Thought I would pop in here to unload biggrin .
Started out as a normal week.. Boring ole Monday, getting ready to crack a book open to read since everyone else is asleep.. slightly after Midnight (so technically it is Tuesday) and I hear "WOOOOOSH!!!" right outside my upstairs bedroom window. So I turn and nudge hubby. He stumbles out of bed, grabs his flashlight, tells me to put out the light and he looks out the window shining his light. All he got to see is a flat tire and some bike reflectors. Some lovely person decided we needed new tires, I guess. They punctured one tire on his work truck in the drive (his employer replaced the tire) and three on his personal vehicle in the street, yet they didn't touch Esmerelda, err.. I mean my vehicle (She has an alarm and was closest to the house). (hubby has a black Dodge Ram I refer to as Betty) (and a police report was filed)
So that morning (Tuesday) hubby tried to remove the tire from his work vehicle with no luck and I wander down the driveway to look at Betty... *twist* My foot found an uneven spot in the pavement. I have never twisted my ankle that badly before, and I hope never again. He didn't get the tire off, they sent a flatbed to take it to the local tire place they contract with. Then I got to drive there and take him to work and again pick him up from work and take him back to get his truck.
He spent Tuesday night in the driveway beating on the last tire that would not come off because the lug nut became rounded off leading to him smacking Betty on the side with a tire iron in (or out of) frustration.
Wednesday he picked up a special tool at Sears to remove the pesky lug. After a bit it worked. He took the tires, bought new ones, and returned to put them on, after $650 *sigh* Betty still needs transmission work too.
My ankle barely hurts now, but I can't see it. I think it is under all the swelling. We are planning on vacationing next week and doing LOTS of walking including many stairs, should prove interesting.
The Girkl and Lumpy are both wonderful if a bit annoying at times. Hubby is still a bit stressed.

*tries to reply left handed with a latched on Lacey* I have time! Jason's late coming home.
You name your cars? Our cars are special and distinctive but we've never thought to name them.
The tire-slashing reminds me of when we were dating and someone stole Jason's gold rims and left his 66 mustang up on blocks. Did insurance cover everything?
Hope your ankle is better before you vacation! Where are you going?
And you still haven't answered if Girkl rhymes with Purkle?

Good work Lacey!
Yes, I name my cars *blushes* They aren't really special or distinctive, but I guess the names make 'em more so.
We didn't think to make a claim. With our deductable, we would still be paying half of it (almost) and our rates would go up.
The ankle only hurts if I turn it a lot, but it sure is pretty swollen.. I will prop it up while I sleep, it seems to help.
And yes, Girkl rhymes with Purkle!
