his mother gone.. and Dad was working in his study. Vinny was very much alone.

Vinny gave her a relieved look and took the bag. "Thank you." He said, blinking at it. Being humility, he didn't think he deserved the gift--but being greed, he was pleased. "Do you want to...uh. You know, talk?" He asked, before handing her an envelope. "I made it for you." He told her.

It was a card, one I don't need to describe because 'Zuba's writer has already seen it. It was a paper heart covered in gold tin foil. Black lettering said 'I'm sorry, I hope we can still be friends'.

Vinny shook his head. "I did wrong, too." He said. "I shouldn't have called Adhara bossy. It was mean." He had promised himself he would never say another mean thing again. It might get him beat up.

He opened the bag, and looked at the picture first. He blinked. "Why are you sorry?" He asked. "I deserved it." He really thought he had deserved it, calling someone bossy was obviously a horrible crime that people got hit for.

Vinny shook his head, and did something quite unexpected. He hugged her. "We're both horrible people, then." He said. "I'm sorry too. Can we friends? Best friends? I promise not to call Adhara bossy.." He gave a small smile.

"I am though." Vincent said, looking at her. It was clear that he truly believed that he was a horrible person. He truly did. It was a horrible thing to call names. It was even worse to lose a friend over it.

He would fix this problem. If only for selfish reasons. Being greed, losing anything was a large blow to him--especially when it came to friends. He gave a relieved half smile when she said it'd be okay for them to be friends again. "Just.. don't hit me again, okay?" He said, giving her a cautious look. "I don't want to go to the hospital again."

Vinny shook his head, and put a finger under her chin to lift it. "It's alright." He said, "It didn't hurt that bad." A lie, if it hadn't hurt, he wouldn't have had been so frightened.

Then the preteen did something completely out of character. The humility spawn kissed her. He blushed, and pulled away quickly. "I'm sorry." He muttered, looking to his feet.
